Hotel Ansgar

Situated near the main church and near the waking street etc, this is a simple oldish hotel. Reasonably spacious rooms with basic facilities such as good quality bed, nice towels and non-fancy bulk toiletaries, but no in-room facility for tea/coffee making, but you can get free tea/coffee in the lobby all the time. Buffet breakfast with eggs, susages, and other regular items was of OK quality. The reception staff was very welcoming and helpful. For parking, the municipality's parking buidling across the hotel is pretty cheap and convenient. Hotel is all fine and good, but the town has very little life since the UK-Denmark ship connection stopped almost 20 years ago.

Location great, service not so bad. If you need close proximity to the main shopping street, this could work for you. But if you value a good nights sleep, this isn't it.
Room not great. Hotel in general smelled old. Wooden floor underneath the carpet is making a lot of noise so you'll hear everyone walking. Thin walls.
Bathroom had spiderwebs and the sink looked close to cracking.

The hotel is located in a nice location in center of the city. But the property is rather dated and very basic. But I liked the breakfast arrangement and the receptionist is quite approachable on the phone and in person.

Very historical hotel with beautiful and comfortable lobby lounge. If ranking the quality of hospitality of all sectors, front desk is number one, next is dinning, the last one and the weak link is housekeeping. First night, the soap dispenser was empty, dirty towel from the second night was not collected and the shampoo was never refilled. The Wi-Fi was strong and good.

Ansgar is an ok provinsieal hotel. Rooms are fine, but som might be a bit noisy because of the building site. It us nice that there us a selfservice bar in the evening. Breakfast is notering special. Service is very good. 1185 dkk fir a double room seems quite expensive.

Very friendly and welcoming staff.
The location is as far as I can tell pretty much central to the city, lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
The elevator is incredibly tiny so be prepared to get some cardio up the stairs!
The atmosphere is very relaxed and the interior is nicely decorated and pleasant.

Really Nice Hotel, great lobby area, decent breakfast, nice rooms with spacious bathroom. Only downside was the musky smell that is common with most old fashioned places.

Hotel is old fashioned, but very well located. Limited service with very classical breakfast. Bed is very comfortable but in the bathroom the sink is from microscopic size and water from shower is a few drops. Very sustainable indeed.

Great location and sevice, but the hotel itself is a little on the older, homey side. Showers aren't partitioned off, which may be a surprise to some, but I didn't mind so much. Rooms are cozy and well maintained. Breakfast variety isn't huge, but everything was fresh and tasty. Secure parking is available.

Old school scandinavian hotel, position is great just few steps from town Square. Rooms are deacent size, clean and very quite. Interior is a bit older but it has charme. Ladies on reception are extremly friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is also good.

Small rooms and bathroom. Not kept in good conditions.

The former Mission Hotel has retained a fine cultural-historical atmosphere. The nice pictures on the walls and the friendly staff make Ansgar a great place to relax while in Esbjerg.

The hotel is excellent. Cosy. The room was clean. And most importantly cheaper than other hotels эйсберга. And yet the good news, the hotel has a Russian girl in the bar.
