Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough

Stayed here for valentines day. Beautiful hotel and lobby. I had tried to book a disability room but on arrival was only able to get a regular room due to renos. The room itself was quite nice the only issue I had was using the washroom because of the size of it and the low to the ground toilet. Will definitely try and book for sometime after the renos are done and im able to get an accessible room.

We had a lovely first-time stay at the iconic Bessborough Hotel in Saskatoon, three nights, in February 2026. The young man who checked us in (sorry, I didn't catch your name! ) was super helpful with every aspect of our stay.
The first night we dined in the lounge bar, and Ryan looked after us so well, thank you Ryan! Bess garden salad with grilled chicken, and Tikka Masala — delicious. My non-alcoholic rhubarb refresher was perfect.
We enjoyed two delicious breakfasts, including steel cut oats with yummy sides. Very well looked after each morning by Tammy. Thank you Tammy!
Housekeeping staff did a great job.
The walkways to where we parked our rental vehicle were cleared and sanded, critically important for two pensioners!
This older hotel had amazing character throughout.

If you like classic hotels, this is a great choice. However, you should note that some of the hotel’s materials are old. The breakfast is fantastic, but there weren’t any fresh fruits.
It is close to the mall, and there is a skating rink beside the hotel. You can also walk along the river.

I chose this hotel for a two-night stay based on good reviews, its central location, castle-like architecture, and river views. While the building looks impressive, the stay itself was extremely disappointing.
The room lacked basic amenities. There was no proper air conditioning or ventilation, no bathroom fan, and a broken window that had to be propped open. After showering, the bathroom remained damp and smelled humid for days. A standing fan was provided, but the thermostat only blew hot air, making the room uncomfortably warm.
When I reported this, the front desk simply acknowledged that renovations were needed and took no action. At nearly $400 per night, this hotel offered very poor value. I expected an upscale experience, but a budget hotel would have been far more comfortable.

Very disappointed… Stayed one night on Christmas Day on a very wintery road trip enroute to visit family for the Holidays. Made reservation ahead of time and was not made aware of the hotels lounge and restaurant being closed for Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Reception was nonchalant about this issue. Room rates also were not reduced either to reflect lack of amenities that we booked the hotel for. Minimal festive decor as well in the lobby. Exterior is beautiful and very reminiscent of a the old CP hotels. Inside doesn’t match the grand exterior and sadly disappointed lobby area.
We stayed in a king view room and was surprised how small it is and lacklustre it is. Bed was comfortable, bathroom was old and dingy.
Walked across the street to the Sheraton Cavalier for Christmas dinner and we were warmly welcomed by the staff there and had a lovely dinner. Watched the skaters at the park and it is a lovely area.
Not sure if we would recommend the Delta Bessborough or even stay again.

I stayed at Delta Hotels Bessborough once and had a great experience. The property has a classic, historic feel with a touch of luxury, and the location along the river makes the stay even more enjoyable. The room was clean, comfortable, and well‑maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel felt special.
As a Platinum Elite member, I received excellent recognition during my stay, and staff were professional and welcoming throughout. Everything from check‑in to checkout was smooth, and the stay felt memorable and relaxing.
Overall, this hotel delivered a wonderful experience, and I would happily return on a future visit to Saskatoon.

My wife and I recently (last weekend) celebrated our anniversary at the Delta Hotels Bessborough in Saskatoon, and it was an unforgettable experience.
Although our weekend started with a small misunderstanding regarding our reservation, the manager, Wassen Jaabr, handled the situation promptly and professionally. He not only clarified the issue but also upgraded our room as a gesture of goodwill, which we truly appreciated.
The upgraded room was a delightful surprise, offering a stunning view of the Saskatchewan River.
Even though the weather was chilly, the frost-covered trees along the river created a magical winter scene that made our stay even more special.
Every member of the hotel staff was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.
On Sunday, we attended the special tea and hotel tour, where we had the chance to visit the elegant Regal Suite and explore the impressive conference and event spaces. This gave us a deeper appreciation for everything the hotel has to offer.
I am incredibly thankful that we chose Delta Hotels Bessborough to celebrate such an important occasion. It exceeded our expectations in every way, and we will definitely return in the future.

Checked in late and checked out very early too, but quite enjoyed our stay due to:
1. EXCEPTIONAL staff at the front desk. Haider welcomed us and was most supportive through our stay — including suggesting shopping and meal options closeby. We were glad for the support.
2. Excellent staff at the cafeteria. My breakfast was brief but entirely worth it. Terrific flavours and wholesome portions. Kudos!
3. Great food facility — glad they packed us wholesome breakfast as we had an early flight out, much appreciated overall by all 3 of us.
Rooms could be a bit better with the sliding cupboard feeling cramped but I enjoyed the room regardless.

