Reviews of Altona 2*
It was ana amazing hotel and the stuff was very friendly good location, rooms and breakfast was good.
Good location & low price in advance.
Hotel altona Was the worst Hotel we have ever been too. I messaged the hotel informing them that I will arrive at 13.00. By the time we actually arrived at the hotel it was already 13.30. The receptionist told us to wait 5 min because the room was not ready. Which was perfectly fine. But then 10 minutes later other people started to walk in, they only had to wait a few minutes and got a room. 45 minutes later I went back to the receptionist to ask about our room. But a man who stood behind the counter told the receptionist in French " don't serve these people, let them wait" aiming it at us. They didn't know that we knew French and I started to kick off. I straight away got a room key. When I got in to the room… It was even worse, it was not even cleaned. It was not one or two things it was literally the whole room. I went down and complained to the receptionist about the room, and the only thing they did was the bed and they hoovered the floor. Just the worst Hotel I have seen. do not book hotel altona.
Best location. Bathrooms too small. Very2 near to metro station. Very much accessible. Breakfast in a small dark downstair room… but only washroom not good… rest staff is o. K.
I strongly advise 20th the hotel, the receptionist is a thief, dirty room, no hot water, narrow room, do not pay especially with your bank card.
If you are planning to stay in paris for few days, better find some other hotel. This one is not bad if you are travelling lot in city and staying at hotel for overnight sleep.
Good reception, quiet room on the garden side, classic breakfast without more, Deco a little dated but very well done if you are on the move.
Not recommended!
— Breakfast was a disaster! I've never eaten such bad buns anywhere else.
— Elevator was sometimes stuck between floors: — (
— Too little storage space for clothes in the rooms
— hard mattresses
— Service … Without words! Just empty promises!
— Fan in the bathroom runs 24 hours and is audible at night: — (
Never again this hotel!
Never go to this hotel the maid does not c absolutely not do the cleaning (sweets and papers under the bed and I go…) the TV Ki does not even work…
Good Hotel, excellent pricing, central… just 5min. From Garde de Nord, very friendly staff, highly recommended… we are here the 2nd time…
This is a 2 star hotel. The best with this hotel is the bed, and service in reception… The rest is very bad. Breakfast… I could not believe what they served. Every where I have had hotel, they served warm breakfast, like eggs, potato, stuff like that…, But not here. I was so disapointed…
Positive/+: — good location at Gare du Nord and Sacre Coeur Cathedral — supermarket, metro station and bus stations nearby — breakfast — price depending on between 50/60 € — renovated bathroom — good cleaning lady/clean room — friendly staff negative/—: — Noisy Nebenstr Aße — Öffnenbare window but not reclosable — the lamps are very loose and fall almost from the wall — extremely thin walls (you hear everything from the neighbouring rooms) — a rundown room (holes in the joints) — uncomfortable bed — the mattress is in plastic Packaged and cracks at night — (almost) broken elevator — small room — Unfortunately the staff hardly speaks English.
The room was very clean, the breakfast was very good, the staff were very helpful and the bathroom was very small.
I had beetles in bed, the wallpaper goes off and the window cannot be closed. The bathroom is quite okay, but the shower runs out.
Breakfast is far too little, with us there was some mold in the shower, but the staff are friendly. Nevertheless, the hotel is very profit-oriented and stingy over.
The shower is dripping and the room stinks. The doorknob is broken and it's all dirty. The hotel is very run down and not recommended.
