Incredibly rude and unhelpful service from Alex. I booked a reservation and was really looking forward to our stay. I sat in an airport for six hours and my flight was finally cancelled. I called the hotel and spoke with the front desk person, Alex. He was unwilling to waive the cancellation fee despite the fact that I would be rebooking for the following night. Not only would he not assist me or demonstrate any empathy, but Alex was incredibly abrupt and rude on the phone. I understand that this is a small hotel and it costs them money to lose a reservation, however, it's costing them more money as they're losing all future reservations from me including for tomorrow night. The attitude was the worst part of this experience. I travel often and I've stayed at many hotels. This service was atrocious. I'll be sharing my experience with everyone I know.

Convenient and charming hotel at the Plateau. Highly recommended.

We were in one of the smallest rooms but it was charming and clean. Lovely visit. Be prepared to climb stairs. The on-site Thai bar and restaurant was first rate.

Everything was excellent with the hotel. Room was great, breakfast great, staff great, great price, location pretty good. Could still improve: does not actually contain Paris.

I absolutely didn't enjoy my stay, so yes the hotel and well located, yes it has charm.
But the hotel is not level, it leans quite a bit which was very disturbing for me over the sheets as the bathroom was not faultless.

Clean and consistent. Staff are very polite and knowledgeable, always willing to help. Unfortunately there is no handicap access; lots of stairs! The thai place attached is great and the free breakfast is simple but good.

Hotel located in strategic posation. You can park in the hotel garage for extra. Microscopic rooms and poor cleaning (in the bathroom hair and residue everywhere in the floor). Standard breakfast.

Very nice little hotel. The rooms were very small, but clean and equipped with small kitchens. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The location was ideal for us, as the city centre and a number of attractions were within walking distance.

No elevator, uncertain soundproofing, located on the edge of a high traffic road, there is a lot of noise. Very noisy air conditioning at night. Otherwise clean and very decent room. The location in the city center is an asset.

Very well placed hotel, 20 min walk from Old Montreal. In front of the hotel you can park for free every day of the week (and all the We) except between 15h and 18h. I still recommend to take a superior room as the economical ones are tiny. I would especially like to thank the staff for their very warm welcome during the very complete breakfasts elsewhere. I recommend.

The elderly man at the reception gives terrible service. There were ants in our hotel room and asked for a change and they refused. The bathroom shower is about 60×60cm and bathroom itself is tiny. The hotel room is very untidy and the stay doesnt seem worth the money. Avoid staying here.

Small cramped room, attic, you hear the noises of outside and in, no ascendeur, no free parking, 6 paying places in another building. In short a scam.

Quiet neighborhood, rested placid and the beds are very comfortable, the owner very attentive and with very good Spanish!

We were very pleased with our stay there. The room is spacious to fit in all the beds for five of us. The staff are very friendly and helpful from beginning to the end. We had a wonderful Thai dinner at Pamika which is conveniently located downstairs. The breakfast there is also great, one of the best we've ever had. We're definitely coming back!

The prices are good and the place is pretty clean. Be advised, they have two locations right across the street from each other, and the one on the north side of Sherbrooke is significantly nicer. We stayed in the 'annex' and it was a pretty basic hotel room but smelled of smoke despite being non smoking and the shower didn't work super well. The rooms are also tiny which wasn't an issue for us but if you have mobility issues I would keep it in mind. The breakfast was continental, with some good options but I would have liked more vegan stuff.

Good value for money The cleanliness of the lobby is to be improved but nothing to reproach for that of the room. Attention to the access as steep stairs and no elevator.

We took the perfect family loft if you have children with 4 double beds. Very clean and right to the dog $15

A place well located near the Metro.

I too believe that the comments are not made by the customers necessarily. Arrival at the establishment, only 4 parking is free, while it is written on the site free parking. They send us to park in the street… on awakening… parking ticket. In the window, they indicate that they are not responsible for the parking tickets and that there was a parking lot in the area payable. They weren't trying to say it before! Thought of taking that picture. Besides under the bed, a dirty towel is there, and it's far from clean. So when I see the other reviews they found other things under their beds, it tells me downright that this place is far from being cleaned! Their continental breakfast is not the best either.

