Terrible customer service, we are dispatched from the place xq we left a dog tied up next to the car outside in the parking lot, the most curious thing is that on previous occasions we have visited the place and foreigners if they let them enter with dogs inside the place, I understand xq was empty, I would never return.

This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever experienced. The views are stunning. The rooms are also lovely with fabulous views over the bay and the Ocean.
The infinity pool is just lovely. The hotel and rooms beautiful.
And the staff are fabulous and very attentive. We just stayed one night for Valentine’s and they upgraded us as a Valentine’s Day treat.
Food was fabulous too.
And there are a small number of rooms so the place feels intimate and really romantic. I highly recommend this wonderful beautiful romantic getaway.

We spent four nights at El Castillo for my sister's wedding and it did not disappoint! Throughout our stay, it was clear that the managers, Rebeca and Vanessa, run a tight ship. Thanks to their effective leadership, the service and facilities were consistently top notch. All of their staff were exceptional, especially Stephanie and Daniel, who went above and beyond to be helpful and friendly. The common areas and private hotel rooms were always clean. The view of the Pacific Ocean from the infinity pool was unbelievable. We loved watching the sunset each evening while enjoying one the many unique mixed drinks their bartenders would offer us. Our visit was pure heaven from start to finish. Thank you Rebeca and Vanessa for giving my sister and brother-in-law the wedding of their dreams and our whole family an unforgettable experience!

We love El Castillo! Stayed there from March 12, 2020 to March 16, 2020. Rented the hotel for our daughter and her fiancé’s wedding. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful! All the rooms faced the Pacific Ocean. Breathtaking views wherever you looked. The staff was phenomenal! General Manager, Rebeca, oversaw our stay and made sure all our needs were met…. Room comfort, food, our zipline and ATV jungle tour excursions, transportation…. Her right hand, Vanessa, operations manager, was there to implement all the plans for us. Always there to answer any questions. Stephanie, one of the waitstaff, remembered our favorite food or drinks and would bring them to us. Jason, Daniel, Julie. I wish I remembered everyone’s names so I can give them credit! The whole staff could not have been nicer and more helpful, always there to make us happy. The food was so good! We ate there every night! Chef Pablo and his Castillo’s Kitchen staff out did themselves with every meal in addition to the rehearsal dinner and the wedding dinner. Why go out to other nearby restaurants when we had such delicious cuisine right there at El Castillo? We felt like family to everyone by the time our stay ended. I am wholeheartedly recommending El Castillo Boutique and Luxury Hotel. You will be so happy that you stay here for your vacation! I give them 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was our first time coming to Costa Rica and we will definitely be back. Not only was the view breathtaking from this resort but the staff were all so nice and took amazing care of us. The food was delicious no matter what we ordered and the drinks were spectacular. They went above and beyond to help make sure that not only our stay with them was perfect but also helped plan out the best places to go for activities based on what we mentioned we wanted to do and see. Everything from the massages, the infinity pool to the music and rooms with stellar views were what we could have hoped for and more!

Just a very well run Hotel with very attentive and empathetic staff. Thank you for the special time.

Everything about Castillo's Kitchen is amazing — — the building, the views, the drinks, and oh my goodness the food! We tried the tasting menu as it was a special occasion and it was truly an unforgettable treat! They source everything from local markets, so the ingredients are very fresh. The flavor combinations are brilliant and the presentation, gorgeous! Pablo was our chef that evening and we were so lucky! He was very informative, professional and obviously very very talented! Our server, Karen, was super attentive and kind as well. It's an evening we'll never forget! Thank you so much!

This is an elegant hotel with lovely rooms and spectacular views. The entire staff is friendly, helpful, and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay memorable.

I cannot put into words how amazing my trip was because of my stay at El Castillo and the staff. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning that it could put you to tears but better yet, the staff was amazing. They know you by name and put so much effort into making you feel at home, they go out of their way to make your experience in Costa Rica everything you want It to be. My boyfriend and I didn’t know where to go and what to do and they created a complete itinerary for us. These aren’t just good workers, these are good people. I couldn’t be more thankful for this trip and the only reason it was everything I could of imagined is because of this amazing staff. (And the restaurant in the hotel is the best food we had in Costa Rica) everything was perfect and I couldn’t be more grateful.

This place is special. The attention details for this place was amazing. The chef came to our table and introduced himself and then explained the menu of the night. I had grilled octopus with mushrooms/ onions risotto. This was smashing good. The place was like a backdrop for Casablanca. I was waiting for Humphrey Bogart to come walking through the entrance looking for Ilsa Lund… lol. Play it again Sam.

