I stayed at the hotel from May 20-22 2018. I paid for the hotel in cash EURO 171 and when I got home realized they charged my wife's credit card for the same amount. We were double charged and have spent a month trying to get our refund. The hotel staff and manager are hostile and unwilling to help even though they have now identified both payments. I urge you DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL if you wish to avoid issues. There are many other honest establishments! If you get double charged as we did you will NOT be able to recover your money. This is FRAUD and we are looking at how to take legal action.

Even if you are a customer over a year, no recognition for good customers at 2 bookings per month! shame.

Nice hotel with a location not far from the Republic square. There is a fridge and a microwave and a TV in each room. Royal mad hotel rates are available around forty euros. The stairs are steep and uneven because of the steps of different heights, it's a little wobbleas soon as we meet on the fifth or sixth floor. This is a hotel that I recommend even though the comfort is a bit spartan and the street noisy early in the morning.

The Center, many shops, restaurants.

Separated washroom and bathroom. There was no elevator. The whole building was too old. The showers were broken, there was leak in the lavatory. There is no air condition so I do not recommend using this facility in the summer or even spring. The only way to cool down your room is opening windows, which destroys your privacy completely (all of the neighbors have a complete view while you sleep or change). The area is super crowded during the night, so you should close windows to be able to sleep (shouting people, too noisy motorcycles, etc), but then you will suffer from the isolated air space and hot, humid weather. The only good thing about is cleaning services.

10 years I come very often on Paris! And finally I found a simple hotel, good and cheap.
Located 100m from the Metro "Voltaire", the hotel is very well located close to a supermarket and other shops…
Very polite and courteous staff.
At 11am we could even have our room already because it was ready. Clean and quiet room equipped with a small fridge and micro wave.
So for the price, there's really nothing to say!
And znfin I found my label when I come to Paris!

Dirty, expensive for what it is and very poorly organized. I came traveling a month ago and the hostels where they stopped were wonderful and this was the worst where I fell. Terrible truth.
The bed and furniture seem to have never passed a rag and the bathroom is just a toilet in a small and disgusting room. I wouldn't recommend it for a night.

Tragic, room-cell, clogged sink. Breakfast to order the day before, not warned of this provision so nothing to get under the tooth. Welcome but not enough to make forget the noise of the keys of the neighbor of landing, the footsteps on the stairs and those of the neighbor from above.

Great reception and value for money in Paris many Parisian hotels a star with two stars are less interesting on the surface of room and quality of bedding.

Those who go there should not expect a classy welcome from a starry hotel, but the value for money is good. It is extremely basic but ample enough for a small weekend. Our room had two single beds, a sink, a small fridge. Everything was clean. The reception was simple and efficient. I dreaded the common showers but they were also clean and it was nice.
The downside is that you hear everything, the neighbor who snores, the showers below, or the flushing of the toilets in the stairwell.
The Metro Voltaire is really close, otherwise there is also the underground Bastille which is not very far.
I do not recommend for a romantic stay but I would recommend it for a short time on affordable betting. (We paid €40 each for two nights, it was cheaper than a Airbnb).

Hotel OK and not very expensive, but a little noisy and a lot of rust on the taps.

For the center is convenient only plus there is a bar downstairs and Mikrovalnovka.

Cheap and close to (bar/metro/restaurant/shop/…). Hotel noisy, not conducive to relaxation (for dynamic person lying down late) perfect.

Disappointed! We spent a horrible night on TV making noise! horrible ever again.

I did not like, in the room I found with my partner condoms of a previous guest the sheets could be noted that they did not change them and the microwave was dirty. Quite a lot to wish for.

Good accommodation. You have an oven and a refrigerator in the room. What I didn't like were the communal bathrooms.

Well located, very close to the Metro stop. The rooms are old and have no elevator, but they look clean and the bed is comfortable. The bathrooms are shared, they are old but clean. In the room there is a fridge and a microwave. They only spoke French and Chapurreaban a little English.

