Hotel Britannia

The hotel is located in the centre of Esbjerg city, with brilliant access to the shops and restaurants. Staff was very professional, friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choices, including fresh bread, pastries, eggs, cheese selection, fresh fruits, salads, meats, etc.
There is also a very convenient car park at the facility (paid separately).

Very friendly and helpful staff. A big shout out to Oliver and Emilie for your assistance… again! The rooms are clean and tidy. Toilets in public areas are always a good indication of standards; as expected these are clean, tidy and well appointed. There are always good breakfasts with plenty of fresh choices.
This hotel is centrally located in the heart of Esbjerg. Did I say thanks to Olivervand Emilie? 😀

The staff at the Britannia are incredible, they really can’t do enough for you.
The rooms are clean and spacious.
The hotel is convenient as it’s located next to the main shopping street in Esbjerg, there are lots of bars and restaurants around.
Having tried many restaurants in Esbjerg I would say the food at Britannia is really good quality.
It also has one of the best hotel gyms I’ve ever used with a smith machine, cable machine and free weights.
I’d highly recommend staying here!

My husband was here for work and it was his work that choose the hotel. The hotel is right in city centre which was perfect for both us.
The hotel has a gym. My husband did feedback there was a bit of wait in the morning for a treadmill because only one of them was working.
Breakfast is buffet style with a mixture of hot and cold food.
The hotel has two options of evening meals. There is a restaurant and the cafe/bar area.
The cafe/bar area the food was delicious I are here for lunch and dinner.
We were recommended the restaurant when we checked in. This is ideal for a special occasion. The food is fine dining which I love but wasn't ideal when you've been travelling all day and are looking for a large filling meal.
The airport was only 15 minutes away.
While staying there I did make use of the gym.
I also went exploring to the shops and downtown the harbour. The weather was lovely when we were there.
The bed was comfortable and warm.
I would recommend staying here.

Travel here a lot, but exclusively for work. It's fantastic, great food and service, and a small gym. The staff are great at english and make it very easy to check in and out and also with the restaurant which is surprisingly top quality food. Parking I'm not sure about though? Also a pub only 10 MTRS away from the entrance for a cheeky pint.

Very disappointing experience. Thought it was the top-spot but learned something else. Renovation was on-going with drilling, chipping, workers working by your window etc, not exactly what you expect. There was no warning on the web-page when made the booking, only a small tiny note left opporsite the elevator that 'some noice might occur' which is the understatement of the year. We had noice through-out the day and would never have made the booking if this was known prior arrival. Also the room was a disappointment, We booked a superior room which should give more comfort than a standard room. With one chair for seating in a double-room, where is the 2nd person supposed to sit? — there was a build-in bench along the wall, but the seating area was so small that it was basically impossible to sit comfortable. On top there were mouldings on the joints in the bathroom (which was somehow from last century). We asked for cleaning three times, it only happened once — great communication within the hotel… same was noticed when the elevator broke down, no sign to use the service-elevator for staff untill I asked the question. Response 'yeah, maybe we should put up a note'. Unfortunately my wife got sick and we asked for prolong the stay but everything was booked so no chance, despite the crew knew the state of my wife, they did not even thought about helping for other hotels, just a mere 'no, we are fully booked', so much for a so-called customer-friendly hotel.

The hotel has a fine dining restaurant and a cafe\bistro style area, with good food.
It's placement is central but not in a party neighbourhood so we had quiet weekend nights.

Britannia is an unassuming hotel in Esbjerg. But it’s strategically located, just a hundred meters away from the main square Torvet.
The largish room is colored in cool gray and grayish green colors, with wooden laminate flooring. The headboard is designed with unique wood strips and there were three pieces of artwork on the walls, plus a huge round mirror over the foyer’s low ledge. The bed had a nice dark green coverlet over the comforters, not just the usual white comforter as with most hotels. The round tables (two of them acting as night stands) were all heavy and very stable. Two Danish-design chairs complemented the large round table and a larger leather chair teamed up with the sofa and coffee table. A large TV screen was mounted on the wall opposite the bed. Near the TV was a water kettle and a nespresso-type coffee machine. The beds had their reading lights.
Breakfast fare was standard.

Eels just like home! With a fantastic service-oriented mindset, the staff goes above and beyond to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease. This is why it's undoubtedly the best hotel in Esbjerg. Further more it is located right in the city center.

With staying here for weeks at a time & the high friendly quality service from the front of the reception to the bar/restaurant staff, attention to detail within a personal note to how you would like this to be within your stay is fantastic. Very friendly staff, clean rooms and a great bar.
Whilst visiting a very wintry Esbjerg in January for business I booked the Britannia Hotel as normal. In my opinion the very best hotel in Esbjerg and always an enjoyable stay. Special shout out to Sophia in the bar, serving excellent drinks with a friendly smile and helping make it a great stay. Also to Mia, nothing too much effort and again a friendly professional face at front of house.

The staff were absolutely excellent. Very professional and helpful. Happy to give recommendations about other restaurants. We had an issue with parking in that whilst I paid I had not displayed correct disc which resulted in me receiving a parking fine. The staff were nearly as outraged as I was and took it upon themselves to deal with the agency who manage the parking. I was really impressed by this as a lot of hotels would have said nothing to do with them.
Room was very comfortable with everything we needed. Felt a bit corporate but nothing wrong with that!
Able to eat on terrace. Food was fine.
Hotel ideally situated with restaurants and bars near by. There was a music festival in the square immediately in front which whilst noisy was also fun. If you are coming to stay here and want quiet make enquiries about when week long music festival in Esbjerg is.
Breakfast was disappointing after what we had received in other hotels in Denmark.

For the price the rooms are a bit dated, the toilet paper is single ply, and beds/pillows are adequate. The pillows are worn and barely supported my head during the night, and the beds are just standard box ones.
The morning buffet is lackluster, with hardly chewable buns and bacon. The whole buffet lacked details such as salt and pepper, Danish cakes, and not often restocked until mentioned by customers. Small stuff.
Overall the rooms and halls just seem dated, could do with a refresh. Not bad, not great.
Location is impeccable though, can’t fault that.

Dined at the hotel on May 25th to celebrate a double birthday. The hotel’s restaurant is nicely land out. The special table we had booked knowing the restaurant from several previous visits, was there waiting as was an exceptionally helpful and friendly young waitress who ensured that we had an enjoyable evening. The only negative was that my steak was cooked medium rare and not medium as ordered resulting in my leaving most of it. I can cook a steak better myself without any extensive training. In spite of that we had a nice evening.

The hotel location is convenient, suitable place to stay for the business trips. The restaurant is small, it is quite busy during the breakfast. The room where I stayed was quite small as it was on mansard, the design was extraordinary but the size of room was small and also the bathroom wasn't so comfortable the the facilities were new. Probably good option for one night stay, but a bit challenging for longer stay.