What can I say-met quickly. Room for three. Small. No balcony. The linen is clean. Towels are enough. Gels, shampoos, soap-everything is. The kettle is braoi with you. Near shop-bought there food for breakfast-broi without food. The hotel is actually only overnight. They left at 9 and returned in 21-22. Cleaned daily. On the date of our stay got my dr and Dr my husband. After my reminder found a bouquet in the room-a trifle, and nice. Overall for the deuce everything is fine. Initially I even thought to give an estimate of five balls… But the two days before departure had discovered the footprints (literally pieces of five, but still ( ( (Bites! All the same about bedbugs do not lie! And neither the husband, nor the child did not bite-the husband says blood sweet. But it really will sit five people on the street, and mosquitoes bite me one …) ) In general such a nuance is present (because of this I take the assessment-as it is not the way the word Paris and bedbugs in one place) in the rest for the deuce is excellent. The area is normal. Metro nearby. Last time lived on the Pygalal-contingent the same-a lot of visitors) do not wrap-everything is calm. Near Montmartre. Nice walk… was on the subway. It is easy enough to orient it. In 7 days have visited all that it is possible (my husband and I have already been in Paris-have decided daughter to bring) on Eyelyeva the tower did not rise-to the people a lot.
Cheap. Don't expect too much. The rooms and bathrooms are small but can be perfect if you're looking for a room where you can stay overnight. They serve breakfast for €7.50 but don't expect too much either.
Really horrible. The bedding is not changed, the toilet leaks, the insulation leaves to be desired, etc… For a night step, OK for the very affordable price (which corresponds well to the quality of services offered elsewhere) but especially not for a stay.
I don't know how they did to give stars to this hotel, dirty and old locals, I don't think it's ever cleaned the carpet in 10 years and we found the bed bugs in various rooms also the staff didn't even want to change the room. Positive point is comfortable with the Metro.
Horrible… wobbly floor, card of the dilapidated door so much that the door did not open. There is no noise from the bathroom. Dust everywhere, stains on the sheets on the bath mat, the dirty shower pear, the dusty and stained carpet, under the bed let's not talk about it. The window is broken and moisy. The wall is crumbling everywhere. And Ln had two small beds in place of a double bed.
Not Allzuteuer, Spartan breakfast in the basement, a star for the location: evening stroll to wine drinking on the Mont Marten.
A wonderful place for two stars. Breakfast. The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The day before the departure in his place came a smiling Hindu, very friendly and perfectly speaking Russian with a great sense of humor. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
A normal deuce. The food is OK, everything is clean and tidy. But you have to pay the hotel fee.
It was quite okay but great service.
Good location Good breakfast. Own. Metro nearby. Good price/quality relationship… To repeat…
For a two stars gotel it has everything you might need for an overnight stay. It is perfectly located next to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est.
Hotel not very suitable. Small room. Small bathroom, the heating is not very strong! Disappointing when I saw the other comment.
Just a little more for the public transport around.
Excellent location very nice close to the train station very quiet the area with bars and pub with happy hours near the Sacred Heart Iglecia and Mole Rouge.
Basic hotel, old building, ok for one night if in need for a stay close to the Gare du Nord when your train leaves very early. Had to send multiple mails to try to get my invoice, nothing came. Had to go back to get it. In other words, total lack of service.
Very nice hotel. Lived three nights. Clean and comfortable. Cleaning every day. Zavtoaki. I don't have any questions. Advise.
Good value for money But it certainly lacks several things like attention to the guest. In our case there is one day we did not make the room, we only put 4 envelope soaps for our entire stay, we went down to ask for more and the receptionist sent us to the room because I didn't know where they were and we had to keep looking…
The location was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It is not a very advisable neighborhood, does not give sense of security, I went with some friends and was to get out of the subway and be rodeadxs of men who intimidated us… You came out of the subway and had Hombrre waiting, probably the dope. It's not the hotel's fault but good we consider it to be an important point.
This hotel lacks a good renovation, the rooms are a little half-done, damaged headboards, sheets and blankets with other hairs. Clean but very small bathroom. They don't pick up the garbage.
There is free Wi-Fi, but sometimes it is better to pull data.
I give a 2 stars. A star for low prices. A star for the proximity of the transport. But — 3 stars for bed bugs!
A untie! At 14.00 didn't have the Habiatación list, they were cleaning it. The next day in the morning, we opened the drawer of the nightstand and it was full of cigars and ashes. We went to spend the day outside and when we came back in the evening we found the room door wide open, had all day opened with our stuff inside. The owners are very friendly and helpful… we don't recommend or return.
Hotel near the station, more pension than hotel. Vintage rooms and not very big.
