Great place to take a family lots to do and super friendly staff.

We stayed Jul 2022 for 7 nights, had the most amazing holiday. Staff were super friendly and helpful, totally appreciated their efforts. We had a Poolside room, which was spacious for our family of 4. Air con & fans kept us cool! Great terrace space to enjoy. Food was plentiful, tried all the Restaurants & Bars, all great options. We all had a blast with the kayaks, paddle boards, waterpark, snorkelling, sail boats and swimming.

My family and I recently had a holiday at Plantation Island and we had a wonderful time. The rooms were clean and comfy, the food in all restaurants was delicious and the staff were beyond friendly and welcoming. Every single staff member who walked past gave us a big bula and a friendly smile. There were plenty of activities on the resort to keep the kids busy and the kids club kept the kids happy and engaged in some Fijian culture. The resort is surrounded by warm, crystal clear and calm lagoon type water, plus 3 different pools. The sunsets were out of this world and we would definitely come back!

Staffs are very friendly and helpful with their beautiful fijian smiles. Food is very delicious and it makes me feel like am at home. Favourite part of my stay at Plantation island resort was making frens with the staffs at the old copra restraunt especially cracking jokes with the tauvu's.

Another fantastic holiday on planation island. So much to do and entertain all ages. New area was good, though preferred spending time snorkelling down towards Lomani. We stayed in the beach front bures and loved them. Gorgeous view even from your room. Loved the minor improvements made since our last visit such as new chairs by beach, kids pool area. Great to see new coral growing on prepared areas and so many fish. The buffet food has definitely improved since our last visit. We were told the resort was at 92% capacity during our stay but it didn’t feel that way. Recommend the sand bank snorkelling trip. Loved using the kayaks and the water park was fun too when it was open. One disappointment that despite being on the Island 7 nights we never got to do the island hop. Although heavy advertised it wasn’t on a single day we were there. Always “ captains day off”, “ private charter booked”. Can’t wait to return ASAP.

Plantation Island Resort is amazing as usual, our second home! As a regular returnee we look forward to the relaxation, the friendly staff and beautiful scenery and weather every year.

Wow what a fantastic place to enjoy our family holiday. I wish we could have stayed longer. The variety of activities was fantastic. The food was so delicious and hudge choices. We stayed in the beachfront bure being on the water gave is the luxury of watching the sunsets from our front door. The staff service throughout the entire island was amazing. Everybody was so happy and friendly. A special mention to Bill, Tito, Seta, Joby and Sana you all made our holiday extra special. I would most definitely say on behalf of my entire family our dolphin experience was our highlight. To have the boat to ourselves and be less than a meter away from these beautiful manuals was incredible they sure did put on a show for us. Overall the most fabulous place to enjoy a family holiday. It has wonderful caring staff from check in till check out times, lovely & delicious tasty food, beautiful scenes, nice clean rooms, lively evening activities, interesting daily water activities, kids activities are good, and wonderful hospitality by all staffs… and more.! A must visit destination to all families and friends where you would never regret and well worth your money. A beautiful getaway from all the hustle and bustle of a working life. Many years ago, I came ashore off HMAV ‘Bounty’ Square Rigger Ship (Sailing: Fiji>Sydney) & had dinner at the Resort. We had exclusive use of the Resort at that time. It was very nice. However, lazy, arrogant Fijians & dirty 3rd World Indians will destroy the place. Avoid!

Plantation Island Resort is our family Paradise. Where staff become family and guests mingle and become life long friends.
The only holiday where you cry tears of joy as the Catamaran docks and tears of longing for next time as you depart and wave goodbye to your beautiful Fijian friends.
We are counting down to our 3rd trip to PIR and would recommend this dream holiday destination to the world.

Beach was spectacular, something you would see off a postcard, most staff were extremely friendly, however when my family of four arrived (two adults and two older kids) the price of food was ridiculous, a meal plan for four people was $500 a day, and once you sign up for it was like a contract, you couldn’t end it. (Would’ve cost us $4000 for the time we spent there) We ended up walking down to another resort and using there cheaper convenient store and brought cereal, milk, plastic bowls and spoons. Rooms were okay, very hollow walls and occasionally woken up by screaming kids next door. Overall, would recommend booking into musket cove (a resort right next to plantation island) or making a food plan.

