Viajero Salento Hostel Hostel

The hostel had a great view and breakfast was good (varied by the day). Our private 3 bed room was in be basement so it was quite humid. Amenities were very basic but moderately clean. Staffs were generally friendly.

A very good atmosphere. International. Several ages. Room "Premium" with a good view.

The exteriors are beautiful, and the facilities very nice, but the rooms and especially the bedding are regular. It must be said that we got the lower rooms, the upper ones seemed a little better. Perfect to spend a night or as much as two.

Excellent scenery. Good distribution. Clean. Your staff is very friendly. They could have some more comfortable chairs on the premises of the hostel to sit and appreciate the scenery.

Stayed here one night before hiking the valley. I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for comfort but the hostel does have a nice setting. You have to make your own bed. There are folded sheets and blankets on the bed. At checkout, you have to remove them and take them to the front desk (army style). The beds are very narrow and if you get top bunk be careful not to fall. There was no hot water when I showered at 11 pm. The Wi-Fi did not work in the room even though they claimed that it did. The dinning area has uncomfortable high stools but an amazing view. The only thing the hostel hot going on is that view. I moved to the coffee tree located 3 doors down on the second day and there you will find comfort.

If you want to read everything, if you do not want to, my summary is: opportunity for improvement # 1: The way they communicate the rules of the hostel. There are good manners! 2. When you provide a service with kindness and disposition it is noticeable, when not, too.
It is the first time I decided to write something negative about some place I visit, once I had the intention of doing it on a Hotel in Argentina, but I understood that the culture is different and I decided not to say anything about this place, putting on the table the cultural difference and D and communication. But in this opportunity I decide to do it because I think that Colombians are characterized by being friendly people, who are always willing to help others with a smile on the face; I was in Armenia the first weekend of this year (2018) without planning I went to Salento to look for hotel with fear of not finding room, since they were at fairs; The people with whom I went if they had made reservation at this hostel, but I had no room, so I had to find a hostel for me, being 12 of the day my fellow travelers registered their arrival at the hostel where they say: "Check in is at 2 as you could see in L A page "to which we ask:" Can we leave the suitcases while we go to find lunch?

Where to start. First they separate us to different rooms even though we booked in one room. Then they forget to give our passports back and put the wristbands on. They don't bother to show us around either. Just show our beds and that's it. The next day they don't even try to move us to one room. When we book a coffee tour they inform us we need to get to the coffee farms by ourselves AFTER we pay. Oh they also "forget" to give our change back. We also heard them arguing with one of the guests about laundry. Instead or resolving the issue they just caused more conflict. It seems to me this hostels staff is absolutely incompetent and doesn't give a flying f*** about the guests. Last but not least if asked about something they are clueless and/or gives wrong information. All in all, a horrendous place that plays on their "nice view" (seen much better) but everything else is severely lacking.

It has a beautiful view of the mountains very close to the village with a bar, offers free breakfast, the accommodations are nice and neat, they have all the necessary information about tours and interesting activities.

El Viajero is a great hostel with an incredible view. I initially came for 3 days, and now I'm on week 3. The staff is very friendly and helpful. One of the guys at reception really stood out, Cristian. He always had a smile on his face and seemed to go above and beyond. I especially enjoyed interacting with the very sweet bartender, Yoleni. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Salento.

Stayed in a private room and it was great patio has a beautiful view. Breakfast is standard hostel breakfast but sitting area also has amazing views. Social environment is lacking and hostel staff does not organize any events.

Hola, las instalciones son buenas y la habitacion es confortable, la liempiza es excelente. Punto en contra, pague la mas costosa e incluia desayuno, fue pesimo, el primer desayuno bajamos a las 08:05 ya no habia mas que 3 rebanadas de pan y un poco de leche y solo cereales, mi esposa no desayuno (eso no es desayuno), el seguyndo dia paso igual, deben tenesr una oferta mas amplia para ese costo tan alto de alojamiento.
Mis amigos se hospedaron en otro mas aconomico y con buen desayuno.
Hi. The facility is good and the room is comfortable, the cleaning is excellent. Point against, pay the most expensive and included breakfast, it was lousy, the first breakfast we went down at 08:05 as there were only 3 slices of bread and a little milk and just cereal, my wife did not breakfast (that's not breakfast), the second day the same, should have a wider offer for such a high cost of accommodation.
My friends stayed in another more economical and with good breakfast.

It is a picturesque location and welcoming atmosphere. Ideal for backpacking. Has views to the mountains spectacular. The breakfast is the usual: bread, fruits, coffee, tea or chocolate. The simple rooms (cabins) and do not have railings (so you sleep to the limit)
Areas common with hammock, tv… Recommended!

Nice place. But you can't stay with kids because the muchileross smoke marijuana.

Beautiful views, included breakfast, and HOT showers. Stayed at Cartagena El Viajero as well. Would definitely recommend the chain.

Very very good. Silent beautiful view clean, I can say human. They think of everything to make your life nice and easy. Modern place with all the facilities a backpacker needs. Thanks.

A nice hostel to stay at a few days. Had a Playstation so that was unique.

Good Wi-Fi and a nice hostel with a view, but cold showers and more expensive than other hostels in the area.

I liked very much St hostel, my room was an 8 bed female dorm But it was big Ybparecia D less had private bathroom and each bed has its locker you get the sheets for Q stores by yourself … The. Breakfast is varied tiens fruits! And the bar has a beautiful view of the valley … Mjoraria a bit the attention of the staff not all D …

Stayed here in a private room for two nights. I loved the location of this hostel overlooking the beautiful scenery, you don't get that in many hostels (if at all! ) The Wi-Fi was slow, so don't bother trying to upload your pictures. Otherwise, you can't go wrong with this hostel in Salento. The town is small enough where walking from one side to the other just takes 10 minutes.

Stayed here for Christmas and everything was enjoyable. Good Wi-Fi, hot water in private room. Breakfast was included. Competitively priced. Street parking for motorcycles. Three of use had no problems over night.

The place is nice. Internet problems which I find very very serious. I was in two rooms and in the first was next to the entrance and they arrived drunk people and could not sleep well, the hard pillows hurt my head and neck. The breakfast only cereal bread and coffee I do not like very much those breakfasts, the receptionist very friendly and friendly. The place is nice and very neat. We had to wait two hours to deliver the room.

The staff was wonderful and did their best to accommodate but we had to switch hostels a few days into our 10 day stay. Again, the staff was great but this is the list of issues we had: no lock on the back door of our room — there was a broken key in the lock (not sure why this wasn't fixed), our room was on the end by the "bar" which played music (loud and distorted) until midnight one of the three nights and there was a fire pit right outside our room, which other guests decided to fire up at 12:30AM which meant we woke up to smoke wafting into our room and the increasingly loud volume of other guests as they got drunk. The internet was a bust — we could only get on it for a few minutes one of the nights. Don't expect to have internet access. And the last day (the day we left) the water stopped without explanation. Thank goodness we'd already showered. Again, the staff was kind and attentive but they only had so much power. Also, if you like to have a beverage in your own room, you can't at this hostel. Oh, and they require you to wear a paper wrist band (like when you go to a concert) which felt very strange. And if you are choosing a hostel that serves breakfast, this isn't it. Breakfast consisted of bread and cereal. If you are looking for a party scene and stay up late, this hostel will be great for you. If you want to sleep by midnight, not so much.
