Quiet rooms very nice, good attention.

An excellent hotel, it is already the third time I stay in it and I do not change it for any other; the excellent attention of the staff, their exquisite breakfast, their good location, the cleanliness, the comfort and excellent condition of their rooms, have made my stays, a great experience!

The place is beautiful, very comfortable, welcoming, the staff is very friendly, the cleanliness excellent, everything together makes for a pleasant stay. I recommend it 100% It is the third time I visit it and I will definitely continue to choose it.

I would if you are going to be just relaxing. To much old people. Not for a person that likes to party and like to have fun. Is more for elderly people or family with small kids.

So glad we chose this small, peaceful hotel for our home base in San José. It’s just as lovely as the pictures show, and the breakfast (especially the Gallo Pinto) was one of the best we’ve ever had! Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed for two weeks and it was a wonderful experience, the rooms were clean all the time and the staff were very helpful all the time, they were friendly and they made us feel like we were at home, thank you to Sylvia, Melisa, Allan, don Gaby (Gabriel), Franklin and all the staff, we all looking forward everyday for our breakfast, very yummy, fresh fruits, very tasty, everything was Great!

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Costa Rica. The rooms were very clean and just enough, however I found the bathroom very tiny and could use some upgrades. With that said, I will definately stay here again. There were 5 people in our group, 1 child, 2 young adults and my husband and I. For the pricepoint it is a fantastic deal. The breakfast is amazing: rice and beans, plantains or sometimes yucca, eggs, a vegetable, pancakes, fruits, cereal, bread, cake or bread pudding, and of course beverages. Your choice of coffee, tea, cappuccino, espresso… juices. Its very quaint and the staff is great, very helpful and polite. It is located close to pretty much everything. Even though we rented a car, we walked to most places, and felt quite safe, that is a biggie on our list, mostly because I am traveling with my 11 year daughter. Overall great little spot.

I have a lot of positives to report about Apartotel La Sabana where we spent 5 days: All employees friendly and helpful, delightful desk clerks, wonderful breakfast, pretty pool, nicely decorated exterior, moderate prices, self-service laundry, rooms with everything I like including comfortable bed and windows that open. There is a safe place outside to load/unload guests and off-street parking. I was impressed with my email communication with this hotel — — I had lots of questions beforehand which they answered immediately. IMO, there's not a lot to do in San Jose, but Sylvia and Christina tried their best to suggest things we'd like. The hotel is near the downtown, there's a nice big park nearby with lake, a modern art museum, super market, casino, and restaurants (try the chicken place on the corner). There is no street noise, but some early-rising guests were noisy. My only suggestion would be for the 24-hour security guards to tactfully mention to these folks that there are others still trying to sleep.

I stayed in the hotel for a month and the thing I liked the most are the friendly staffs. The rooms are so clean and I guess the management is very particular about keeping it neat and tidy. The breakfast served is amazing and has many varieties. I would definitely recommend this place for both short and long stays.

We stayed for 2 nights with our teenage children. The rooms were clean and comfortable although not very soundproof. This wasn't really an issue as it's in a quiet area. We didn't make use of the pool but the pool area was always clean and tidy. You need to be up early if you want a sun lounger as there are only 6 and they went quickly. The breakfast was tasty and there were good options to choose from. Without a doubt the strength of this hotel is their staff who are so welcoming and friendly and a special mention has to go to Sergio who couldn't be more helpful.

Clean rooms. Good breakfast. Right next to a park. Tucked away from the city center, but close enough to the city center. Could use a gym, but there is a gym down the block for $40 a week with all equipments you need.

I've stayed at the Apartotel Sabana several times over the last 10 years. Love the place; comfortable, clean, great location, safe, and outstanding customer service. And privileges at the nearby gym. I'll be back!

Sergio is an absolute treasure. The brekfast was homey & good. The pool area was quaint. The room couls use a little more updating but it was clean, gated g safe.

I stayed here with my husband and 2 teenage children last year and really liked the hotel. It was very clean. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was very comfortable and larger than I expected. The staff was friendly, and the pool and breakfast were wonderful.

This hotel was clean and comfortable… one of the nicest accommodations in my 14-day vacation to Costa Rica.

Apartotel La Sabana might be a little more expensive for a room than I would typically stay, but it is well worth it. We booked a free shuttle from SJO and were told they offer a shuttle back to the airport for a small fee. The room was comfortable and the breakfast (included) was EXCEPTIONAL. For the peace of mind, it is worth the cost. I will recommend this to anyone and will be staying there again without a doubt.

An escape from the madness of the city. Quiet place, clean and tidy rooms, good food, excellent care and room service.

Very Pleasant Experience. The room was small, but very comfortable. Clean, Cozy, and Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was given every morning with many choices, very delicious. There is a pool area. The Location was a bit hidden, and very close to the park where you can jog or sit and relax. Walking distance to restaurant, and also the village or main street where there were little shops. Hotel arranged for activities like night life activities Hot Spa, Volcano, Butterfly, Coffee Bean, Dance and Shows, so much to do. It was affordable. Will Come again.

Cozy hotel with very friendly staff. We had a large family room which suited us perfectly for two adults and two small children (separate bedroom for the kids). The breakfast was also nice (good coffee, fresh fruit, pancakes etc. And omelettes to order). The only two minor drawbacks I can think of are 1) unheated swimming pool and 2) relatively long distance to the city centre.

Wonderful service. Staff is courteous and efficient. We were presented with coffee, chocolate, drinks at check-in and felt very welcomed. Room is comfortable with all amenities, including a small kitchenette.

What a wonderful stay we had. The staff was courteous and professional, met and exceeded our expectations. The pool and plantings around it are gorgeous. Breakfast was wonderful and changed every day! We will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Costa Rica in the Fall. The only thing I wished for was a bar, or perhaps a happy hour in the afternoon.

Well-loved and charming with hand-crafted details at every turn. I especially appreciate the prolific passion flower vine and spectacular orchids in the lobby. The pool is just right for an afternoon lounge session and there is a steady pleasant breeze. Within one block there are several restaurant options ranging from Lebanese to Chinese to Italian to local chocolate/coffee and a bunch of fast food options as well. As a solo female traveler staying the night in San Jose, I could not have selected a better place. I feel very safe and relaxed here. (Free airport shuttle, breakfast, and book exchange too! ).

I have stayed here on numerous occasions when having dental work done and combined with surfing vacations, I would highly recommend staying here it is a wonderful Hotel with all the amenities and very helpful staff who do everything to make your stay pleasant. I think my stay in Costa Rica would not be complete without staying here, Thanks.

Apartotel La Sabana is perfectly located for those looking for the comfort and warmth of a home in the Centre of the city, close to the main business centers and activity of San Jose, but this generates discomfort due to the proximity to the city.
In addition, service is first and the food is a delight.
Definitely recommended.