Absolutely loved this family friendly resort. Good value for your money and so many great activities to. The staff and people here were really welcoming and friendly. Can't reccomend this beautiful island enough. Thanks for sharing your island and culture with us! ❤

My second visit to the island and to say that everything was perfect would be an understatement. The warmth that comes from the staff makes you feel like family. All the staff are so friendly and warm and embrace all visitors, young and old. The accommodation is very well laid out, spacious and clean. Always something to do, even if it is nothing. Everyone that works on the island, from wait staff, babysitters, cleaner, activities right up to the GM all mingle with their guest adding that extra level of family feels. From welcome to farewell, there is nothing to fault. Can't wait to return again, and again.

Unfortunately we cut our 2 night stay to one night after been put by a construction zone and when we called to book we were not advised this was going on especially given we had booked directly with the resort paying $570 per night no specials. Simply not good enough. Rooms were lovely however. No complimentary milk when you are supplied everything else for a hot drink. Rooms were very dark. Service for food was extremely slow and when it did come it was cold. The whole resort felt untidy. Unfortunately it was no longer the island I remembered from my childhood and will not return to plantation island.

I took my granddaughters to PIR for five nights.
This was our first visit to Fiji, we all agreed our stay was just wonderful, the staff were simply amazing. The staff were always courteous, had a welcoming smile and nothing was to much for them to do for you to make your stay a pleasurable experience.
I cannot fault any of the staff we encountered, Oni in particular was so kind and attentive to my granddaughters who are aged 10 & 7.
Simon Manager of Reception (I think that’s his title) is an awesome person who manages a great team.
Food was plentiful and PIR presented a very good varied selection each day.
Only one area for improvement, an informative note included to advise how the charge back reconciliation process functions.
I highly recommended PIR as a great place to be with wonderful people who actually care about your experience being a wonderful set of memories.

I really enjoyed staying at Plantation Island. The best part for me was the Bula bikes! You can grab them from anywhere and bike around the resort and larger island which is so cool! Snorkelling is also pretty good, we saw these bright blue school of fish which was so cool! There was some construction going on at the poolside accommodation, which was not mentioned on the website, they said they would give us $100 discount, but somehow it ended up being only $30 discount. We only stayed one night so it was fine, but must have been annoying for other people.

It’s the second time we have been to plantation island and would return in a heartbeat. The staff have been nothing but friendly and helpful. I had issues with wi fi and they went out of their way to fix it. Yes there is a line up for the breakfast eggs but that’s because they are so good! Don’t listen to the whingers. It’s a great family holiday! Two thumbs up.

Good for families but very busy and crowded. The renovated rooms are great. The buffet is appalling. Black Coral restaurant is great. The staff however, were particularly inconsistent and even disengaged. Very unusual for Fijian's as a culture. It's as if management had given them all bad news and then told to get back to work. Sometimes I wonder if we even existed. The beach was amazing, white sand and clear blue water but there were very few (hard, uncomfortable plastic) lounge chairs and almost no shade.

Very friendly staff, great for the kids. Food is ok and sometimes very good. The beach area is very good and the pools are a great way to let the kids burn off energy while you relax. Bula bikes are a great idea.

We stayed in a studio garden bure and the room was fantastic. Overall I think this resort is more suited to families with slightly older children than mine (a baby and a toddler) there would be a lot to keep school age and up children entertained. At the time of our visit the main restaurant was closed for refurbishment which meant dining choice was very limited, once that is reopened I think I would give 4 stars.

We stayed here with 7 families and had an outstanding time, there is a huge amount for kids to do and they still ask when we are going back. Some of the units need to be updated and the pools could possibly do with upgrading but the price maybe reflects that compared with some other venues. Once I got past the fact we were on a resort island (there is no getting away from that other than visiting the other two resorts or the shop at the marina) and you pay for everything other than beach/ water toys and towels we relaxed and had a great time! Would recommend this place for relaxed families.

Nice place but this is definitely the Aussie tourist hot spot. Snorkelling is good and it has great access to other activities on the other islands. Ferry's get you to and from here.