Overall a very comfortable stay. The location is great if you want to explore different parts of town by foot or metro; Sherbrooke Station is only two blocks away and on rue St. Denis there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. You can walk to the Village or further up on the Plateau and pard de la Villette is also walking distance. Polite and helpful staff. The breakfast is continental; I would much prefer a fresh baguette at a place called Hôtel de Paris, but the pain au chocolate and a Montreal bagel was just fine instead. Merci, à la prochaine!

This is a cute, clean budget hotel. Right on Sherbrooke so reasonably central. I was in the annex across the street, ground floor. Rooms are lightly renovated: new — ish bathrooms and furniture and redone floors. The bed was slightly saggy but not awful. The rooms are spacious. Windows are thin, and there's some ambient noise and building noise but that's to be expected. Breakfast is in the Thai restaurant downstairs-it's a nice spread with bagels, croissants, charcuterie, sweets, fruit and yogurt. Tips expected, so save some cash for this. The only weird thing was that my room constantly smelled like someone had just cooked a bowl of instant noodles in it. I tried airing it out, but the next day when I returned it smelled the same-It was probably from a restaurant in the area since common areas didn't smell like food. I got a good rate and overall was very happy with the value for the price.

Small clean room nicely updated apart from the moldy shower. Bed is ok. No soundproof privacy. Not accessible; many stairs to climb outside and inside. Smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway. Staff is really nice and polite. Reception is open 24h, convenient for late check-in.

I have spent two nights at the Hotel in Paris and the truth is that I have been delighted, the rooms and beds were comfortable and clean, the breakfasts were very good and the attention was spectacular. Perhaps the only problem is that the hotel does not have an elevator and therefore you have to carry the suitcases, and that the parking is a few places allocated to the hotel in the street, which can be filled, and implies having to look for another parking on the street, which doesn't have to be a simple task.

3 stars! Nice little hotel in the Montreal area. We stayed for 1 night here. Clean room, but bathroom was tiny. There was a bar on the basement, but we went down there was nothing there. Overall not bad.

The room we booked, is not the room we got. The bathroom was tiny, and there was a horrible noise coming from a running toilet. We called the front desk, the assured they would do something and never did. We were also never made aware that we would be staying the annex across the street. It was noisy as all get out. The breakfast was self serve of soggy Costco bagels and mushy fruit. This Place is a disaster. When I called for a refund, it took me 4 calls to talk to the manger to get the refund. This place is horrible don't waste money or your time staying here.

Very bad experience. I believe the good reviews were written by the staff or hotel management…
It smells like cigarettes in the home and floors are dirty. There are no sheets in the beds, only a duvet and the regular rooms are tiny so I can't imagine the economical rooms! Under My bed there was a stocking, a bottle cap and a lot of dust, there was blood on the curtains and the shower had traces of mold… Breakfast = cheese that dates from the day before with the dried corners! No elevator, room across the street (if something is missing you have to go out and get to the front desk on the other side) to avoid!

I did not give 5 stars to the stairway to the entrance.

Nice hotel. Breakfast is very basic. Hard boiled Eggs, one type of cheese, one type of deli meat, 3 types of bread, 2 types of cereal, some juice, coffee and tea. Close to some nice restaurants and eateries. A walk from public transport or a 5 minut drive to old Montreal. Overall, totally worth the $300 that we paid for a 3 night stay, for a couple, during Christmas.

I couldn’t travel to Montreal so I couldn’t stay at the hotel too. Anyway, they allowed me to cancel it without any charge. I am very grateful. The service is excelent!

Clean place, nice and respectful staff, nice budget rooms, good breakfast. Only downside: Bad soundproofing. We e'te'd not bad what can pass in the other rooms.

