Great hotel in the centre of Svendborg. The hotel rooms are very nice and well equipped. The hotel has a superb restaurant — I can highly recommend staying at Hotel Svendborg …
Now mind you this visit took place in mid-spring 1983.
I was stationed in what was once called West Germany in the modest town of Grafenwohr. Long story short I went to this cool town in Danmark and stayed at this hotel for almost a full 2 weeks. The main thing that I remember about breakfast was the selection of so many delicious cheeses, breads, and pastries mmmm! I found it so unique and so different from Redhouse West Virginia and even Germany for that matter. I particularly loved the breakfast with the bread and smoked salmon!

Breakfast was decent—no complaints there—but calling this a 4-star hotel feels a bit ambitious. Like “participation trophy” ambitious. That said, for a short 2–3 day stay, it honestly seems to be the best option in town. You won’t be blown away, but you also won’t be plotting your escape, which around here counts as a win.
