French Basque Country Hotels

I’ve been to the area a dozen times or so; this hotel was a very nice experience. Situated in an old renovated villa, you get high ceilings, a good bed and a bathroom with excellent shower.

Great location within easy reach of the beach and restaurants. Comfortable room. Very quiet. Charming and attentive staff. A couple of minor problems were acted on promptly when they were pointed out.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. The location was fantastic overlooking the beach & plaza. We enjoyed drinks on your terrace most nights. We ate in your restaurant one night — an amazing meal.

Nice and cozy hotel with great location overlooking the beach, and walking distance to most of the city. Rooms were nice and clean. The hotel is a bit old with some wear & tear, but not a problem.

Excellent hotel with good location. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Hotel is clean and the bed is very comfortable.

The setting is beautiful; The staff is perfect, present, attentive, attentive but very discreet.
It was a delight from beginning to end.

The hotel has a modern jet pleasant atmosphere. Professional staff. We had a beautiful room facing the ocean. A beautiful view and good climate. The ac worked very well. Al you need is facilitated.

Perfectly located. We had a wonderful stay. We were celebrating a family birthday, We had 7 rooms and all guests were extremely happy. Staff were very friendly, polite and accommodating.

We had a great 4 night stay here – we changed our booking to this hotel a couple of days before our trip as the weather was looking unsettled and we wanted to be more central.

The Art Deco ambiance of this hotel gives a real feeling of luxury. The staff are extremely welcoming, helpful and efficient.

I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful boutique hotel. The front desk staff in particular Melody were so welcoming and helpful. Room nicely appointed with everything you would require.

Just enjoyed a wonderful stay at this hotel and cannot praise it enough. Staff especially Melody were so warm and helpful at every turn. A real gem of a find. Would highly recommend it.

We stayed one night as a pit stop on a long journey with our dog. The hotel is well positioned, with beach access, free on site parking a small bar and restaurant.

Stayed here with my parents for a few days.
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful especially restaurant staff. Room was clean and large with big double and sofa bed.

We felt a team determined to make this moment magical and above all human… thank you for everything, we'll be back.

Nice hotel in a beautiful city. Not in the centre, but in walking distance.

We had a wonderful stay at hotel Jules Verne. The theme is lovely. Rooms are small but the beds, bedding and pillows were so comfy. Shower was fantastic.
Plenty of towels. Very quiet at night.

We found our room very well appointed and although ours was quite small, the space was very well arranged! Very modern with quality fittings. Lovely breakfast room and excellent choice of food.

A gem of a hotel. Everything is beautiful, well-decorated, and new. The staff are very friendly. The room has good soundproofing, perfect air conditioning, and is very comfortable.

Our second visit to Biarritz, albeit the first time here having spotted it previously. Not cheap but refreshing to stay at a boutique hotel, which is not resting on its laurels.

Very friendly and helpful staff. A clean big room with a comfy mattress. Good value for money. Quiet at night. We would go again.

Really enjoyed this hotel. Was so much better than I pictured! Stylish design, great location, feels quite modern and clean.

We were greeted by lovely Sophie upon our arrival. It was a pleasure being welcomed in such a friendly manner.

A big group of us stayed in August 2025.

OMG — such a lovely surprise. Very central location and yet it was quiet enough. Modern and tastefully decorated.

To be clear, this is really a serviced apartment, not a hotel as you might expect. No services or facilities of a usual hotel. Great location though, right in the town centre and opposite the beach.

Fantastic service! Nice rooms! And new very conveniently located hotel to explore Biarritz. We found Lorie to be very friendly, helpful and efficient in carrying out our requests.

A timeless gem on the Basque coast. Our multi-generational family group (16 of us! ) had one of the best trips ever at Sofitel Le Miramar.

This was my second trip this year to Sofitel Biarritz. I was there in February and had such a wonderful time.

We stayed at the Victoria for one week in June 2012. This review is well overdue.

In front of the beach… Great view. The staff were very friendly.

Most lovely family run traditional hotel in Biarritz. Rooms large and beautifully decorated. Hotel is quite, spotless and a very good breakfast can be had here.

Thank you very much Madam and Sir for hosting us. Very nice rooms, good breakfast and great location!
Memorable stay!
Hope to see you again!

Overall it is a very solid hotel. The location is great being close to the beach, shops and restaurants and the room was nice.

Nice little hotel, rooms were nice, comfy bed, had iron, safe, kettle, fridge, water on arrival. Didn't have breakfast here so can't comment.

Our room was large and had a kettle and mini-fridge. The hotel’s large patio is a great spot to have a beer and enjoy the view. We had dinner here and it was excellent.

We spent five nights here and it was wonderful. Ainhoa and the Oppoca are great for a relaxing retreat.

What a wonderful find! This lovely little hotel has a real summer beach / surf vibe, yet decorated modern, and in that same theme. A lovely heated pool and hot tub available for guests.

Everything was top notch. The attention to details were superb and the Staff was friendly and attentive. Lovely young people always helpful and pleasant.

Loved this hotel! The owner, Jacques, is very kind & friendly. We didn’t eat breakfast here but it looked amazing. Location is great; only a short walk to the main plaza & beach!

We loved our stay at this wonderful family run hotel! The rooms were perfect with everything we needed including aircon for the hot months.
