SkyView Swift Current

I had to rent a room for two nights because my car broke down in Swift Current. Skyview was unpretentious, clean, and very affordable for my unplanned stay.
Front desk is cheerful and friendly. I had a coffee machine in my room (bless) and a hairdryer too. The decor is kind of dated with some minor renovation foibles (like some things that need to be plastered up but never were) and the bathtub liner was a bit messed up so I didn’t think I should take a bath, just shower.
But the room was warm (critical in the winter here! ) with a modern air conditioning/heating system that you see in most motels and hotels. No bugs and my sheets were very clean.
Also there are stores within walking distance for essentials if ever you need to.
Nice enough place and great for my budget.

The guy working was very responsive checking us in as we rolled into Swift Current pretty late at night and all other motels were booked. However, the sheets were dirty. They had black hairs on them and other debris.
I'm no stranger to cheap motels but this is the grossest thing I've encountered. Needless to say, we set up sleeping bags on top of the bed. I'm not fussy but, FFS, change the bed sheets. Super gross.

We appreciated the basic but clean room, comfortable bed and fair price. We had what we needed and slept well. The only 'complaint' we would note is that the air conditioner and the fridge were loud. Rattly loud. The Wi-Fi did not work for us either. 😬 But if you are sick of overpaying for basic chain hotel rooms, this is a good option.

Good for a 'less expensive' place to have a quick sleep and move on.

My wife and I stayed there almost two weeks ago. When we left we were told we would receive our deposit the same day and were still waiting and we keep getting told that they will talk to the manager! We have not been contacted back and or they keep making excuses! Not recommended to stay with issues like this.

Good location right off the highway, check in was easy, person helping us was friendly.
Room however needs a lot of TLC. Only deadbolt works, the door guard was broken so anyone with a key or could pick a lock could break in. Some old windows seemed to be boarded up, was an old curtain rod above where there wasn't a window. Holes in ceiling. Only one blanekt provided for a 2 bed room. We had to use the top quilts but at least there were sheets under.
Mini fridge, microwave, coffee and coffee maker provided. Didn't use the TV was only there for one night. Washroom was freezing I don't think there's anything bringing heat back there other than regular air circulation.
Heater worked well and warmed up the rest of the room well.
Had free Wi-Fi but was pretty slow. I opted to use my data.
Close to other motels, restaurants, some stores nearby.
Edit: I noticed a "dog friendly" sign which is impressive and very nice to see.

We live out of town so we stay here quite a bit. The rooms are clean and the price is very reasonable AND they don't hold such a large deposit. Just down the road are all the grocery stores and gas stations. Crossing the highway you have all the fast-food restaurants. Not luxurious, but a good sleep for a reasonable price.

This hotel is conveniently located, everything you would need is close by. I was given a room but Ac didn't work. They had no problem giving me another room. But the card keys did not work, neither did alot of other people's ifoukd out later. Because card keys would not work the management gave me a master key. I also found out by a regular guest at the hotel that he had a key, so did the people next to him. These keys can open all the rooms! When you are in the room and have the double lock engaged it is secure no keys will work, but if you leave your room, your belongings are not secure! Everybody and their brother are walking around with a key. Would not stay here again.

5 stars for this moderate to low budget motel.
There are a TON of 2 star motels to choose from in Swift Current. We were super impressed with Skyview. The hot water takes a minute but the pressure and warmth is excellent. The new owner is friendly, inviting, and accommodating. The beds are comfortable and clean. Folks are friendly and there is a Tim Horton's to your immediate left and a great pub with off sales beer and wine to your immediate right.
Skyview is the best 2 star motel we have stayed in and we travel extensively! We shall be back.

We were a bit skeptical given some of the reviews and how it was a low star hotel, but they were very accommodating and let us check in early. The room was clean and the shower had awesome water pressure and great temperature since it was so cold out. The bed was very comfy. We brought our own pillows and forgot one of them and were from Alberta, so they went out of their way to Canada Post and mailed it back to us. Amazing service! Would stay there again in a heartbeat if were ever back that way!