Simple and uncomplicated very friendly and helpful.
At the check in, the recepcionist was lost. They gave us two different keys from two different rooms in order to confirm by ourselves if the rooms were occupied or not. Is this safe? We decided not to stay. They promise us not to get charged due to all the problems that we encountered, However they did. Hotel and neighbourhood not recommendable.
Just need it. Room quite comfortable but TV too small!
Room 26 Nice Home (young girl) newly equipped bathroom with hair dryer but dirty between shower tray and earthenware, + S-D-B floor and walls.
Comfortable bed My tired sheets + covers stains disgusting carpets… Tasks everywhere, especially in the corner behind the door and near the entrance to S-D-B.
S-D-b window does not close quiet night.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Small downside: noise isolation.
Friendly staff. The shabby room: irregular floor and uncorked, the sheets with blood stains and one of the beds of the "triple room" was foldable. The location is good, very close to the Metro and the tourist attractions. Although it is worth mentioning that it cost you could not ask much more.
It's worth what you pay, there's no bidet.
We stayed for several days, comfortable, comfortable place, clean sheets, hot water, a very comfortable bed and mattress. (Ideal for after intense days in Paris). Located one street from the metro and several bus lines. Totally recommended.!
Whatever you do, do NOT stay at this hotel. We had booked a reservation for one night, showed up, gave us our key and went on our way. So far so good. We open the door only to see that someone was already staying in the room. Gentleman at the desk apologizes and gives us another room, only this time he's not sure if anyone is in the room since he "doesn't have his phone on him" and asks us to knock first. Low and behold, people were in this room as well. Very quick to realize that management here has no clue what was going on, we decided to stay elsewhere. They said we would not be charged but ended up taking our money anyway. This hotel is dirty and run by incompetent, lying crooks. I know the hotel is cheap and is tempting, but do yourself a favor, please! Would give zero stars if possible!
The hotel provides the basics, but that’s all we needed when we stayed in Paris, because we’re not really hotel room dwellers. The Hotel Altona had everything we needed, and the staff was extremely friendly! The hotel itself feels very secure! As with any hotel close to the train station, though, the way to the hotel can be a bit sketchy. Make sure you know where you’ll have to exit the train station and where you go. What was great for us was that the reception desk is staffed 24/7, because it allowed us to check out super early in the morning to head for the airport by train.
Attention fleas or bed bug alarm! My daughter and her classmates were brazenly stabbed. If you stay there, you should not take your luggage into the house after your trip home and dispose of everything through heat or cold treatment. I'm not exaggerating!
From the entrance the receptionist is very friendly and speaks many languages, the room was pristine, the only detail is that it is an old hotel, you could reform several things… The breakfast is good but you have to get up early. Then the location is great, very close to the Metro. The truth is that for tourist is fine.
We stayed with Hôtel Altona for a week during our time in Paris. This cool and funky hotel had wonderful charm that added to our visit. Tucked in a small neighborhood not far from sacre-coeur-montmartre gives a true vibration of Paris. The staff was very helpful to meet all our needs with advice on the surrounding area and how best to get where we wanted to go. Thank you Hôtel Altona for a wonderful stay!
Way. Window door overlooking the balcony street side which does not close. Cleanliness of the middle room. Friendly Home.
Horrible! There are bedbugs!
It is a very crappy hotel, with part of the property broken, sloppy and dirty. The auction is to find bedbugs in bed! Disgusting! I woke up full of stings and the only thing that happens to the owners say is a "I'm sorry".
I tried to make a claim and it was impossible. I thought it was a robbery in every respect. Outrageous!
It should be closed because it does not meet the minimum hygienic conditions.
This was my worst experience I ever had in my whole life. This hotel is awful! we spent here 4 nights and believe me I really thought about sleeping outside. They "clean" the room-that means they only clean up the mess on your bed, like putting your pillow the right way. On our second night we saw the first bed bugs who showed up and gave us many sleepless nights! we told them about this problem and they said they'd change our room but nope. We had to live 3 following nights again with these bugs and nothing really helped. I am really disappointed and can't understand how this hotel could get positive reactions. I mean how can you let people sleep with bed bugs? we slept on our balcony one night because nobody helped us the 3rd night when we again found new bugs. Please invest your money in something else but not in this hotel.