My husband and I have just returned from a week at PIR. It was our first trip to Fiji and we are so glad we chose PIR. The staff were all so friendly and there was a great family atmosphere. Special shout out to Akuila, Marika and Waisea for all of the activities they ran and their friendliness. We enjoyed all the cultural activities as well as the swimming, snorkelling, bike riding, stand up paddle boarding and table tennis. The location is beautiful and easy to get to from the mainland. We stayed in a garden terrace bure which was serviced every day and when we told reception there was a problem with the shower it got fixed straight away the next morning. We would definitely recommend PIR as a family destination.

Located on the island Maolo Fiji very nice and cozy.

Lovely resort for families with a beautuful, safe, clean beach which includes fun inflatable water play area. Kayaks, paddle boards etc available and a nice shady bure to sit under. Stunning outlook. Spacious, cool rooms. Bikes to hire I thought were a bit expensive for adults @ $35 per day. 9 hole golf course. They are building a new reception area/ferry drop so it is a little bit unorganized for departure, thankfully it was not raining as that would make departure to the ferry a real pain as you have to walk quite a way to where the ferry comes in. No one offered to collect our bags from our room. Some staff seemed a little bit uninterested in being helpful but overall it was a lovely weekend away.

Great family holiday resort. Lots of activities for the kids with good pools, beaches, water park etc. The resort is 3 star so don't expect more and you wont be disappointed. The staff are warm and friendly, and great with kids.

Oh my God I can't wait to go back! I went only 3 weeks after surgery on my femur so was getting around on crutches but all the staff were amazingly happy and helpful, take my meals to the table for me, offering me rides back to our room, waiting for for because I was so much slower.

You will not regret booking here. Fantasic for kids. Staff are just wonderful.

We absolutely loved our family holiday here. It has such a welcoming atmosphere, kids club, water park, slide into the pool. The food is OK, not great, but definitely not bad. The rooms are lovely as well. Our girls ask all the time when we'll be going back!

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary with a family holiday at Plantation Island in July. We arrived to a song and were given a shell necklace. A cool drink while checking-in with the comfort of air-conditioning was lovely. We had a poolside room for our family of five which had everything we needed. Buffet dining was an experience but we mainly ate elsewhere. The kids spent hours on the inflatable park. Also enjoyed was snorkeling trips out to reefs, fishing trips and the snorkeling off the beach was also fantastic. We had beautiful weather and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The kids loved the kids and teenager clubs.

Had a short but wonderful and much needed holiday there. Got lots of sand, sunshine and water, loved it.

Amazing place! Had the best time, there is so much to do here and the perfect place for kids, we had our 2.5yr old daughter with us and every day we spent hours in the pools, on the beach, at the playground and on the kayaks, we also hired some Bula Bikes to get around as walking while carrying a 2year old was a bit much but also we did alot of riding around the island for fun! The mini Mart is expensive so if you can get your snacks, wine and beer at the port beforehand then do, the staff were fantastic with our daughter and so friendly, the buffets were great and children under 12 eat for free with a paying adult was really good too. We stayed for 5 nights and will definately be going back but for longer next time :)

Wow! How did I not find this place before! This is the ideal location for families who want to relax or enjoy activities. Lots of different water activities eg, floating inflatable water parks, single and double canoes, paddle boarding, parasailing and sailing. Our kids were always in the ocean participating in water activities or swimming in one of the three pools. Kids club is run really well with something different to do each day. Food was sensational with something different every day. If your happy to be on Fiji time then the service is great. Adults can play golf and the family can play putt-putt golf. Got to play touch football with the locals which was great fun. The locals play touch football every day in the afternoon. Hired some bikes for the family and did a nice scenic ride around the island. This is a great hidden paradise and you can’t beat the kind Happy workers always greeting you with a big friendly smile. The price is reasonable and what you expect to pay for relaxation and beauty. Most of the water activities are all free. Cant wait to come back and bring friends.

Plantation Island is a very nice place to holiday. The water is warm with colourful fish and coral. Enough activities to keep the whole family happy. The rooms were clean and suited our needs. The food was mostly good, some meals very tasty and some below average. The staff were very friendly and most went out of their way to help make our stay great. Definitely worth a visit or two.

