Beautiful 1938 mansion thoughtful staff and oerks.

Good location. Cozy place. Roof terrace.

Breakfast is very basic only fruits and a coffee. If you ask for eggs or alho it costs 5 dollars. Those who attend are willing to do so. I asked for scissors and they brought them to me right now. The Wi-Fi works Super good. A lot of security at the entrance. There's no safe. The water for bathing comes out warm it never gets to be hot.

Staff was great, and location was good as well. Enjoyed our one night there. As an FYI, they do charge $8 for laundry.

Took my first solo trip and stayed for two nights. The person I was corresponding with before the trip was very curt. I don’t need hand holding, but a little politeness goes a long way. On the site, they mention that they help organize trips and I asked to book one to the Arenal Volcano to which they replied that I have to book when I get there. I was concerned that I would not have a spot on such a short notice and would be getting to the hotel at a late hour and it will be too late to book. I explained my situation to which I got zero response. Booked the day trip on my own. Also paid for the room in advance through their site and got the confirmation email. Fast forward to 10pm as I am getting back from the Arenal Volcano to find out that in fact they never charged me and that all payments have to be made in cash at the front desk. No emails/ notifications in regards to this before I got there! Was lucky to gather payment as all the banks where closed and I was heading to the airport the next morning. So much for a relaxing last evening in Costa Rica. Also the hotel is located next to tram tracks which I didn’t know about and it is extremely loud at all times of the day making the room shake. The first time I heard it, it definitely woke me up and scared me. Overall, I would say its basic and I’m sure better places can be found for the same price. Would not stay here again.

I had never had such a bad experience in a hotel, they tell you one thing over the phone and other staff, the old rooms and dirty sheets, they offer breakfast and it's a lie. I would never go back to that place.

DO NOT STAY HERE! this hotel owner, Stephen, is very rude and unprofessional. Your booking may be confirmed, but you may have no room anyway! the hotel is old and run down, rooms are often dirty, especially bathrooms, with leaky toilets and shower heads. Breakfast is poor. Staff is decent, but unable to correct management failings. Plenty of better hotel options all around San Jose — choose somewhere else!

If you want to sleep in the middle of a nightclub, you're here. Noise and gum from all the surrounding pubs and other nightlife like you are inside, not in the room. Insulation is missing.

The staff does not speak any language other than Spanish. In English-only the owner.

In the role of the refrigerator in the room is empty and buzzing as a helicopter closet to cool the wine. Nothing but soap in the bathroom.

And all this grandeur we were provided dirty. The room was quite inviting after the departure of the previous guests, not changing either bed linen or towels, which was obvious from their kind and smell. Even the bedside table near the bed was all stained with glasses and crumbs, and in the crumbling rusty shower-long black hair on the floor. Everything was cleaned only after we came to the front desk and via Google

Suits. Judging by the expression of the person on duty, it was not the first case.

By the way, the reception is combined with kitchen. It's about breakfast. So we didn't dare to stay till morning and try it.

It only works if you are in the same nearby pub hooked a partner for one night and just look for a place where to spend it. Mirrors on the whole wall-I recommend.

Convenient to all the major San Jose attractions. Clean, great value, and nice folks.

The people working here are very nice, the breakfast is very good too and it's close to the center.

Very friendly staff, cute decor, clean, walking distance to many restaurants and bars. Those are the the positives. They say they have parking but it was never available when we needed it. Because it was sandwiched between bars, you have to park before 6pm when the bars open; otherwise, there is no parking. We had to park in a no parking zone and set our alarm clock to move the car in the middle of the night after the bars closed. The bed was so hard we woke up with a back ache every morning. Breakfast was fine. Nothing special but nothing wrong with it either. This place is good for young people who like to party. Or anyone who doesn't need to park and doesn't mind bar music until 2:30am or trains passing early in the morning.

Stay at Hotel Casa 69 definitely satisfactory. Good location, very close to the center but in a quiet area. The only disturbance can be the occasional honking of trucks passing on the main road a hundred meters away. Check in courteous and accurate, basic rooms but clean and well appointed. Great breakfast buffet. All the staff definitely helpful. Great experience.

It is a small but very cosy hotel, located on the south side of San Jose, close to everything; Very friendly people.

This is a no-frills hotel downtown. No A/C in the room, and a fair bit of noise (downtown, it's what you expect). The train is outside your window practically, but good value for price. Very convenient from Tracopa and not too bad to the airport early morning (highly recommend Uber to the airport). I cannot remember if they serve breakfast, but I am always long gone before that happens, so no comment there ;)

Very good atmosphere and the staff super friendly and gentle! I loved it.

The host were great & so was the service. Wi-Fi was helpful. San José can be a little tricky navigating but they made it easy for us. Everything was nice and clean. The view from the roof is incredible.

When kurt sold this place it has gone down hill. Do not stay here the trail will keep you up earley and late at night. There are killings in the street next door. Unsafe to walk anywhere in the area. IT IS NOT GAY FRIENDLY, and or dont think about bringing a girl back to the room with you. The new owner is rude and mouthy. They will not keep your reservation they will give it away to another bidder. It was a nice BNB at one time.

Here are the reasons why our stay was uncomfortable: 1. The location is not fantastic. While it is located in downtown San Jose, it is not walkable to the prime areas. 2. We got street parking in front of the rental, but we were told by the manager that the area was not safe and that we should move our car off the street. This cost us a few bucks and made the area feel unsafe and undesirable. 3. The bathroom was not well ventilated. This led to standing water where mosquito's loved to hang out. The windows did not have screens on them so we could not open them to help with ventilation, besides that would have let more mosquito's in. This led to my girlfriend getting bitten by mosquito's. The irony was the only time during our Costa Rica trip that we used repellant was INSIDE our hotel room. 4. The bed was not comfortable. 5. Dogs — There were 4 or 5 dogs that were allowed to roam the main shared space. This is fine if you like dogs. However, we do not. This led to dogs barking and accosting me and my girlfriend that made us very uncomfortable. Here are reasons the place was good. 1. The price was very good. 2. The manager was very informative and helpful. 3. While the location was not perfect, it still did give us access to some interesting down town locations.

Great location for exploring San Jose! … and when you arrive late in the evening you can walk up to Casa China for a beer and some dinner!

Grateful for the attention they gave to my friends, stay in this place is like being at home, I highly recommend it.

That is quite modern and great hotel. Supeer Nice staff! But quite loud at night, it is not possible to sleep \ Великолепный красивый отель, очень доброжелательный персонал. Но очень шумно ночью. Заснуть не возможно.
