Minka Hostel

This was such a great stay! We only had one day and night since we flew to the Galapagos the next day, but we immediately felt at home. Alexandra was such a great host, she made us feel as if we would stay at a friends home. We booked their airport taxi service and everything worked perfectly. At the hostel we rented a double room and it was so luxurious. We are not lying, it was one of the best beds we slept during our long trip, it was huge and the sheets were super soft! 😍 Also, the bathroom was giant, and everything was perfectly clean.
The hosts gave us many good tips were to (and where not) and we wished we stayed for another to explore the city better.

Very nice hostal in the center of Quito. Danilo, his wife and staff made our stay an incredible experience. Not only can they help you out with all your needs with an easy to navigate site and recommendations, they also cater to your every need. From the time we arrived early in morning where they made the room for us even though we were in advance to the misadventure we lived in the Teleferico where Danilo went out of his way to bring us back in the middle of the night. Thank you Danilo.

This place is awesome! First, the owners are super kind and helpful they make you feel like you’re home. Anytime we had questions they were always there to help us and guide us. They helped us book a taxi from the airport and gave us information and a map of the city to help us get navigated. We booked one of the private rooms and it was great! The room was really spacious with a big bed. The bathroom was also big with warm water which was a plus. We loved how quiet the hostel was at night because sleep is important for us when traveling.
They also provided breakfast with coffee, juice, eggs and toast with ham and cheese. They provide tours if you want to go places and will give you information on where to go. The location is also SUPER SAFE. There’s a great market like a minute away with lots of fruits and medicinal things. Lots of restaurants in the area and Ubers are all super cheap. If you’re loving for a safe, welcoming place I would definitely stay here :)

Fantastic location and amazing staff. Affordable, well equipped, and well positioned so everything is a fairly reasonable Uber/taxi/bus ride away. Also provide lots of free advice to help make your stay in Quito and Ecuador even better! I highly recommend you stay here if you are a solo traveller or group looking for a good base camp during your stay in Quito.

Great place at a reasonable price. Super comfortable and clean rooms, hot showers, and a nice breakfast included. The staff is super helpful, great tips on where to visit (and where not to). Close to major bus line and walking distance to Mariscal Sucre district with lots of restaurants, pubs, clubs, and shops. Highly recommend.

Home far away from home.
Nice, clean and familiar hostel. Staff is SO helpful and really wants to make every stay in Quito as good as it can get.
Plus: It‘s family owned, not a big chain. That‘s what you feel as well when you are there.

He developed a website with all informatuon about traveling in Ecuador. This is really helpful to plan your trip! The owner gave us really good advices and helped us with our journey.

This hostel has everything you need: friendly, helpful staff, an excellent homemade breakfast (by far the best I've had at a hostel), clean rooms, clean/functioning toilets/showers, and several comfortable common spaces to hang out. It seemed relatively quiet when we were there, not too many travelers, but the atmosphere was nice. Having to buzz in and out of the hotel was strange, but we didn't have any issues (including when we returned late at night). The only drawback is it does not appear to be in the most popular area of town. We didn't walk anywhere from this hostel and instead took taxis (which were cheap, so not a big deal), just because our short walk when we first arrived didn't allow us to see much of anything. There is a large church nearby, so perhaps more attractions were in that direction.

The hosts were super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here if you are ever in Quito.
