Starlight Mountain Lodge SIGCHOS

Absolutely beautiful location overlooking a lush green valley. My girlfriend and I were treated amazingly well — the owner was so friendly, the food was delicious, and the rooms were cozy and clean. Cannot recommend this place more for anyone doing the Quilotoa loop or staying in Sigchos.

Highly recommend staying here a night or two before starting the trail. Mayra and Victor are lovely people and wonderful hosts. And bonus friendly dog.
The beds are comfortable, the food is great and the views are epic. It’s located right at the start of the trail, but it’s such a nice relaxing spot, definitely consider a few days just chilling out.

My son and I stayed here in April 2025. This was an Amazing experience! The room was great and the "main house", where meals are served and other activities are enjoyed (billiards, games) was fantastic. Victor and Myra were kind and gentle hosts, and the meals were superb. Finally, the property is very serene and the views from it, of the rolling hills and valleys, were "to die for". I highly recommend this place!

A great place to stay before the Quillota loop, great to stay and get an early start to hopefully beat any afternoon rain. The room was lovely with a beautiful view. The food was tasty and the portions were large especially breakfast. The whole place is very chilled and the hosts are lovely people.

Our stay at Starlight lodge was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality that made us feel right at home. The lodge offers breathtaking views of the mountains, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The rooms were cozy and comfortable, with a charming fireplace in the communal area that added to the overall ambiance. Every meal was a delight, dinner was truly amazing, and breakfast was just as satisfying, setting us up perfectly for the day ahead.
If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with stunning scenery, delicious food, and outstanding hospitality, Starlight is the place to be. Highly recommended!

Such a beautiful location. Definitely recommend staying the night in Sigchos before you start the hike just to stay here. Lovely dinner and breakfast included.

Super cute rooms and lovely management! Dinner and breakfast were both filling and if you are hiking the quilotoa loop make sure you get a packed lunch — great value at $3 :)
They also have a very cute and friendly dog which is a bonus!

Victor runs an amazing operation and is such a kind of knowledgeable host. The views from the Starlight are unmatched — you can see the whole Quilotoa route. Highly recommend!

A very homely place with an amazing view from the room, the hosts are lovely. The location of the hostel on the trail of the Quilotua way. Really recommend to do a night there before you start the walking.

This is a super nice hostal to stay before you start the Quilotoa loop. The rooms have an amazing view, and are clean. The dinner and breakfast are both delicious and healthy. There is also a mercado etc. In Sigchos to get lunch. The owners are also super kind and they have a nice dog. Very much recommended!

Right at the trailhead of the Quilatoa loop. About 1 km away from Sigchos and sitting on a ridge, it possesses amazing mountain views. I was never tired looking at the mountains and clouds during my stay. The amenity was fairly simple, but decent enough for you to have a good sleep before kicking the trail. They also provided dinner and breakfast, plus purified water for hikers to fill up. Great place to stay if you'd like to arrive in Sigchos before start hiking the next day!

Just a few days ago we stopped at Starlight Inn for lunch before beginning the first section of the Quilotoa Loop. It was a beautiful day and just behind the restaurant the Inn has an amazing look out point. The place is owned by a family and they serve local and delicious food. For example, we had chuleta, or pork chops, with rice, radish slices, and lentils. The juice was fresh babaco or starfruit and it was so refreshing. The llama they have is quite the character too, his name is Rocky and he can be a bit cranky but he is super photogenic!

The double room was a quaint cabin apart from the main home. Plenty of heavy blankets provided for the cool night. The common areas are heated; we particularly enjoyed the reading area, but there is also a billiards table!
Rambo, the hostal’s sweet puppy was an added bonus!

Lovely small hostel just outside of Sigchos. Very relaxed atmosphere and unique architecture. View from the property is stunning. Complementary breakfast and dinner are not only delicious but healthy. Would highly recommend this spot to any travels going through the area.

What a wonderful place to stay! I felt so welcome and warm, like I came to visit my family! The dinner and breakfast were amazing, huge portions and very delicious. Fresh pressed juice was great as well. The best value during our Ecuador visit. Oh, and did I mention the views?

We stayed at Starlight Inn before our first day hiking the Quilotoa trail. It has been slow because of lots of recent news about instability in Ecuador but our stay was nothing but calm and beautiful! Mayra cooked dinner and breakfast for us and was available to answer all of our questions about the area. She was born and raised in Sigchos, so this is the place to stay if you want to support a very local business. In the morning, the sun was shining and the views of the surrounding mountains were amazing.
