Ding-Dong Hostel

Warm and friendly hostel in one of the best and safest neighbourhoods in Cali. Everything is close by (supermarket, dance school, Parque Los Perros, shops) and the place is laid out and decorated very homely and comfortabel. Hammocks, roof terrace, two equiped kitchens, lots of plants and a friendly cat, we felt super at home and stayed a whole week. We also loved that it’s not a party place, the reception is 24/7 but at 11pm it’s lights out and quiet. Thanks for the great service!

The staff working there makes your stay so comfy and nice. They are super kind, attentive and they help you out with anything you may need. You feel like home surrounded by family.

I had a great time in Ding Dong Hostel — Room was comfy, the hostel very well designed what gives it some local atmosphere and was kept clean during all my stay. Staff is helpful and gave me some useful tips about salsa clases around. This charming neigborhood placed in a central place in Cali is surprisingly tranquil. It is a bargain for what you pay! Good Value.

I loved my stay in the hostel!
It's in a safe residential area with a lot of restaurants and things to do around it. The reception is also staffed during nighttime so I always felt safe.
I booked one room which had several beds in it but that didn't bother me at all.
The staff is incredibly nice and helpful, everything including the well stocked kitchen is always clean and there's lots of things you can do around that area. It's also close to the popular Salsa y Rumba dance school (I was always walking there) and the famous La Topa salsa bar.
It's not a party hostel which I loved as Cali in itself with the nightlife and dancing is exhausting enough so I did appreciate my good night's sleep a lot 😊

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. Rooms are spacious and well furnished. Plenty of hang out areas to eat and hang out reading a book. Kitchen and enough bathrooms. Staff were super friendly and helpful and free coffee!

Stayed here twice, it's a cosy, affordable, hit and miss hostel, a little outside the tourist centre with cheaper prices and does what you need, good hot shower, working Wi-Fi and well equipped kitchens.
My first stay was perfect, and the private single listed on airbnb is lovely. Nice bed, desk, plugs, balcony, warm, and friendly receptionist. I give a lot of thanks to Diana and Daniella, who work on the weekdays and shared some food with me after a long day travelling. They were helpful and friendly throughout. I was also super happy with the powerful hot showers and clean bathrooms.
I was less impressed on my second stay when I brought friends to stay at Ding Dong. The triple/quadruple rooms were not great at all, outdated and cramped. The receptionist was much less friendly or helpful. The Quadruple room on the first floor is without any side tables or wardrobe or desk. There were no lamps (only an intense white light and nowhere to store belongings. And worst, we were 3 people with one functioning plug in the room. Annoying. Also, a small annoyance was the lazy reception who didn't refill the fridge with water even though they had it in stock and the hostel is hot. This happened 2 days in a row.
My friends and I weren't happy with the room and were moved to another room after some persuasion. Which was much nicer and came with a balcony.
Overall, it was a 4 of 5 for me. Thank you, Daniella and Diana, for being so helpful and kind.

Cute, clean hostel. The staff was super helpful after I left another place. They went out of their way to accommodate me. Great location close to restaurants and dance classes. Showers are strong and hot. I will stay here whenever I am in Cali. There is sone noise from nearby nightclub at night in the back room on weekends. I think downstairs would be quieter.
