I am very easy to please when it comes to my travels! I enjoy a nice beach with nice blue water and good food and this place offers neither. This is an "all inclusive" resort yet to have access to the internet or certain pools and bars you needed to pay more money. And we also had a $200 resort credit which they would not allow you to use in whole and had to break it up in $50 increments forcing you to spend the remaining balance on a massage or romantic dinner. Highly disgusted and disappointment would not recommend nor return ever again! The only recommendations are to stay away because for the money you'll be spending you deserve better!

They really push the vacation program the first day. I wont say we wasted 1/2 a day but our "appointment" was at 830 and finished around lunch. Expected a huge down payment and allthough there is huge value in the program, it was not economic for us. They were slightly pushy about it but once we explained our situation, backed off. Seaweed. It's a pain. It's ugly. It's not that smelly except in the mornings when it has a high sulfur smell. It detracted us from getting in the ocean initially however it was fine once we were in. Worth the trip but would choose a different resort to spend time at. Food is okay at best and the Europeans that come here can be pushy with little to no concept of a line forms in the rear and first come first served. Chopsticks was probably the best of all the restaurants here. Don't be afraid of the hamburgers. They are good with guacamole!

Currently at this resort I came with my daughter and granddaughter for my daughter's birthday this week. The resort is very nice they keep it clean and the staff is very nice. We upgraded to the Sun Club and it was well worth the extra money. The Sun Club pool was kept clean and staff was always cleaning up after the guest. Met a worker Denzel at the pool who is just fantastic also both the barmaid and the bartender at the swim up pool are excellent. Overall everyone on the staff has been polite and helpful throughout our stay. I've seen complaints about seaweed on the beach but that is no the resorts fault and they have staff constantly trying to clean it up. I couldn't be more happier with choosing this resort and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good vacation.

Overall, this hotel was pretty nice! Unfortunately, I always end up staying at bad hotels but this exceeded my expectations! The grounds were in great shape and beautiful, the room was nice, an average room. The food was fine, a typical all-inclusive, it would be a hit or miss at times, but I lived through it and I am picky! There was entertainment every night and it was fun! The service/staff was good, but a typical Dominican attentiveness. The pools and beach were beautiful and fun! There were all ages and families and couples at this hotel! I would suggest that you know a bit of Spanish, the majority of the employees only know a little bit of English. In a nutshell, I totally recommend this hotel for everyone, families or couples!

Me and my husband just came back from a 7 nights stay at the resort and I am very happy to share our experience. I won't go into description about the resort as I see many people did it already, will just share my opinions about the stay. The resort looks so beautiful, exotic and clean. It is true that the beach and the water are not amazing now, but that's nature's business anyway. We stayed in building 24, could see the ocean from the balcony and it was pleasure to wake up with the view every morning. The pools were our favourite, with clean, warm water, plenty of sun, not crowded, not deep which for me was a good point. The restaurants provided good food, we eat once in the French, once in the Olive brunch and twice in the Sunny Side/ grill restaurant, the rest of the times we went to Windows. Here I loved the water with lemon or cucumber flavours, I found it as a good idea! The bars were great, handy to get a refresher when the temperature goes up to 31-32°C. I loved the fact that they don't give straws with the drinks just broke my heart that they are using plastic cups. If you have a traveller's mug just bring it with you and have the drinks in it. About the staff… I was unhappy to see reviews where they are called rude. But we were very well treated, I remember Santa, Maribel, Jennifer, Maria which was greeting us at Windows. I don't remember names but I remember smiles, small chats, nice atmosphere. And the last… the entertainment team and programs!

From the harassing entry to the bad food and to finish with the resort charging me for a broken door that already existed. They refused to check us out until we paid for it. 200 bucks for old and already broken door. Almost made me miss my flight. I highly would NOT recommend this Resort. Spend your hard earned money else where. Our experience other than that was great such as scuba diving. The place looks nice and the beach is ok. Just watch out for the staff. Buyer Beware.

