Do not recommend this hostel. The beds are literal cots, not mattresses. There is no hot water. And when my friend returned in the middle of the night without me, the security guard refused to let her in as she did not have a record of the reservation (which is very dangerous) — the hostel should be responsible for keeping a record of all the guests, not us.

The location is the best thing about this hostel, it's well connected to the rest of the city and to the lively district of Granada, and the cute streets of San Antonio.
There are free salsa classes at 4 PM every day, but as far as the social atmosphere goes, that's pretty much it.
Volunteers working there were a mixed bag, some really friendly and nice, some barely said hi and made you feel like you didn't belong there.
The older lady who's there in the morning was very unpleasant to deal with, she'd dismiss your issues and questions with a condescending tone.
For 2 nights it was an okay hostel but I wouldn't come back, I'd spend a bit more and stay somewhere else.

The location is amazing but that's all there is to it. The bed in the private room was incredibly hard, then I went to a different room and the bed broke in the middle of the night (apparently not the first time that week). After that they wanted to put me in a dorm they just started building. After having to spend one night somewhere else, I was put in the dorm which was not finished, smelled like paint, mattresses made of concrete, no access to light and only one point of electricity. Communication about the entire thing wasn't great either.
It has BEDBUGS! STAY AWAY!
Some would say it "has its charm". I would say; book somewhere else.

May have received good reviews 6 years ago but needs money spent on it to make it up to what people expect of a modern hostel. The electricity went off first night and was like a sweat box in room. The bed had a dip in it. The slats were not fixed to bed I realised but that made no difference to mattress. The place had one hot shower the rest were cold. The window in the room looked out to the walkway. The electricity sockets were in the wrong places. There was not enough equipment for eating food hardly any knives, forks, spoons etc. The kettle switch needed to be held down to make it work. Most of the shower rooms were small so you had no space to put clothes.

Very good place, with too much tranquility and comfort.

I strongly recommend not choosing this hostel, the way they treated us was totally unfair and dishonest. First of all they claimed having problems with bookings and relocated us to another hostel that was really bad and dirty, nevertheless we accepted because they told us that they were going to give us our room at they hostel the day after. BUT they didn't! When we passed by the next day they just said "we don't have rooms available", without even saying "we are sorry". We had to search for another hotel and pay more. This is unacceptable. Honestly they almost ruined our journey in Cali. I hope nobody else has to experience something like that.
