Relaxing and peaceful with the sound of the river. Wonderful food and lots of outdoor areas to sit back and enjoy the scenery. Definitely come back. Loved all the beautifully maintained walking trails. Pride of their community is evident throughout wakefield.

A very nice spot to relax with so many restaurants nearby to chose from in the age if you decide not to eat at the 2 restaurants the hotel has to offer. Grounds are clean. Beautiful pool and spa. Trails to go for walks with seating available in many areas. Just loved this place. Above what * expected. Staff was etremely polite and professional.

Our room was gorgeous and staff was extremely helpful and kind. I usually find that places tend to ignore us because we are younger however, we found that they were very professional and nice. Beautiful views, relaxing rooms, well kept pools, amazing food and lovely massages. Thank you for the perfect vacation!

Lovely place all around! Was there for a 2 day conference and every detail was looked after, food was very good, the rooms are well appointed, all amenities available and easily accessible. The surrounding grounds were gorgeous with the rapids as the feature made for great picture taking. The walk to town was very close with a couple of cute places to eat and drink. Hiking trails and a very old cemetery with some noteworthy patrons ate steps from the hotel. A plan on going back.

Stayed in the Eco Lodge for a night earlier this week. Beautiful building. I loved the room, and was totally surprised that the room had a lovely, private patio. I enjoyed having the pool and hot tub nearby as well. Had dinner and breakfast at Muse— dinner was amazing, breakfast was just fine. Enjoyed the surrounding property and quiet solitude. I hope to make this an annual visit!

We were visiting in Ottawa and came especially to Wakefield for the Old Mill brunch buffet. I recommend you do too, you will not be disappointed! The building is really cool and the grounds are immaculately kept. There is plenty of seating available and the buffet is one of the largest and not ordinary ones I have been to. There are so many different options, I particular favourite was the eggs benny with smoked salmon, and the lamb roast with Yorkshire pudding. There were so many good option and the desserts were delicious and plentiful. If you can't tell I really enjoyed myself here. I absolutely recommend coming here. It is on the expensive side, they do add gratuity to the bill, but the atmosphere, service, and quality are unrivalled for a brunch buffet.

My mother in law and I received gift cards from my fiancé a couple years ago. I recently got Engaged so my mother in law thought it would be nice to go with my mother when they come down to celebrate. We were very disappointed from the moment we entered the women’s “change room” which was hardly one at all. You could hardly fit all three of us in there. There was another girl at the time we were in there and she had to change in the showers. We found it very small and no privacy. There was also no toilet paper which we then informed the staff. They had no idea where they kept it and were looking frantically for some. Time for our treatments. Mine was first with a message and facial then my mother in law for a facial and a massage to follow. The lady who did my message did a great job but when I came out to the lounge mother in law had not had one treatment done yet. She said they had a mix up and she won’t be able to have a facial. They did not seem very concerned or worried about this. My facial which was very expensive was also not worth what I was charged. I was in there for 15-20 max when paid for a 30min. The lady was very nice but seemed new and was reading instructions on products. Not to mention it felt very rushed and was the worst facial I have received. No steaming or picking any black heads etc. She applied very few products as well. We then thought let’s hit the hot tub. Well that wasn’t working and was the size of a kiddie pool.

Excellent Restaurant. The food is of very good quality and the portions are generous enough that one is full on leaving. The service is excellent. Our table was not ready so the employee at the front desk apologized, served us a glass of sparkling wine and invited us to sit in the bar waiting for the table to be ready. We will return regularly.

Accommodation was Good. Area is nice. Shame the breakfast wasn't tailored/from a menu. It was simple sausages and eggs in a warmer with some fruit etc… I'd expect a little more having spent nearly $500 for a nights stay with dinner. I believe they do offer it some mornings though, just not when we were there.

Didn’t have the bathtub or the soaking tub as I expected from the pictures when I looked at the eco packages. Overall the place is beautiful. Brunch on Sunday was delicious and very worth it. The staff were amazing and the service excellent. Hot tub close to the eco location was a little disappointing. Looks like it belongs to the chalet. Love the lounge with the fireplaces.

We've had supper at Muse restaurant 4 times now and every time we are so impressed with the quality of the food and exemplary service. They used to have a discovery menu which was a selection of 6-7 small plates that the chef would pick out on your behalf. Sadly, they don't so that anymore and the menu is now only "prix fixe" (or "table d'hôte") which means a set fee for entrée, main and dessert for $60. The wine by the glass had limited selection of 3 whites and 3 reds, but those we tasted were quite lovely. Nevertheless, the food was outstanding and we would definitely go back.

The Mill is an awesome place to grab some great food and drinks. The bar is a great place drink or involve yourself in friendly chatter. There are different events on different nights. Prices are very reasonable, portions are huge. The menu has just about everything. I recommend the charcuterie board! The staff here is the best. Friendly, funny and very attentive! If you are planning a party or large get together there is a good size function room as well.

We stayed this past weekend at the Wakefield hotel and spa — we didn’t get any spa treatments but the hotel itself was excellent. Our room was very nice, we took the suite with the soaker tub it was great for our date weekend. We had dinner at muse &highly recommend it — the service was excellent and the food as well. The breakfast buffet was also amazing. Overall a great time no complaints! Everyone working there was very helpful and friendly.

A visit to this wonderful restaurant on the eve of Christmas. Quiet atmosphere and outstanding service. Detailed Menu, desired taste and refined wine cellar. A little disappointed with dessert on the other hand that indicated a pudding that was not one. Another visit will be able to confirm if the stability is at the rendezvous.