Very nice place. Very clean and good eating… just run out of Ceasar. And the big chair at the Loby not comfortable at all. But spend a great nice week…

We have spend here one week in November 2017. We really liked our stay. The room was clean (a bathroom may needs some updates), food at restaurants was fresh and tasty, but it would be nice if they had more variety throughout the week. Restaurant's staff was very friendly and helpful but there were times that we had a hard time to get their attention. We really enjoyed staying at the beach, it seemed that sea weeds were cleared daily so no problem with this aspect. There were also palm tree at the parameters of the beach giving some shade if needed. There were a lot of activities for adults and kids including movie night and s’mores at the beach. If it wasn’t for these few things I have mentioned I would have given 5 stars.

Very nice hotel The food is very good, the employees very courteous, my there beach is very ordinary, the buffet is as good as the restaurants. The casino is very small 5 slot machine, I would recommend this hotel.

We really liked the service of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Super entertaining. The food and the room spotless. The only thing that bothered us was that we shopped the artisans (who don't belong to the Hotel) and they charged us for products they didn't give us. Too bad we realized when we got to our country. Notice so that they don't happen to other people. We trusted that we had placed everything bought in the bag and it was not. A shame as they were gifts for friends.

Great staff, lots of fun, plenty of entertainment. Clean rooms. Staff, and management were very attentive. The alcohol is not top shelf but for the price, no complaints. Food was very good. Specialty restaurants were well done. Again for the price you can't beat this. Walking the beach was a lot of fun.

I don't know how and where to start.
We are here for the third time and have found that a lot has changed.
The rooms are all refurbished and have great showers and beds, the room size is also OK.
The towels are quickly forgiven and from 11. Oo your no chance to get any more because most guests all bunkers.
The food is very varied, but it is lacking in the preparation, often everything is chewy or dry.
Much works only with the necessary dollar as a tip.
The sand bags located in front of the beach do not prevent the water from bathing.
The drinks are often distributed in unsightly plastic cups in the evening.
Overpriced prices. Cigarettes 9 USD instead of 5. Ritter Sport Chocolate also 9 USD, outside in the shop 4 USD.
We have to go somewhere else next year.

Excellent hotel. Perfect and well-maintained facilities. The food was good and varied. Excellent animation. The beach is good although it is true that the tubes are not cute in sight but it is the only way to stop the swell.
The best: The staff of animation (King Kong, Chocolate and Pikee the best: The people of Sea Pro in the water sports part are rude, do not greet, never want to work and if you are lucky that they deign to work they do not even help you to climb the kayak.

Beautiful double resort with lovely landscapes and tropical scenery. Both the Sunscape Bavaro and Dominican have direct beach access so you don't have to leave the resort. White sandy beaches with dazzling turquoise seas that even seem to illuminate at night under moonlight. There are a wide variety of restaurants with tasty cuisines. This resort is loaded with aquamarine swimming pools as well as pool bars in most. Very fun and attentive staff who have a knack for making you feel at home. Excursion planning can be done through the resort or through nearby stores.

Lovely scenic resort, nice staff. The dinner buffets were underwhelming and we stopped going after first night. It was tepid food, poor organization where all main courses were on a small island — style counter that everyone was in a circle and lined up for, instead of using outside counters to spread out the crowd. A la cartes were great, the Japanese place was so great we went twice (but will be same stir fry each time). Would've preferred if we needed/could make reservation for a la care since sometimes the waits for a table could be quite long. Nice pool with swim up bar, nice white beach. The bartenders were all very friendly and generous with their alcohol! Lots of pool activities to participate in or watch and be entertained. Biggest reason the star level is medium was the clear lack of room cleaning staff. We were even on the first floor but our room would never be cleaned before 5pm when the sun was going down and we were back in getting ready for dinner. Even when we requested an earlier cleaning at the front desk, the attendant called someone, said it would be so but no change. Some dead cockroaches in and around rooms, I just expect bugs/lizards in tropical countries. Was weird there was a notice on our door they wanted to fumigate our room that somehow "wouldn't harm humans" while we were there.

