Hostel Sel et Sucre Hostel

I really enjoyed staying here! Staff was very helpful, comfy beds, great vibe and location. ☺ I'd suggest to management though to enforce kitchen cleanliness a bit more, as there were dirty dishes in the sink on the regular.

A little more dirty and grungy than other places I have stayed. People like to smoke here and stay up later and there was somewhat loud music playing in the living room. People are lazy and don't finish their dishes. I put one coconut in the fridge but it was taken out by someone else and they put it on the floor. They did have a table for table tennis though there isn't much room for competitive play.

Good place with good amenities. They rent bikes in the same hostel.

Dinner taken on 23/03/2018 in beverage 2 large breaths of sweet cider, a drink of a local fruit and on the menu a vegetarian pancake, farmer and a classica. Do not expect the Breton crepe with buckwheat flour or black wheat. Damage to the oil poured from above which does not necessarily adapt with the other ingredients, it is better to let the customer choose to put or name (I know myself because large consumer of oil of all kinds). Good espresso with sugar at will very well presented (damage I do not take sugar in the coffee), but we tasted the sugars. We arrived at the opening of 19:00 and attended the preparation of the pancake batter. Overall correct (flat for price).

Very nice place, Sebastian is a very friendly person and always is attentive to the needs of the guests. Very quiet and nice. Located in the heart of Puerto Viejo. The common bathroom downstairs is spotless. It's got hot water. Kitchen and music schedules are respected. Highly recommended.

We ended up here totally by accident but we're so happy we did! Sebastian was great, everything is super clean, the kitchen is AMAZING. Hands down one of the best hostels we've stayed — and we've stayed in a lot. Can't wait for Martinos Pasta Cafe to open!

We stayed one night and then left for Cabanas Lika.
The place is nice but the manager is not very endorsement once you have taken my room.
He does his job at first, then Basta.
A room with sand in the bed as it falls from the floor to the top passing between the wooden floor.
No bathroom in the room for a higher take to other Cabanas which they have individual toilets.

Great Home Sébastien is at the top and will give you good advice. Do not hesitate!

The place is really nice. There is also a cottage on the tree where you can relax a little… We had a few problems with the accommodations… The first day we slept in a double with bathroom. The cleanliness leaves them a little to be desired, but in general, in central America, it is quite widespread. The biggest hassle was moving from one room to another. We took a room the first day. Then the guy there H said he was confused with another reservation, so there H moved into a room 2 meters for 2. A hole. Then the next day we were again moved to a double with bathroom. The place is nice, but it takes more organization.

Kind service. Delicious food and rich coffee. Will return again and again.