If noise bothers you, then stay away from this hotel. Walls are made out of paper. You can hear the stairs, the showers, all the doors, the street, and the TV next door. It's hell from 6am onward. There is no soap in the bathrooms, so you can rightly expect fecal bacteria to be on all the doors' handles. Just don't put your fingers in your mouth.

Had the good times with my CRS RoboCop when he spent Paris and thought to return to this hotel for also its quiet ambience X.

Pros: Cheap and in a good location — close to Place de la Bastille for restaurants and bars, and Marais for shopping, etc. Cons: Very basic facilities. Six floors with no elevator. Poor sound insulation in the rooms.

Hotel location is very convenient, Métro out to walk a two minutes to, but also quite comfortable, hotel staff is also very nice, but is the night street a bit noisy, room soundproofing is not very good.

Good hotel, nice location, fair price. Only down thing is that we had to keep asking for new towels, couldn't not take shower after 10pm or before going to the airport at 4am. Overall highly recommended.

Au Royal hotel is located in a good area surrounded by a lot of good shops. Its also easy to get there from airport by public transportation. Rooms are clean, nice welcoming reception team. I didn't eat in the hotel as there was many restaurants near by.

Do not stay here. There is a bed bug infestation. We stayed in a private room and then had our rooms changed and I got bitten all over. After a night in the other room I also got bitten again. The staff did a refund for the final night and we stayed somewhere else.

The location was in a convenient and safe place. Very close to the Metro. The hotel staff was helpful and let us leave our bags before the check-in time. The rooms were pretty clean every for some unwashed dishes left in our room. The room was incredibly hot during a heat wave. A fan in the room would have been perfect for hot summers.

Very nice hotel in an old house with everything flowing. Spiral staircase and windows to the neighboring house. Very nice and kind staff. Lots of toilets and showers, which again with toilets and on different floors. Everything is clean, spacious and beautiful. The room itself is simply decorated, but it has a TV, fridge, wash basin and microwave (which is a godsend for those who like to eat in the morning/evening). Good sleep and mjagchajshie pillows. In eight minutes metro and cheap (compared to all other) supermarket Simply. Warmly recommend.
Someone doesn't like the noise from the street. Yes, it's the problem of people with sensitive sleep. But if you walk a lot, and then sleep tightly, then it is not. In fact, in the midst of the events of Paris in principle it is difficult to find silence. Stuffy, slept with the windows open. Therefore, for us the minus can be called only that it is a long walk to the main sights. The Eiffel Tower is 30 minutes away by Metro.

However the TV did not work, and the stairs are very loud…
I was side Court, it was nice I could keep the window open without any noise.
The toilet and shower are on the stage, it's not always simple but fine.
The room was larger than I could think for a hotel in an old Parisian building.

Words cannot express how disappointed I am with this hotel. Right now I am still itching the over 20 flea bites over my body. Even worse I had to kill a flea walking across my bed sheets! I took photos of the dead flea, my bites and the blood stain on the bed from the dead bug and talked to the staff about leaving the hotel. I was bringing my family to Disneyland but the manager wanted me to wait for him to arrive “around 10:15am” for him to deal with it. This is unacceptable, they offered us another room but we declined, as it doesn’t make sense to stay in another room in a bug-infested hotel. They charged us for the remaining nights, and I was left staying at another hotel out of my pocket. Do not stay here.

Staff spoke English well and right next to a Metro station. Bathrooms are in good quality compared to other shared bathrooms. Only problem is I had the 6th floor and no elevator, not a fun climb.

It's well located and the service isnt't bad, however my wife was eaten alive by bugbeds during the night. I personally do not recommend this place.

Perfect hotel! If we're looking for an economical place to just sleep and freshen up, this hotel is perfect. Clean, good location and very good staff.

It's a simple hotel for sure, but I enjoyed my stay. Microwave and fridge on the room are a great service. Rooms could be cleaner, shower was okay.