The staff is very friendly. Upon arrival they wanted to charge me for the stay I had already paid days before. The food is not varied and the little there is not memorable. She lets herself eat because she's dead, but no more. In the pool area it is impossible to get place like the towels. They gave me room with 2 beds when I specifically requested on my reservation that I wanted a single one. The hours in the bars are limited and complex, and the quality of the drinks is highly questionable. I would definitely not go back or recommend it.

We will start with the positive, the staff is very friendly and attentive. That being said, everything else is negative. I was greeted with a bill that I had already paid. The food is regular, acceptable. There is little choice. The bars are limited and do not cope with the same as the beach chairs and pool. Alcoholic beverages are bad. The service of towels is insufficient in the area of pool and beach. A hotel with a lot of potential but with flaws that make a difference. I wouldn't come back.

The hotel is lovely, the employees very friendly and attentive, rooms beautiful with beds comodisimas. The buffet food could be improved, but the restaurant is very good. The pools are very nice. And the hotel offers many activities throughout the day. Definitely a holiday to repeat.

Super hotel! I loved it! The only disadvantage of breakwaters and so basically pros!

Was an amazing time! The grounds were always clean and well maintained. There food was good and there was a descent selection. The staff were AMAZING I really can't say enough. They all went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember. The nightly entertainment at the theatre, dancing in the lounge, activities all day at the pools and beaches. We will definitely be going back.

Their love only Americans. Russian is not respected.

Excellent assessment in all very good security on the beach and the animators super competent, the buffet very complete and the staff very responsible and very nice, the performances very good of the theatre and the area of the coffee super well miss APRIL super lovely! Very welcoming and friendly. The food is good and less if it is not weekend. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The truth is that it is a good place to spend time as a family.

Very good hotel with a constant improvement in its gastronomic offer, have been improving and now the snack is in the area of the beach with options of pizza, hamburger, today I give and nachos, besides that the beach rebuilt and this excellent. Family and singles options a very good album, with a live DJ Preshow on Friday and Saturday.
Very good choice in Punta Cana.

Fun and great staff. The food is not the "best", but for an all inclusive, it is perfect. A few excellent restaurants where the food is delicious. Weekend locals visiting ruined my vacation there with the loud and rude visitors… Not all of them. But the few that were there made it uncomfortable. Will definitely visit again.

I stayed that this hotel for one week and it was one of the worst experience I have ever had. The first night I arrive, there was no towels in the room, no pillow slips and one of the beds broken down. Called for towels on the First nights, I did not receive it until the next day at 10 a. M. ; Second night, they did put any hand or face towels in the room; Third night, the fire alarm went off 6 times and to resolve the situation, they disconnected the fire alarm in the hallway (see pic) ; Fourth day the fridge started to leak, once again we call and it took them the entire day to clean up the water in the room. Fifth day, I purposely left make up on the pillow slip to see if they are changing the bed sheet, wasn't surprise when I see that they clean the room but did not change the linens, except turning pillow over on the other side. There is no day that goes by when something did not happens. The majority of the waiters/waitress are very rude. The last day, you would not believe that we all got sick. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Most of all, how could you unplug a fire alarm and not have it working there was a read fire. This hotel needs to have some standards especially when you have people of different nationality and 3/4 of the staff does not speak or understand English. You cannot communicate with them, even by making signs they still do not understand you.

We bought our trip there with Cheap Caribbean and that is what this hotel is. Cheap not as inexpensive. Rather unsofisticated. Not bad. Just not a four star hotel. Food is fresh with limited choices. Service is friendly and if they forget to clean your room twice in a row they still do it after a reminder. As 3 star hotel they would have a shot on a better review. As 4 star their mark is C plus.

