Widus Inn

We stayed over night to attend a funeral. The price was great and rooms were very clean. The inside hallway carpet had stains but oh well. James was great! He sends a passcode for the door so there is no checkin and you can share the code if you have someone else sharing (my sister) and arriving at another time.

We ended up checking in late. The person checking in had waited for us. He had turned the heater on in the room ahead time so our room was warm. Great welcome. Room was clean. Beds are comfy. It is a pet friendly motel.
We highly recommend.

INCREDIBLY clean room — I am driving across Canada and this is takes the cake by a long shot from everywhere that I’ve stayed.
Quiet area — no traffic noise at night which was great. Comfortable bedding and pillows.
Dog friendly rooms and lots of green area around to walk your little friend.
Very kind and pleasant people.
Overall such a great value.

At Widus Inn! The owner James provided a cot at a small fee to accommodate my large group. Room is very clean & beds are comfortable with crisp, clean bedding. I am comfortable in recommending this hidden gem & will definitely stay here again when travelling through Swift Current!

My husband and I were starting a road trip to Toronto. Our first night I had us booked into Widus Inn as our stopover before driving to Winnipeg the next day. I had read that the new owner had done some renovations, and decided to risk it. I have to say we were EXTREMELY PLEASED with this choice. Not only was I called that afternoon to confirm our arrival, but the room was huge, bedding new and clean, very comfortable mattress, toiletries available for shower. Also out the hall door was a little practice green for putting!, and a water dispenser, ice machine, and coffee maker. We don't usually stay at motels. But this experience taught me that you don't need to spend big bucks to enjoy a clean, quiet, convenient night. Especially when it is just for one night. I would not hesitate to stay here again, and should anyone need a stopover in Swift Current book it.

The cleanest, nicest motel we have stayed in for a number of years. Well equipped. Wonderful beds & pillows. Friendly service. Reasonable price. Just off Trans Canada.

Excellent location for travelling through! Very friendly host — helpful, welcoming and warm.
Rooms are as described in other reviews — dated but very clean. Some updates — sink/vanity very modern. Bed was very comfortable — clearly newer than the room.

The room was clean, comfortable, and affordable. The owner was friendly and helpful, and it is evident that he is upgrading the place. We were traveling with our dog and the pet fee was perfectly reasonable. Would definitely recommend, and will come back.

Really enjoyed our stay here! The building is obviously older but you can tell the owner really cares about the buisness.
Everything is tidy and very much functional. Especially enjoyed the free little coffee and tea area. Didn't try out the little putting strip so I'll have to save that for next time :)

This was my first time staying at the Widus Inn and I was very pleased. It is an older building in need of touch-ups here and there but it was all I needed and the price was right (thank you for being affordable! ). The room was very fresh and clean, nothing fancy but thoughtfully updated, nice new bathroom fixtures, a cool print on the wall, free Wi-Fi, fridge, microwave, and, best of all, lovely bedding. All for $79 plus tax. Had a quiet night and a great sleep. I was really glad to have a motel room as I had quite a few bags and had to make several trips to my car but it was right outside the door — perfect! Paid in full at check-in by debit (no big hassle with securing with credit card) and dropped the key in the drop box by the door in the morning — so simple! I will be back! Thanks, Widus!

Clean, quiet and convenient boutique style Motel. I will definitely stay here again when I pass through Swift current. Would highly recommend to all travellers.

Very clean room; very comfortable beds and pillows! Makes it hard to get up in the morning! Friendly, hard working staff. Very good deal for the price.
Half a block to Tim Hortons. Fairly quiet location, despite being close to the Trans Canada highway.

We have never been disappointed with a stay here. Beds are comfortable, everything is clean, and the price is unbeatable. The owner is very friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to requests and questions.

We were so disappointed by the Widus hotel as we were expecting so much more given the glowing, positive reviews.
We arrived after a 6 hour drive only to be rudely greeted by the receptionist (this was not the Swift Current warm welcome we were expecting! ) He commented that we were late (despite Hotels. Com & other sites advertising check in up until 11pm) we arrived a little after 10pm. His negativity & rudeness was so not appreciated or expected.
The room was clean & presentable although very dated. The bathroom basin is situated in the room & had a significant drain fly problem. So much so that they were flying around the room which made it feel unpleasant.
The room next to us had dogs that barked throughout our stay; and a dog crate next to our front door which had lots of dog poo inside; again super unpleasant.
Unfortunately, I would not recommend or say here again, sadly 😔

A gem in disguise.
Motel easily accessed of hwy. Don't let it's plain exterior fool you. We were on a road trip and had almost everything but the kitchen sink with us so very convenient to park right by your room door.
A surprise awaits you when you open that white door off the rather worn stoop.
A large room with enough space for us to spread out, a large desk, table, chairs, microwave, fridge. Small but clean bathroom. Great shower. Efficient heater quickly warmed the room. Open the back door to a wide hallway to find coffeemaker, coffee, tea and water dispenser. Free Wi-Fi. Not huge but adequate TV.
Beds dressed in linens equal to that of a five* hotel, crisp, white luxurious.

Coming across from other provinces, this is far and away the best inn we’ve stayed at — convenient location with what seems like designated parking right outside of suite, super pleasant check-in, the best value, the best shower…and a large pet-friendly room with all we’d need/want including complementary coffee, tea, water steps from our room. Awesome, thank you!