Spa Review. This place is AMAZING! I go annually to the spa for the day and just when you think you've had your best spa experience… they do it again even better! In the winter you have the outdoor hot tub and sauna and in the summer you have the jacuzzi outdoors and hammocks and chairs or outdoor massages. The staff is AMAZING… every single person they hire is brilliant at service. The quality of products is outstanding. The ambiance is something out of a magazine! I suggest their facials (you literally look 10yrs younger after them) and I had a hot stone massage that was unreal! You can order lunches and have it brought down or go upstairs and relax by the fireplace. Loved the bonus extra touch of hot cider tea on a winter day. Best Spa ever! Will keep coming back.

The choices on the menu on the Web (verified the same day) are not the same as at the restaurant. We have less in reality. Plus, the portions are tiny. As for the rooms, their size is disappointing (the pictures are deceptive). Really disappointed to have paid the big price for this place, especially as the room choice was based on an employee's recommendations at the front desk.

Loved it! Anik and Stacy in the spa are fun and super helpful. Massages were great! We did the couple's package with a three course dinner at Muse. Wicked evening! Be sure to hit the outdoor spa before or after massages. Nature. Waterfall. Quiet.

Went to the restaurant as part of a group. The service was superb. The food was beyond amazing. The view is stunning. The price is reasonable for what you get. 100% recommend!

Nice hotel but the management is absolutely terrible. The power went out and I saw a few staff leave. They left the person at the front desk to fend for themselves. These people need to work on hospitality and how to run the place. Absolutely terrible. Take care of your staff so you can run the place professionally.

Decent experience, but could have been much better. We ordered the Spa package for our stay Spa was great, massages were very good, even for my pregnant wife. Room was okay. Very average and quite dated. Shower/bath was in poor condition though. Bed was small, mattress was old, certainly up for replacement. Dinner was very good, though the restaurant itself needs some work (e. G. Broken floors that need replacement, very old carpet). Staff was between average and good (quite a few inexperienced waiters). Breakfast was very good, with lots of variety. All in all a good experience, but I had higher expectations from the quality of the room and some of the amenities.

The hotel is in the nature with many options for entertaining outdoors. The food is excellent and the service friendly. The room is simple but well maintained.

My boyfriend and I had booked a massage for two. We were spoken to in English by the massage therapists, which I felt was disappointing. The cashier/receptionist wasn't very good at explaining things and I had to ask a lot of questions​ without much answer each time. The bathroom that was also the change room was extremely small; great for one person but it had the possibility of having 6 clients (6 lockers) which I couldn't imagine. The hot tub was extremely nice and having snacks, tea and water were appreciated. I also liked having free use of towels, bathrobes and slippers. It wasn't very nice having to climb back up to the first floor after being so relaxed!

The service was excellent. However, the food was very bland and lacked flavor for the price. It is very expensive paid $60 for a 3-service table d'hôte. Only the appetizers were tasty. The main dishes as well as the desserts were disappointing. The crème brulee was lumpy, the ravioli was served in a tasteless broth and the sea duo Dish was ordinary. I'm not recommending this restaurant. Go try the edge of the wood instead. Best quality for the price.

Great dining experience. Choose between the heron room wine bar (more casual) and the downstairs fine dining area. Both are very well put together, polished dining experiences. We are in the heron room at the window with an amazing view of the waterfall. The food was fantastically executed. The flavors were well combined and everything was cooked with excellence. A great place to bring anyone you care for. Highly recommended. It is a bit hard to find. Use a GPS.

Awesome getaway location, wonderful pool, and hot tub setup, with paths down to lawn chairs next to the running river, and a mini man made tub area made with rocks. Only downside was the thin walls so we could hear the neighbors.

Upscale historic hotel/restaurant with all that entails. Full disclosure I was only here for the excellent breakfast buffet they put on so I cant speak as to the hotel amenities. The restaurant side is a must see though with an expansive array of excellent dishes and a stunning view of the countryside surrounding.

Place was wonderful, but they booked my massage in a double room, with another lady! Was the worst massage ever. I was extremely uncomfortable having to share the room, and could not relax. Was very disappointing, They did NOT tell me this until I was brought to the massage room. I would have booked another apt, or different service had I been aware …

Fantastic mother/daughter break. We spent one night, had dinner, and visited the spa and it was all perfect. I wished I didn't have to leave! Absolutely beautiful hotel and the staff were fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Stayed in the River Room. An amazing experience in the Gatineau Hills and the town of Wakefield, a perfect place to spend a weekend.

Not happy that hot tub just outside on patio was out of service. Had to walk outside for 2 minutes in winter to access another. There should be a discount. This was a major reason we came.

Very poor service. We ordered our food and had to wait more than 1 hour before we got tired and left upset and hungry. Apparently the waitress or the kitchen had messed up our order and forgot about it but neither one would admit it. When we complained, they reacted as it's totally normal. No explanation or apology! There are many other choices around. We won't be going back to Wakefield Mill for food.

It was our wedding anniversary and our first time there. We enjoyed our stay and the service was awesome. We are planning to do this again next year on our anniversary.

Rooms were out-dated, views overlooking the parking lot, facilities were not all working, though they have a nice lounge / bar area. 4 star price for a 2 star hotel. Brought up these issues with the inn via email, the manager basically told me to quit whining and he offered me the opportunity to use the hot tub if I came back and paid for a meal.

This is a beautiful property within the Gatineau Park. Stayed two nights, enjoyed a fantastic meal at Muse, experienced a wonderful massage on a heated table overlooking the waterfall. Just fabulous. Next time, I have to bring my skis.