I was this weekend at the Hotel Sun Scape Bavaro 17al19/2017 The physical plant is more or less good the hotel in if it is acceptable the rooms are nice but the service is horrible the food is bad and without variety the staff especially the restaurant window is gros Ero poorly spoken and have no education are nothing to be hamaable only treat the tourist of other countries the Dominican Turisa not respect my experience in that hotel with the staff was horrible and among them discussed in front of the guests seems that there is no good hambientes the Boral complain that they have many hours of work. Everyone who goes to a hotel decea be well treated please check Sun employees are doing a lot of damage to that chain I went last year to the hotel in Puerto Plata and the thing was different good deal with the staff I thought this would be ygual but I did not recommend this HOT The only one by the staff who treats the guests badly OK.

OK for the price. Food is sufficient but nothing to rave about. No wristbands and no reservations required for restaurants is nice. Service is OK (nothing is urgent on island time). Clean as can be for a high turnover business (I did see a few roaches if that particularly bothers you). I don't have anything to complain about, but I wouldn't stay here again. The all inclusive nature felt restrictive rather than convenient due to the only OK food.

We left as a couple for 15 days in late August, early September and we keep only wonderful memories.
The hotel in itself is extremely well maintained from the inside as from the outside.
As for the ambiance, there are for all tastes and I would say even for all the moods of the day… Whether you are looking for calm or looking for a boosted atmosphere you will find the appropriate place!
The staff is simply at the TOP and on the lookout for all of our needs. In 15 days we did not meet a single person who did not have a smile to the lips!
We fell right at the time of Irma's passage and everything was managed for the best.
The animation team is absolutely fantastic and it is also in large part thanks to it that we had a wonderful holiday!
If we had to specify a small downside it would be the presence of algae on the beach but they take them off as and so nothing very nasty!
To sum up it is a big thank you that we address this beautiful team that has made our holiday a privileged moment!

Excellent atmosphere, beautiful facilities. Animation: Excellent, lots of energy and dedication on the part of its staff. He performs many entertainment activities both in the day and at night.
They have 12 restaurants but not a lot of variety between the different days.
Good customer service.

Everything is good, the atmosphere (very family), nice and helpful staff. Comfort and food is on the go. Proximity to the outside shops.
The Mediterranean and Japanese Restaurant are really good! I recommend it!
Too bad there is no Dominican restaurant, although you can find some of these dishes at the buffet. ☺ ️ only snag on the board and that the hotel is for nothing: an eco-system problem on this part of the coast forced the hotel to install waves breezes to avoid the rise of water and the invasion, whatever already present, algae. That being said, one can walk left or right the beach for 15 minutes to bathe with much less waves.

The hotel was decent but the beach is pumped up:) showered and are breakwaters or something like that, the water stagnates and turns the swamp.

We have been at this gorgeous resort in a Sun Club room for five days, and I must say we are pampered to no end. The food at all the restaurants, including the buffets have been outstanding… lots of variety and delicious… no complaints at all. All the staff are very professional, friendly and will always try their best to meet your every need. Staff are always smiling and friendly, always asking if you need anything else. Rooms are very comfortable, well decorated and a very good size, and the housekeepers do an excellent job at cleaning your room. We have two days left and will definitely come back. Lots of pool areas, no problems getting beach towels, and the activities directors are lots of fun and full of energy. We usually spend the morning on the beach and the afternoon at the pools, and never have had a problem finding chairs. We travel lots to southern resorts and we absolutely love it here and are planning to return this Winter.

Good place in terms of view, location and service by staff. Extremely poor and unhelpful in terms of management interactions and customer care. The management would ditch you when you are in dire need of help. We were there, unfortunately, when the place was about to be affected by hurricane Irma. The resort management did not provide any useful information in terms of how they were going to manage the situation. They simply dropped off a single page alert that the government released; but said nothing about how they were going to manage the guests in the resort. Finally, our vacation package operator, Westjet, informed us that they were evacuating us from the resort back to our home (which was communicated to us by the resort). When I asked the resort management to partially refund the upgrade fee that I had paid for a room upgrade, as I was leaving early, they did not care to do so, simply stating that it was not resort policy.

