Hampton by Hilton Cali

Wonderful staff, excellent hotel, awesome continental breakfast with everything you can imagine. Liked the idea of having the lobby on the 9th floor.

Great service by the hotel staff. We had small birthday gathering and everything was great, the food was delicious. We met the manager Andrés and were able to see where the staff gets all the great service. The the hotel is located in a perfect spot, beautiful views.

Summary: a comfortable, well-located and safe property in Cali.
I liked:
Room/hotel — we found the room basic but very quiet, comfortable and we slept well for all three-nights we were here. The rooftop pool has great views of Cerro de Las Tres Cruces and surrounding areas. There also was a jacuzzi, but the jets weren't working for our visit.
Location — we thought the location was good, the hotel has a supermarket within 2 minutes walk, a 'Crepes and Waffles' outlet at ground level and other shops/restaurants also within walking distance. The popular El Peñon neighbourhood is a 10 minute walk away, San Antonio neighbourhood 15-20 minute walk away. We had no issues walking around at day or night time. Security was visible at the hotel entrance, especially after dark.
Check-Out — the female staff member who handled our check-out was excellent, she arranged for our luggage to be stored as our flight wasn't until 4pm. We were also allowed to wait in the hotel lobby/restaurant if we wanted, which gave us access to the free Wi-Fi and a bathroom if needed.
Areas for improvement:
Language/Service — with the exception of the female staff member who handled my check-out, the standard of English at this property was poor, which was surprising for an American brand. My check-in was particularly awkward as the team member expected me to sign documents written in Spanish and when I asked for a copy in English, it became a big deal and there was lots of rolled eyes and scoffing.

Excellent experience — the service was great (thanks Felipe), breakfast better than expected, a nice bar area — they even had a free salsa show one evening. Maids did an excellent job servicing the room.
Everything was fine with the room, mini fridge, iron, kettle. Bed was a bit hard for my taste.
Restaurant was mediocre, but I did love the ceviche. The gym was on the smaller side but had an elliptical, treadmill, free weights and one weight machine. There was a rooftop pool and jacuzzi, looked very clean but didn’t have a chance to use.
Safe area, it is walkable to much of downtown Cali, museums, restaurant etc — right along the river. About 30 min to the airport without traffic.

Located near the Cali river on a hilly road this place has an inviting lobby. Good clean rooms and amenities like breakfast was very nice.

There’s no other comparable hotel in the city for sheer value, comfort, and overall perks than the Hampton in Cali.
— Location: Set along the Cali River and Carerra 1, the property is central to most anything you’d need in west Cali. Safety doesn’t seem to be an issue, even at night.
— Atmosphere: New, modern, bright, and spacious for the relatively small square-footage available. In keeping with other Colombian Hamptons, the lobby is on the ninth floor, offering sweeping views of the cityscape and river below.
— Service: Many employees are not proficient English speakers, so be prepared with Google Translate if necessary. Regardless of language, hospitality was paramount. I particularly appreciated the man at breakfast who helped me out with getting the food I wanted!
— Amenities: All the amenities you expect and deserve at Hamptons around the world are present at this location—free breakfast, fitness center, pool/jacuzzi, free Wi-Fi, etc. However, they go above and beyond still—there’s an on-site restaurant (Crepes & Waffles), a miniature bar area, and that aforementioned terrace.
— Rooms: Mine was clean, functional, and comfortable. The bed was very creaky, but it didn’t keep me up at night or anything. If possible, request a room facing the inner part of the whole block of apartments and offices (as opposed to the streets) if you’re seeking the utmost silence. However, doing so sacrifices the excellent views you’ll have with rooms facing the Cali River.

Nice hotel, comfortable room, kind and helpful staff, and a great breakfast spread. What more could I ask for? This was a great stay. I have no complaints. The hotel is also along a pretty river with a park along both sides, so I took a walk in the morning and felt very safe. The area in general is safe and nice.

Nice hotel, breakfast was the same pretty much every morning which got boring. Our room didn't have a bureau to out clothes in. Very limited space for toiletries. No microwave and fridge only gad one water in it. Don't plan on storing any leftover food in it either. Super small water barely fit. The restaurant attached to it was very good. Many varieties of Crepes.

Every time I visit the city, I stays at this nice hotel.
Pros :
* Friendly English speaking staff.
* Breakfast Included is amazing with great variety.
* The view of the West side of the city, the mountains view, and the Cali river is fantastic.
* Rooms are like new, modern, fresh, with good view.
* One of my favorite restaurants in the city " Creppes & Waffles" is located on the main floor.
* It is safe.
Cons :
* The arrival driveway is too narrow, and hard to park.
* No security person at night time.

Great value at this property. Staff very friendly and helpful. We used the hotel gym which served it's purpose, has treads, bike, elliptical, weights, cables and mats. We also enjoyed the pool area. Breakfast was fantastic and had a large variety. I would definitely stay here again.

Best service I have experienced in a Hilton property. The employees from reception, to room service, to cleaning, to restaurant, and security were truly after taking good care of guests. The food was very reasonably priced for the good quality offered. A very good breakfast buffet was included. The hotel had a small gym, swimming pool, and jacuzzi, which came quite handy during the warm but breezy late afternoons in Cali. The only downside of the hotel were the scarce availability of toilet paper — I have to constantly ask for this as the supplied rolls were quite small; and issues with the two elevators in the property.
