Pros: Excellent Location, friendly staff, comfortable beds.
Cons:
No elevator, and the rooms are at the top of the building so you have to take a lot of steps every time.
Bathroom Bidet and shower doesn’t work well, had to use their guest bathroom which is pretty clean but has no locks.
Your apartment is basically the bed and that’s it, no towels, slippers, fridge, etc.
First and second floor look very horrible and run down, third floor and up were the hotel is is very clean and beautiful tho.
Wifi is very slow, basically none existent.
My stay at Gresham Hotel was unfortunately a negative experience.
I felt unsafe throughout my stay. A staff member falsely claimed to be a manager and made inappropriate advances, including requesting my friend's room number and name. The hotel lacks an elevator, which was extremely inconvenient, especially with luggage.
While the room was Okay, it had a strange odor and was poorly equipped with only one smelly blanket.
The service was inconsistent. Two staff members, Adham and Islem, were exceptional and very helpful, particularly with our luggage. However, the overall experience with other staff was disappointing.
I would not recommend this hotel and certainly won't be returning.

I stayed here for a week, so here’s an honest review:
If you’re looking for an affordable private room in downtown Cairo, Gresham Hotel is an option. However, there are some things you should know:
The hostel feels almost abandoned, with very few guests. When we entered our room, it was clear that no one had stayed there for a long time—tables and wardrobes were covered in dust.
I ended up using my own blanket and pillowcase because the hotel’s didn’t look clean or fresh.
The elevator doesn’t work, so be prepared to climb four floors every time.
There was no internet for the first two days, and when it finally worked, it was extremely slow.
Our shower was broken, and it took two days for it to be fixed.
There is no housekeeping service. You have to manage your trash yourself, either keeping it in the room or leaving it outside. As you can see in some photos, there were piles of garbage in the corridor.
Lastly, there’s ongoing construction in the building, so you might wake up to loud noises and you can’t use the balcony.