The beach may not be much, but overall great.

Was there 8/27 to 9/1. I was very worried heading to Sunscape due to the reviews that I read here but as soon as we got there I was relieved. The hotel and its service were great. The food was good and there are different restaurants that you can dine. I would like to see more Dominican food but I would definitely recommend the hibachi. The only stomach problems I had were from eating too much. The only disappointment was the beach but as was told the hotel is located on the Atlantic Ocean side hence why the water is rough and has much seaweed but no worries because the pools were great and not crowded. Even better we were able to travel to Saona Island to the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea. The rooms were clean and the people and entertainment were great. I would like to personally thank the staff and people of Punta Cana for making it a memorable vacation. I will definitely be back!

Great place, great beach, entertainment, service.

Overall a horrible experience and we are still having stomach problems. Food is simply bad specially in Windows buffet. Overall hygiene and handling of food leaves lot to be desired and I think that's what caused all the issues we had. Rooms are overall good and some rooms on the third floor have air conditioning issues so please avoid. Room services takes forever and communication is a huge issue. Knowledge of Spanish is helpful and please tip. They are short of staff and that's evident aplenty. Please avoid Chopsticks the Chinese place, one of the worst Chinese food I ever had. Overall please avoid for your own sake as this is not going to be a vacation for sure.

Stayed there from 8.5.17 — 8.9.17. Very nice resort. Right on the beach. We had to wait over an hour to get into our room due to it being cleaned still. We booked though apple vacations and later we found out we should have told them and they would have gotten us a different room. Nightly entertainment was awesome! I love to watch dance shows, shows about their culture, etc. The rooms were nice and clean, bathroom is updated and super nice! The beds and pillows were a little hard to my liking. Foods decent at buffets. Breakfast was the best with fresh fruit juice made to order. Restaurant we're okay, small portion sizes, get double of everything! Dessert at the restaurants were amazing! The beach was not the best, small area to sit. Get there early to get a good seat. There is seaweed everywhere. It washes on shore and it's in the ocean floating. They use a bulldozer to remove the seaweed everyday and load it into a dump truck. Bulldozer smells bad when it's out every morning! Ocean isnt as clear as I thought it would be. But over all the service was great, employees were very nice. I would go back.

Since I am stuck in my room unable to get far from the bathroom this last day of our vacation, I thought it would be a good time to write a review. First I'll start with the positive. The rooms were pretty clean. The concierges are very nice and accommodating. It is in Punta Cana, the excursions were great! The bartender by the pool was friendly. The lady at the spa that did my daughter's hair was nice. When we first got to the hotel, we had no idea who to trust. Who worked here? Who was trying to sell us stuff? Who was pushing the time share (that they say is not a time share but a "vacation club")? We had no clue. We just wanted to get to the beach. Once we saw the beach I nearly cried. It is awful. It is small, it is eroded, there is a huge slope you have to walk or trip I should say, down to get to the water. The things that are in the water to prevent erosion look like huge cement beached whales. We all just stood there staring, speechless. Going back to our room we had to pass by VERY pushy peddlers that were lining all of the walkways. They were calling us, wouldn't leave us alone, it was far from relaxing. Apparently, they are there every other day. Don't believe them when they say they will not be back because they will. It got to the point where my kids didn't want to walk around the resort because these people would call them over and annoy them. They would stand in front on you in the walkway so you couldn't get through without having to walk around them.

Good for the price. We paid $1400 for 7 days all inclusive with charter flight from Cincinnati. Don't come here and expect high end service. Entertainment at night has been good. Food is only okay compared to other resorts we've stayed. When you check in they want to get you into a vacation club. Multiple nights with vendors trying to sell there stuff. Gets kind of annoying everywhere you turn. Most resorts have one night and central location if you want to shop. No reservations for "speciality" restaurants but they aren't all available every night. Room was okay. Some people have had room service issues. Service at buffets for drinks isn't good. No servers around pool. Drinks very on strength. Best dinner was Chopsticks hibachi side.
