I am very happy with my lodging experience at Victoria Guest House. I walk to the African Union and back every day and it is a safe and pleasant walk, if both ways end uphill for the last block and a half or two. I booked directly so they upgraded me for free to a deluxe room, which means I have a bedroom and a separate living room with a small fridge, a desk, two sofas and a TV. On TV the only channel I can see is France24 in English, as all the rest seem to be in languages I do not understand, but that is fine as I am in Ethiopia! The bed is super comfortable and the shower has good water pressure and hot water 24/7. They clean every day and everything works as it should. I just wish there were a better lamp on the desk (there is none, I brought one of the two that are on the night stands but they barely give any light) and that there was a microwave. Breakfast is included in the restaurant downstairs and it is very good. They have fresh juices of apple, mango, orange, carrot with ginger, cucumber with ginger and honey, or any combination thereof. They have pankakes, eggs, oats with fruits, nuts and seeds, and lots of other options. Beware, the included breakfast cannot cost more than 200 birrs, but it is enough for my oats, juice and latte, so I have no complains. At night they are open for dinner; the tuna salad is to DIE for. I don´t know what spices they use but OMG, is it good.