I want to preface this by saying that I actually did not have the opportunity to even enjoy their facilities. This is because after making the reservation over a week in advance I showed up and they then told me that when I had made the reservation my card had not gone through. I had received a confirmation email and no indication that anything had changed until I arrived. After a long day of travel this was of course very frustrating.
For a 5wo stars gotel it has everything you might need for an overnight stay. It is perfectly located next to Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est.
Cons: People in the reception had some kind of disability, asked me like 5 times where I was from, spoke to me in 3 different languages at the same time, complete mess. Also, they didn't have my reservation so I had to wait more than 2 hours for them to fix the issue, after that we came to realize the rooms we booked weren't the ones assigned to us. The location of the hotel is also pretty bad, the closest metro station is full of people trying to sell you drugs/ciggarrets or trying to pickpocket you. Be aware, don't book this hotel. Pros: Low price, good breakfast, rooms not that bad but really small bathroom with barely any space to sit in the toilet.
Horror, ruined all the impressions from Paris. One Plus, the subway, but it's better to live on the outskirts near the subway, but in the best hotel.
The cold hotel, the batteries are not included, Wi Fi is not in the room, Paul creaking. The hotel is located in an area where a broken car is parked near the entrance with cloths, Obsharponnye houses, dirt roads, incomprehensible people. There was only a stencil of lying corpse on the pavement. I had to spend a lot of nights in hotels T. C. Traveling a lot. And I can safely say that this hotel is the most horrible and very scarce breakfast. I'll never come back.
I have been to this hotel about 4 years ago. Kindly avoid this place even if you stay there for free. Had a horrible experience there.
Staff very kind and available to solve a couple of technical problems that have been created. Area very comfortable and daily cleaning. All very nice.
Very comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Very well located. Calm. Own. Breakfast very hearty. Excellent quality / price ratio.
Friendly welcome. The hotel is in an old building, the floor tilted (laying something at the foot of my bed, it rolled up the wall). The hotel seems to be clean and looked after, unfortunately the beds were flea-infested bed. Very problematic when, like me, is allergic.
The short section of the street until the metro is in disrepair, with garbage to the road, mattresses, cartons, etc… The room has carpet full of stains. Some stain dark red on the ceiling, I don't know what it is. Breakfast only sweet. A croissant vacuum and a sandwich to the head. Coffee, milk, tea and juice the orange. Cereals, butter, jams, nutella, and cheese. The cabinet door 40 cm. We were 3. Only one towel in the head.
I have been here for three days. A good and cheap hotel with a great location (in terms of distance from the metro/train station) The personnel was super friendly and available to answer to the request. The room was nice and big enough. The towels were a little bit old but clean. It is just 45 mins from CDG or Orly airports.
We had a very good stay 8 till 10th of July. We saw a review of a guest about the bed bugs and told this to the manager who let me inspect the whole room on the bugs before paying and told me about all the rules they have to follow after the bed bugs incident. We got free breakfast and very nice weekend.
The room was OK as per the Price & Clean. Light was Little less though. there is no free breakfast available and Wi-Fi is just horrible. When we reached to the Hotel at night. We dint have our booked room (Twin room), The front desk guy gave us a normal Queen bed room. When we asked him, He said there is some mistake and he will give us another room. The scary part was he started checking other rooms from his master key and opened two rooms without knocking in which People were already staying. Finally for the first night he gave us 2 single rooms but again there was some other Person on the front desk in the morning and he started arguing that How can I take two rooms If I have paid for one. Then again I had to explain him the whole Story. The key he gave us was not working & we had to come down 3 times, Finally he gave us the master key & ask us to return it in 5 minutes after opening the room.
Comfort, friendly staff…
A normal hotel and cheap. Is clean and the breakfast is not bad, you do not stay hungry to start the day.