Nice hotel in a beautiful building with exceptional staff. There are a few refreshers that could be done to bring the rooms up to five star but overall the hotel was wonderful. The staff were amazing. We had breakfast both days and it was delicious. Exceeded expectations and staff were so friendly and helpful.
The location is perfect for seeing downtown. Easy walk to restaurants and bars. Right on the river walk. And the building is beautiful.
There were nice enough to upgrade us to a larger room and received a welcome gift of chocolate mousse that was amazing.
Room was really comfortable and the beds were super cozy. Had a great sleep each night. Clean and art deco style bathroom. Lots of space and a seating area.
Few general notes for feedback…
— Carpets could be redone but aren't too bad.
— Sheets could fit the mattress better.
— Water is very hot. Little warning signs could be nice but that is just a little added touch.
— USB adapters for charging.

Good, central location, but that's all there is to offer. Extremely underwhelming and ultimately very disappointing stay. Very expensive hotel but without the 4-Star experience. The customer service was minimal. No room amenities such as a bathroom fan or A/C (although that is advertised), the window had to be propped open because it was broken as well. So, the room is suffocating without any type of air movement, if you shower it smells like shower and humidity for the next 2 days because zero ventilation. We turned on the fan on the thermostat and set it low, thinking we had some climate control but instead woke up to stifling 27⁰C because it just blew hot air. Front desk says, "yeah we really need renovations" and that's it! Eventually a standing fan was brought to the room.
Paying about $300/night to stay here and wish I had booked literally anywhere else in the city. I chose this hotel for an upscaled experience just to find out a Holiday Inn Express would likely have been more comfortable and more valuable for the money. They should be ashamed for what they offer for the price.

Very nice historic hotel. Rooms were clean/comfortable with the amenities you need/would expect. Staff was very accommodating. Had an event in the bar which went well and we were well taken care of. Within easy walking distance of any number of good restaurants and other points of interest.

Clean rooms and very professional management who take care of their guests. It was nice to have the sauna and pool and the restaurant is very good. Highly recommend including breakfast in your booking. We will be returning for sure.

Best hotel in Saskatoon. Yes it is expensive however you get what you pay for. The rooms are simple and have what is needed. The views are amazing. There is a hot tub, pool, dry sauna and gym. All excellent. The hotel staff are so kind and helpful. The Bessborough is in a great location as it is walking distance to many great dinning options. I would suggest Taverna. If you have never stayed you should give it a try.

I stayed here “back in the day” many many times. It was a majestic hotel with unparalleled service and aesthetics. Sadly, times have changed some things. The rooms are dated, wall paper is peeling, no typical amenities such as room safes or shampoos. Bed was comfortable but the room was marginally clean. As an example, when I opened a bed side drawer, the top of the drawer had splashes of something sticky on it. Clearly not cleaned. The hotel use to be gorgeous. The chandeliers incredible. But the paint is peeling, the carpets old, the wood panelling chipped everywhere, ice machines broken, vending machines not working. Parking isn’t secured. Yet room costs are on par with 5* hotels in other cities. I do want to say the staff were wonderful. They clearly are the reason the hotel is still a popular choice. The front door man was lovely. And the front desk staff very amenable. I remember when the hotel was a busy, bright and beautiful place to stay. I sincerely hope someone or the Marriott invests back into the building and brings it back to life. It’s a shame it’s been allowed to deteriorate. Heart breaking really. The grounds are simply beautiful and it looks like the surrounding area is being upgraded by the city. The marketing department has done an amazing job of bringing events to the hotels and the grounds and they should be applauded for their work. But drug use around the building makes it a dangerous place to walk sadly.

Love the historic hotel. Sharing the experience of preservation of this building with the kids was a great experience. We loved it. The breakfast staff members are particularly welcoming and friendly and kept the three kids entertained and full with delicious, well prepared fresh food. The chef also made ham, steak and hamburger patties for Enzo the Maltese. Hotel is very dog friendly. Thanks for returning our few lost items we missed flying out the door at 4 am :) Having my son's suit back is important! My only wish is that you could do historic guided tours of the property a couple of times a week (including the top floors that we failed to reach in our explorations! ).

This is a very cool stay. Its a updated version of the French castle inspired building built by the Canadian National Railroad in the 1920s, opened in the 1930s. The location has great restaurants and access all over, River and garden views, and great amenities… however during our stay, we had complications with third party booking and the pool, hot-tub, and sauna was closed for maintenance — however, we were still able to book our room, and we walked a few blocks to the other delta location for their water areas free of charge. Clean, modest rooms, with a modern castle experience.
