Minca Ecohabs Hotel

An amazing place to stay in minca. If you want to come to minca, it would be to experience the tranquility, peace, and wildlife the mountains have to offer. This hotel makes sure you get the most in these experiences. The team there — adriana and bryan — and really amazing people that will exhaust every possibility to help solve any issues you come with. The breakfasts are pretty amazing — good view and good food. Its a great place to stay :)
If you work online, the bandwidth usually goes up to 350kbps and can be spotty during rainy weather. You can buy internet plans in town if they aren't sold out on sim cards. The staff will do everything in their power to make sure you can do what you need to though (generators, hot spots, room changes).

The rooms are very nice but are not watertight in heavy rain so be careful with belongings left near the edge of the rooms. There is a party hostel across the valley which plays loud music from 4:30pm-12pm so not as peaceful as we had hoped. Hotel was very tight with food/drink. Food at the restaurant was very poor and small portions I'm afraid, they try to charge extra for everything (water, additional chips) and unfortunately the restaurant gave us food poisoning on the last day of visit. The hotel were unkind in their response and insisted that it wasn't them. Didn't ask if we were okay. Staff were not the friendliest, we were happy to leave the hotel. It's not the worst place but there are better alternatives in the area.

Very great place with a nice view and good intimacy. The houses are very charming.

Stayed here 2 nights, bad small beds where you roll into each other, small breakfast, lots of stairs to be done for breakfast and getting to your room, noise of the road below, little bit of water ingress during heavy shower, too hot water in shower, charging for extra breakfast, not getting the room payed for (but that's more Booking's fault).
On the positive side: friendly staff, even passed by to clean the room during the heavy shower, speaking English, balcony with hammock, idyllic scenary.

Perfect! The Hotel is in the middle of nature with a wonderful view of the valley from our balcony. The room was clean and the over the bed was a mosquito net so no disurbing insects. The staff is awesome! We had problems with our travel and did not know how to proceed. The woman from the reception helped us with everything possible. Without her we would have been lost.
The restaurant is very good too. The food is just perfect and we even got a delicious sandwich to go at 4.40 in the morning. We will definetly recommend the hotel and the restaurant!

We didn’t stay at the hotel, just were exploring the area when we stumbled upon this GEM OF A RESTAURANT! Jorge Enrique, the chef, was so welcoming and warm. His food was even better, we had to come back the next day for more. The flavors were perfect. First day we got chicken with coconut rice, the chicken was cooked perfectly, juicy, with honey mustard glaze. Also tried croquettes de platano and they were so good!
Last night we got tamarind pork and it also blew tastebuds away.
Yes, the wait to get the food is long, but it’s only because Hector is cooking fresh to order and putting extra love seasoning in the food. Would absolutely come back! Thanks Jorge!

Pros: sweet people at the restaurant (La Tangara) and good food, nice breeze at night, sweet housekeeping staff, well-netted beds, comfortable beds/pillows, convenient walk to town, good view and nice hammocks on the balcony.
Cons: Wifi is not consistent or strong enough for Zoom calls if you plan on working, noise from the road right below cabins was very loud from 5/6am on as well as neighbors and nearby hostels' music (it was Christmas week), reception staff is unfriendly and seemed bothered to help us, constant sewer smell from the bathroom covered up by pineapple essential oil sticks, plumbing problems kept the water off for our last nite there and into the next day, and if you don't like bugs this isn't the place for you as you will have many in your room. Wouldnt go back.

Magical relaxing place! All the way up in the forest, no bugs because the Echobas are very secure with screens and netting around the beds. Hot water! Amazing service very friendly and helped us figure out everything! Could swing in hammocks there forever! Highly recommend any of the hammock waterfall places in town. They will tell you where and how to get there and arrange transport. They did our laundry and breakfast included was delicious and you got to walk thru the forest to get to their restaurant. We loved this place!

My girlfriend and I recently visited the hotel and loved it.
Such beautiful nature all around it and this hotel does a great job of blending in with this nature and respecting it. Great location just a few minutes away from town, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful.
Big and cozy rooms with water heaters to make tea and beverages and the hammock on the terrace are great additions with attention to detail. Andrea and the staff are really friendly and informative and go out of their way to make sure your stay is a nice one. Recommended!

Lovely little place outside Santa Marta. Cabins are well screened from the bugs (but some will get in, you are in nature! ). Hot water for showers, all friendly staff, especially Ivan. The town of Minca is about 100 yards away where you can contract ecological activities and tours.
The restaurant wasn't so great, the cook was friendly, but the food was greasy and so salty it was almost inedible.
Still, I would absolutely stay here again, it's wonderful You have to walk up and down natural steps, so not good for disabled people with limited mobility, but otherwise, you'll be happy.
Oh, the climate is great, too. You are up in the foothills so its not as hot as in Santa Marta. Our room fan was more than enough.