Good leaving aside it's attack of today 13 of November of the 2015 all has been great. Not is porq people speak badly of the place where this hotel. They want for that good price also is in a very central location next to the metro you barbes and 5 minutes from the Paris NORD station, I saw no dangerous people or anything with say one by there. Hotel of 10 I've been a maid in Madrid and compared to here in 4-star hotels is the same hotel altona even almost best neat bathroom, owners speak Spanish (are Spaniards) and help you and you report are super majos. The hotel is 5 minutes from the basilica of the sacred heart of MONTMARTRE. And 10 from the Moulin Rouge. From my experienciala described as 10 porq truth had a little scary but already had told me the Agency's where I made the reservation. Do not trust the bad things that put Internet porq is sometimes hotels in competition that speak ill. So I thing supeeeeeer recomiendoooo.
I spent here 4 days in November 2015. The price is not bad but not a bargain. There's no breakfast included. The location is good if you travel from Gare du Nord/East stations. The Wi-Fi was horrible. Unusable. I always specify I need good Wi-Fi signal on hotel rooms but here was just terrible. If the Wi-Fi was good I'd say 3 stars, but wasn't the case.
I booked a double room from 01/10 to 08/102015
the first night I had recruiting to a single room which has been changed me that second night after long discussions.
the third morning I had the surprise to find bugs with traces of blood on the pillow. We propose to change rooms for the second time. I agreed to avoid searching a hotel high at the last minute. When I'm back in my new room I had the bad surprise to see that sheets did not cover the bed because it was sheets for a single bed and a double. It took all of a diplomacy to achieve change. They were to pick them up at another hotel.
the next day I left for another hotel after paying cash; and; with all the hassle to look for a hotel at the last minute.
I thought I finished with my troubles, alas it was not counting on the icing on the cake: my surprise was limitless when I saw a deduction of a sum of 105 euros on my payment card representing the price of one night while I had paid my stays in cash. I got my money only after several interventions.
my stays will remain engraved in my memory to be the worst.
If you need a clean friendly place to stay this hotel is perfect. The rooms are small but have a simple Parisian taste. There is an elevator and the Wi-Fi is pretty good. For the price this place is worth it.
Attention, this is an escroit. I'm coming an hour late from the time expected, the guy suppopse that I come and it cancels the booking then gives my room to another and it kicks me out.
Hello
We spent 3 nights at this hotel we had booked on the internet, it's a very dirty place, the curtains were stained and disgusting, the sheets had holes. Reporting our details Bank we could not cancel on the spot to not lose more than €360 and not having a supplementary budget to change hotels. Our return, my husband went quickly to the doctor because he caught button on the face and body, and there he told us he had caught some chips in bed.
I spent 2 nights at l hotel altona room and linen clean beautiful small bathroom with hairdryer free Wi-Fi in the room safe non-revenue staff friendly good breakfast.
So cool my need. Again a bit more color.
Good location, rooms are decent (bigger than expected, clean enough), good price but take very good care about those who run the hotel! We had a reservation with payment at departure but the credit card was charged one week before arrival (free cancelation booking). Otherwise is good for stopovers.
Very Clean, no bed bugs, cheap and very near from the metro station.
I won't say this is the best hotel I have been to but for the money that I have paid and good location near the eurostar and metro station. I would definitely recommend this as on of the better choices. I stayed for 3 nights and everything is ok. No bed bugs. Quiet sleep. Friendly reception.

RespondGood location, cozy area. No frills hotel, but clean rooms, a 24-hour reception and courteous employees. In General, all that can be claimed from the hotel 2 * there.

RespondVery poorly run hotel. I had a confirmed reservation, but I arrived at 11AM and check-in was not until 2PM. It was raining pretty hard out, so I decided to wait in the lobby. At 2:30, I asked them where my room was. They said it was at another hotel two metro stations south! Unbelievable! Also, having spent that much time in the lobby, I can assure you that your bags are NOT SAFE if you decide to leave them until your room is ready. NOBODY WATCHES THEM! My advice: Book your hotel elsewhere! (Unless you like chaos! These guys are hopeless mismanaged. ).