From the outside, the building looks like an old mansion that was converted to a hotel. Building looks very old and likely has some history to it. The room I had was quite small, but it did the job. Honestly, I was only there to sleep and shower. Most of my day was spent exploring Montreal. Bathroom was kind of tight with a wall right up against the right side of the toilet. It was fine for me, but possibly not very practical for significantly larger folks. There is parking in an alley behind the hotel for 3 vehicles. I was lucky to get one of those 3 parking spaces. Otherwise, I have no idea where anyone would park other than on the street which has restrictions. The hotel is conveniently located about 2 blocks from a Metro station, which I used to get around town while I left the vehicle at the hotel. Oh, and the hotel is not handicapped friendly as you have to climb a set of stairs to get to the entrance and front desk area. So keep that in mind. My room rate included free breakfast, so that was kind of nice. I would stay here again, provided that I can be guaranteed a parking spot.

My husband and I stayed for a night as a get-away from the kids. The place was wonderful and we left completely relaxed. The staff was great and took care of everything with no stress, the room was very clean and well kept, and there was a European style breakfast buffet included with every room. If you have any trouble with stairs, this hotel will be a problem for you. We stayed in room 36, with a king size bed.

A good place to rest, all very friendly. Includes breakfast which is substantial, buffet type; Fruit, yoghurt, cereal, oats, juices, water, cold meats and cheeses, sandwich bread, bagels, coffee and tea. The only thing that could improve is the cleanliness as in our stay they only "pulled" the sheets, never aspired or cleaned. It's super Central. They speak English and French and a Spanish boy. Check out at noon. We were allowed to check around 10:30a. The rooms Chiquititas and the bathroom! Like I said, to rest is fine.

We are having an absolutely wonderful time here. The location is great, a five minute walk to the Orange Line so everything is super accessible. Great service, wonderful breakfast, comfortable room.

For Montreal very quiet and pleasant hotel. Good breakfast and very pleasant staff.

It is very well located, it includes breakfast and is rich what they offer is like mini buffet, the people in charge very friendly but the rooms are very small, no elevator and few parking places. I would recommend it if you come to know and not to enjoy the amenities of a hotel.

Everything here is excellent… We did not speak French but the locals are very friendly.

We had the de luxe king room, massive bed, nice sofa/sofa bed placed in the turret, very spacious. Air con and fridge were noisy but glad to have both. No lifts so a great deal of effort getting up all the steps! Good exercise! Breakfast in connected Thai restaurant is continental style, meat, cheese, fruit, bread fir toast. Cereals, coffee, juice.

Wonderful atomsphere and setting. Perfect location for great food, great walks, and amazing nightlife. The attached restaurant had a wonderful free breakfast. Loved that the unit had a kitchen. Would recommend and stay again.

It was located around 20 minutes from downtown where the popular bars and clubs are. Perfect if you want to go and enjoy the Montreal night life. The room we booked was a bit too small for the price we paid and did not have a microwave and a fridge but this was not a deal breaker as we spent most of our day outside.

Quaint, charming hotel. The rooms are small but that's to be expected from a building that was built in the early 1900s. The rooms are clean and have character. The staff is very helpful and so friendly! Good breakfast too. Can't believe this is only a 2 star hotel…!

Great hotel! Amazing value. Room in the annex (across the street) was seemingly newly renovated and very comfortable. Air conditioning was amazing and controlled via remote. Cable also in rooms with flat screens. Only negatives would be no elevators and the lack of any shelves/drawers on the rooms. As well no garbage on the room, only in the bathroom. Staff is super friendly and helpful.

Nice structure in the center with thirty minutes maximum of walking you are everywhere clean rooms staff friendly parking though very small.

This place is awesome! We were lucky to have a parking place in their small lot. Mattheu was fabulous at the front desk. He offered friendly service as well as great suggestions for our first night there! The breakfast croissants (plain and chocolate) were wonderful! The hotel was funky and in a great neighborhood to see Old Montreal and get to the Walk of the Giants that kicked off the 375th Anniversary! If you are looking for a down-to-earth place to stay while you discover Montreal, this is a great choice for the price.