Beautiful location, well set up for families. It's pretty much as you would expect — mainly families, well kept, nice waters and views. Would be good if the bikes weren't so expensive, but then again everything is quite expensive on the islands. If you have a family and are looking for a place for everyone (ie activities for all ages) then this is perfect.

So good to get away from the main land. Plenty of space to wander around the island. Great for kids. Been a few years now but we will be back.

This is our 2nd holiday on Plantation. We all love it. We spend the morning on the beach, the afternoon by the pool and the evening in the bar. Drop the kids off to kids club at 2pm and head over to musket cove for adult time and drinks at the shack on the end of the beach. Hire a bula bike and explore. Snorkel out from the jetty for amazing fish. Family-friendly activities every day.

Not as good as 2 years ago, but still a great family vacation. Think of it as a caravan on a beautiful island! Great beach, foods ok, love the outlook and protected from the wind. Will be back again.

It's a real family place although I would recommend children be around 6 years old minimum to get the most of of all the activities.

Good 1 Staff nice 2 Great location Bad 1 Getting stomach bug from drinking kavaRuined the last 7 days of holiday. 2 Kids getting ear infection from pool 3 Room and general areas run down and old. Really Really Bad 1 Food Buffet was crap generally when I could eat 2 Check out. I was charged for somebody else's room on my credit card. It was refunded 2 days later but the exchange rate has put me 64 bucks out of pocket. After 3 e mails to ask what is going on I am still waiting for an answer. we will not be back!

Bula,, enjoyed my time there food was great,, order the fish,,, everything is hot the swimming pools even,,, order two beers the service can be slowish and the 2nd beer warms up fast,,,, they need to use more ice was my biggest cripe,,, would go back,,, friendly as people.

Arriving at the island was fun and inviting as the boat came in and we were greeted with flowers. We were led to wait in a dining area where we filled out forms etc, then everything started to go downhill. We were told by the 'host' that he would return in five minutes to show us to our buret. However after an hour and a half he still didn't show up, so we had to walk around the considerably large area with all our bags till we found the buret for ourselves. We still had no idea how things 'worked' i. E. Meal choices, times, recreation facilities etc. The buret was right under a tree with swarms of mosquitos so we had to constantly ensure we were were coated in repellant. The food and restaurants are very average, with particularly awful service at the Anandas restaurant where the meal took about 80 minutes to arrive, delivered by staff who couldn't care less. In the main restaurant there were green vegetables available only on one day out of seven. The fresh fruit juice bar was almost always out of oranges and other fruit, and though there were always coconuts available, this wasn't to everyone's taste. The children were keen to ride on the banana boat, and every day they went down to book a ride, they were told that the boat had a puncture and would be 'ready tomorrow'. It was never ready.

Lovely staff, great local food buying options, great skippers to take us surfing, Anandas kokoda was awesome! Beer always cold and bar staff always willing to supply ice or limes… Great choice for a girls surf adventure. Leave the boys at home… Definitely don't go if you want peace n quiet n romance! Another 10 day holiday at Plantation Island, friendly staff, beautifully clean rooms and great entertainment nightly. My only beef is that we were at the Island 2 years ago and the food was really great, this time (July 2015) the food was very ordinary — beautiful salads, vegetables, soups and breakfasts but the meat and chicken was very fatty and dry. Just a very small negative, but I thought you would like the feedback. Bring back the chef from 2013! Thanks again for a great holiday…

Got home with bed bug bites all over our bodies. Resort also requires major update. Restaurants are average and over priced.

Yes a 3 star resort. And food is I think a great standard for a native Fiji an island community cooking western food. People need to remember they r not traveling to a first world country. The staff are amazing. Especially with children. Best family resort. We have been 3 times now and will go back again and again.

It's a 3 stars resort, so the food and accommodation is. Well, 3 stars, however I thoroughly enjoyed the stay there, staff is very friendly and accommodating, the surroundings are very nice.

Nice resort, larger than most but can be busy in school holidays, great place for children and lots to do on the island. Such beautiful friendly staff who go out of their way to please you. Not the place to go for a romantic getaway though.