Although I have previously reviewed this outstanding property on Several occasions, I feel the need to say more after our visit this weekend. An architectural dream with a sense of arrival that takes your breath away. I could stare through the main entrance overlooking the negetive edge pool for hours (and I have) Unparalleled service. The staff is the best I have experienced anywhere in the world. They go over and above to make sure you feel at home and anticipate your every need… you can’t help but feel at ease and forget the stress of everyday life for awhile. They take Food And Beverage to a scientific level (With a dash of TLC). Some of the most amazing cocktails alcoholic and non I have ever experienced. Beautiful rooms, decor… etc. This is an adults only destination and I highly recommend it to couples, honeymooners or those who need to get away from it all. Thank you Castillo for another much needed escape. We appreciate all the work that goes into this amazing guest experience. Xxoo Will and Nidia.

The best views, excellent attention and delicious dishes.

My wife and I were staying at El Castillo for one night and liked the hotel so much we decided to extend our stay further, since our room was booked for the next night we were given two options by the GM; one to just move to another room for same price which would only be available for one more night or to upgrade to suite which was available for the next 6 nights and that is what we decided to do. We moved to the suite (beautiful btw) and went on with our day, after dinner that night we just wanted to confirm we have the suite for us for the rest of the week only to be told that it seems not to be 'in the system', GM wasn't around and we were told he will explain everything in the morning. In the morning, after breakfast we were presented with a bill, GM not in sight, no explanation given. The bill also had someone else's dinners on it and a $120 bottle of Malbec we never ordered. While waiting for the bill to be adjusted we scrambled to find another hotel for the rest of our stay in Costa Rica. Rooms are very nice though, service great and Pablo the chef is really good, if you stay here I can vouch for the chefs choice dinner, you won't regret.

Views are amazing. Staff is there to help, answer questions and take care of issues. Hotel offers one of the best restaurants in Ojochal. Their chief Pablo has a gift — this guy cooks you anything and it will be something amazing that you know what it is but you've never had it prepared that way. Property has always remained clean. You're in the jungles, so you'll see a few pets of El Castillo. Several beaches are near by, along with a small national park. There is a super market BM, about 10 minutes from the hotel, you can get anything there.

This a most wonderful place. The views are amazing. The ocean and sunset on one side, the mountains and sunrise on the other. The accomadations are perfect and so harmonious. The dinning experience is 5 star. The staff was fantastic and saw to every detail, amazing. Gerson was unbelievably helpful and choose the perfect excursions for our needs. Gerald is sweet and saw to our every need. An exceptional waiter. We love this place and plan on returning in February.

Wow, words cannot express how amazing our experience was at El Castillo. El Castillo truly knows how to take care of their guests. My husband and I traveled with another couple, we were anxious to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life with kids, jobs, etc. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left everything was PERFECT, there was absolutely nothing that could have been better. The rooms, the property, the staff, the food, the service — everything was top notch. If you are looking for a place to escape and relax this is the place for you. El Castillo took care of everything for us — our daily adventures, meals — both at El Castillo and at other local restaurants, spa services — we truly felt pampered, and more. The staff became like family to us in a very short amount of time — Gerson is such a kind and delightful gentleman. Pablo is an AMAZING chef and even created a one of a kind meal — I like to call it an experience — for us one evening, food not on the menu but from his passion and love for creating wonderful food. We have already booked our time at El Castillo for next year and have decided this will be an annual destination for the 4 of us. A must experience for all! If you looking for very romantic escape and excellent food this is IT. I visit with my friends for drink and sunset what is taking breath away I love so much that place we stay for dinner what was the best decision in my hole trip besides coming to Costa Rica. I recommend that place with all my heart.

Spectacular place to go to watch the sunset with a good glass of wine. The attention of the guys second to none, great kindness, service and sympathy. Definitely a must visit if you're at the south!

Absolutely loved my stay here. The hotel is small but luxurious and the owners are so friendly. Breakfast is perfect (not only the food but the view also! )

El Catillo is that magical place where you think you have found heavan. Great food and the entertainment on Wednesdays at sunset is always on par with the view. The servece is impecable and the chicken parmasion was right on point. I love this place and Scott is perfect host. Great job El Castillo!

I stayed in one of the larger rooms for 4 days a year ago. It was absolutely fabulous. Great big room, sea view, infinity pool, good food and drinks. Very nice indeed.