The hotel is simple but very cosy and my husband and I felt in home there. The breakfast is very good and taste like home-made. For us this is not an issue, but it's important to mention that the hotel has no lifts and it has lots of stairs.

I made an online reservation, and I never received a confirmation email. Their reservation page clearly states that until you receive an email the room is not booked, so I assumed they had no room or just didn't process my order, and so I booked a different hotel. I then had a nasty surprise on my credit card statement; they charged me for the room when I never got any kind of confirmation email about the reservation which I didn't use. When I called the hotel regarding this issue, the person who answered told me that maybe they didn't send an email but that it was my fault for not calling them. And so I have learned an expensive lesson; never book a room at this terrible place again.

I woke up this morning to a gorgeous veiw and sat on the balcony drinking coffee. This is a perfect location within the city. It's cozy and clean. In my opinion I would rather this than a large corporate place anyway. Pillows could be better is my only gripe. Otherwise fantastic.

It was a cute place. Very affordable and just a place to sleep while we vacationed. The room was small but it was only the two of us.

Great price for a great room. Its a small room made just for sleeping. It was clean. Bathroom was nice and the people were helpful.

Was in an executive queen room in the Annex building. Good sized room, comfortable bed, tastefully decorated. Bathroom was a little cramped but not bad. The high ceilings made the room look a lot more spacious and classy. Breakfast was either a bagel or toast, with coffee and orange cocktail and yogurt. Not bad but probably won't fill you up. Service was excellent, very friendly staff.

I can't believe the poor reviews on this hotel. I see quite a few people state that the only reason this hotel has 3.7 stars is because of staff but I honestly don't think that is the case! So I will be 100% completely honest in my review for the two days I spent at this hotel with my fiance on Monday to Wednesday in January. If you are looking for an amazing hotel that is 99.9% clean with big rooms then go spend over $200 a night on another hotel. This hotel is one of the best hotels I stayed at FOR THE PRICE of $37. The negative aspect of this hotel: — if you have physical disability or limited mobility this hotel will completely wrong for you. — the stairs are old (its an older building) and should be better maintained. Also, there are A LOT of stairs outside and inside. — Parking is terrible but so is every other place in Montreal. If you are looking for a hotel with parking that is not on the side of the road or free in a parking garage… this hotel is NOT for you. — the room I had had a little kitchen but no stove or microwave just counters, sink, and a coffee machine. If you want to warm up food or make your own you might as well find a different hotel. — it is outdated but that is what I loved the most of this place. For some that might be a negative for me it was a positive. — Small bathrooms but were beautiful and clean Positive aspects: — an older building and is quite beautiful! — Amazing prices as we got $37 a night which is quite amazing.

Had a reservation that was wrongly booked and instead of apologizing I had 4 employees gang up on me and explain to me how I was wrong. Have never experienced worst customer service in my life and would pay double to avoid this place.

Really, really wanted to like this place for it quirks, but there were so, so many flaws in our stay that I have to warn other's away. First, free parking is simply a lie. There are a few street spots available directly next to the hotel, but they still have enforcement times that require moving in the middle of the day during anything more than a few day stay. This was a major headache after driving all day to reach Montreal and finding out that there was no place to park within an easy walk of the hotel. Second, the room (in the Annex across the street) was a mix of broken screens, inoperable windows because of broken hardware, beat up paint, etc… (This for one of their premium rooms I might add. ) Couple this with room service that seems to only make the bed (but not change towels, provide additional bath products daily, etc. ) that generally seems to ignore the rest of the room issues. Third, The lobby area of the annex was filthy, the carpet looks like it had never been cleaned and was worn to threadbare in many spots and too make this even worse there was trash, ignored dead flowerpots, and general filth on every bit of the annex grounds/yard making what should have been a lovely building look completely neglected. The highlight here though was a broken plastic laundry basket that sat outside of the annex's front door for the length of our stay. Last, the bathroom appears to be a recent renovation by someone who must have actually never used a bathroom before.

Lots of fun. Ice cold beer. Sports from all over the world on new television screens. I had a great time!
