Cinnamon House

Beautiful and quiet hostel — private room was lovely and very comfortable and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would 100% recommend if you want a peaceful stay. They also offer a $4 breakfast which is huge.

Cinnamon house is a beautiful hostel. Very clean and walking distance into town. We had a lovely stay there while in Mindo. The beds were comfy and the kitchen is fully equipped and clean. My only comment would be that there is no door in the balconies — except a screen — so you cannot block barking dogs noises from outside. Definitely need earplugs when the dogs go crazy but overall I didn't mind too much. My main issue was that there was no activities organized by the hostel and it felt a bit lifeless. It was too quiet in my opinion and the staff were pretty absent. Like they did not want to be involved in the hostel that much. I still enjoyed my stay but I would like some more life in the hostel.

Lovely place and staff happy to help me organize a taxi etc (although not around in the evenings). Loved the hummingbirds and pets! Dorms are great with curtains and chargers. Only complaint, the bathrooms could have been cleaner.

Very quiet and nice areas to hang out. Amazing hot showers, and everything is very clean. The dorm rooms have a horrible musty smell that is in the sheets as well, the ventilation is horrible. The room is not well sealed from the outdoors so there was some cockroaches in the room and bed.

I volunteered here last year and just remembered to write a review! Beautiful open building, feels close to nature, pet friendly, nice rooms, lovely common space. I really enjoyed my stay here :)

Very cool place with a big chill area, lots of hammocks and in our private room we had a balcony with views of the mountains and trees. Neat artwork on the walls, trees and plants where you can watch hummingbirds. Very affordable price.

Very nice hostel, looks almost brandnew, lovely decoration, clean, good Wi-Fi, relaxed atmosphere, perfect kitchen. Only improvement could be some decent chairs, the benches aren't so comfortable. Conclusión : a place where you'd easily like to extend your stay.

Cinnamon House is the best! It's super chill, with lots of hammocks and seating in the common areas. All the facilities are cleaned regularly. The kitchen has all you need to prepare food if you need. The beds in the dorms are super comfy as well.
The hostel is in a quiet spot about a 5min walk from the centre of town.
Isabela is a total legend, a genuinely lovely person who is also helpful with tips on what to do in and around Mindo. Could not recommend Cinnamon House enough!

Cinnamon House is a backpacker's dream! The moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the staff, instantly feeling part of the community. Isabela was really kind providing information. The hostel's open spaces are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Whether you're lounging in a hammock or hanging out in the social area, the vibe is super chill and makes it easy to meet fellow travelers.
The communal kitchen is well-equipped and clean, making it a great spot to cook up some meals and share stories with others. Plus, the location couldn't be better—just a short walk from the center of Mindo, where you can find everything you need, from local eateries to tour agencies.
If you're looking for a laid-back, comfortable place to stay while you soak in all the beauty Mindo has to offer, Cinnamon House is the place to be. I can't wait to come back.

LOVED THIS HOSTEL!
Mindo is amazing and cinnamon House is paradise! Comfy beds, hot showers, clean equiped kitchen, amazing location, beautiful surroundings, the best staff… can’t ask for more.
Not many places you can have a coffee in a hammock and have hummingbirds feeding 2 metres from your face!
I see a few whingers in previous reviews. This is Mindo, it’s slow and laid back. If you expect a concierge to be awaiting your every beck and call rather stay in a hotel in a city.

Overall not the most pleasant place I stayed. There is thousands of flies hanging around the kitchen and although the hostel is quite open, there is little air flowing through meaning it's packed with mosquitoes. For a hostel with 3 dorms that have about 22 beds, there is 2 toilets and 2 showers divided into male and female. There was 8 people in total when I stayed and kind and if anymore it would have been a pain waiting For the showers.
Also the manager / owner seems like she doesn't want to be there, brushing of a greeting I gave her in the morning as she rushed out and disappeared for the morning.
Wasn't very welcoming although the volunteer at the check in was very nice and I appreciate her work there.
2 lovely dogs and cat made the experience better.
Rooms are full of mosquitoes so they buzz in your ear all night while they feed on you. No nets on windows and doors left wide open don't help.

Beautiful open common area where we loved to hang out and listen to the sounds of birds chirping. Friendly staff, good breakfast and there's a water filling station. Would 100% recommend to visit Mindo and Cinnamon House is a great place to stay, especially for the price.

The hostel is really pretty and in a great location. It feels peaceful and cosy. However, the bedroom was not as clean as it should be. The bedsheets felt unwashed and already sweaty. Reception service was also really inconsistent. Sometimes I wanted to talk to staff and no one was there.

Nice cozy hostel. It has around 8 rooms and all the things you need. We stayed a few nights in a private and the room was spacious. Kitchen was well equipped and hostel was clean. They offered some tours and the staff was super friendly. The common area was nice to hang in the evening.

Stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Mindo (which we loved)
Pros.
— Water bottle fill up and shared kitchen.
— Towels replaced / room cleaned after two days.
— Amazing being in amongst the jungle and loved the humming birds.
— Great reception area to chill out in when it was raining.
— Super close to town.
Cons.
— Hard to find anyone at reception.
— Our room and only window looked over the reception area which was quite strange (ask for a room at the back! )

I stayed here a couple of months back. Absolutely love this hostel! It’s so homey and cosy with lovely dorms, showers and common areas. Cute pets too! The staff were so lovely and helpful. Highly recommend.

Fantastic hostel — feels like a tree house! Common area is nice, very large… so social aspect was great. Shared kitchen was well stocked and allowed making our own breakfast. Location is great with just a short walk to town… perfect location with so much to do in Mindo!
