This was one of the worse hotel stays I’ve ever had. Pull up to a beautiful building to check in and all down hill from there. We asked for a water view when we booked and they didn’t have one available so I asked if anything had opened up when I checked in and got attitude but that may have been because I don’t speak French which seemed to be an insult there. We head to our room and the building it is in didn’t match the rest of the property. It seemed like they put down laminate flooring in a motel from the 1970s and said we’re a luxury hotel. We tried to eat at the restaurant there and didn’t like any of the 5 things they offered so we left. And than to top it off on our last night there the front desk calls at 7:30pm and says they’ve had complaints that my son is being too loud. I guess unless you can get a water view room you’re not a priority guest because it seems all the good reviews are the people who stayed in that building.
Next trip we are just staying at one of the little cottages on the water. Theres a difference between what this place claims to be and what it is and what it is is an overpriced Motel6. To rate this place I give it 1 1/2 out of 5.

Prior to our arrival I called and requested a water view room and was told they only had city view rooms. Once we got to our room and saw the “city view” it was laughable. There is no view at all, there is no city at all. The room was hot and muggy and smelled when we walked in. The first night we went to eat at the restaurant and realized there was maybe 4 items on the menu none of which was appetizing. We didn’t order and left. There are absolutely no restaurants to speak of anywhere near here. Fast food options are it. The second night we received a call from the front desk advising that another guest complained that our toddler was making too much noise at 7:30pm by “running” in the room. We advised our son is special needs and that the complaint was completely uncalled for. The hotel is small, not properly equipped and VERY over priced for what it is. I do not recommend anyone stay here. Take your business elsewhere!

I leave with regret if there had been a room available I would have added 3 nights to the 5 I spent at the Pavilion of the Sea. Comfortable room, helpful staff, welcoming and kind. Excellent food. Pleasant site with river terraces, the best hotel in the area.

Really relaxing, the view of the river is beautiful. Pool and spa always clean.
What about the Spa Health Center. A must for me and my spouse.

Our wedding at the Auberge de la Pointe was a day memorable and outstanding! ❤️

We got married at the hostel recently. The place is enchanting, perfect for the occasion. The staff is involved and very attentive, beyond all our expectations. High quality meal, even for more than a hundred guests. I highly recommend.

Such a great resort overlooking the St Lawrence River. Best sunsets! Welcoming staff, cozy and renovated rooms, very nice indoor pool opening up on a huge deck. The lounge and outdoor patio is the greatest in all of Quebec! Look at the pictures on their website and that will give you an idea. Lastly, great and tasty cuisine at the classy restaurant. Love this place!

This place is basically a glorified motel. Their “queen” size beds are really a double, the food at the restaurant is bland and flavourless, they serve warmed up stale buns and breads to mask the fact that they’re old. The rooms have been renovated and are fairly nice, but it’s still a motel. Very deceiving from the pictures and not at all what I expected.

Had a great stay. Location is perfect next to the ferry… The public areas are amazing. Great view of the river from the patio. Nice restaurant, bar and cafe. There are multiple during areas for sitting and enjoying the vast property. Staff is super friendly.

The staff are very courteous and friendly, the food is excellent, the bike loan was very appreciated, the places to sit on the back terrace are very very rare? Where you want to be to admire the river and the sunset! Do not take a room at ground level, the pruning of the treetops is not done and the view of the river is hidden! The main reason for our visit to this place!

Very well located hostel. We had a room in the Cape Pavilion: the beds were very comfortable, it's beautiful and clean. The view from the balcony is exceptional, you can see the river very well and the sunsets are beautiful here. In addition, you can sleep to the sound of the waves and with the breeze of the river. Very courteous and welcoming staff.

We chose here to stay one night for our road trip from Quebec City to Prince Edward Island. It turns out it is one of our smart choices made for this trip! The hotel is towards west, right beside the St. Lawrence River, and the sunset view is fantastic! They also have great on-site amenities eg. Indoor pool, bike rental, restaurant, drinking bar. Really enjoy those relaxed and romantic atmosphere! Good for both couples and families!

If you're after a motel then it pretty much does the job. We were in the city view building. It was clean had coffee and the beds were ok. The walkway and the floors above were wooden floors and you could hear every step and water running at all times. Has a pool and a view of you walk through to the main buildings. You can get a pretty decent breakfast as well. But at the end of the day it was basic but filled the stop over role.

It's a beautiful place. Courtesy and smiling staff. It's all clean. Exceptional view of the river. Close to everything. The Wolf River region is a place to discover. Kamouraska in particular. Lots of small and varied shops.

Dumpy, tired old motel style accommodation with many different styles of buildings on the property. We stayed in a pet room and it was clearly built 30+ years ago, with very little renovations. It was a clean room, but well used, with a musty moldy smell, and definitely not 4 star quality as advertised. Fine for one night, but closer to 2 star level. Very limited view of the water, on a deck with peeling paint outside the pool. Pool was old with a little renovation. The pictures were more flattering than reality. Over all, a tired old property that needs to be torn down and replaced, that they are trying hard to keep up. Good effort on the managements part, but this place cannot be advertised as 4 star, because it was gross, and I wouldn’t stay here again. The quality inn down the street would have been a better pick.

What an amazing place to stay! Hubby and I needed a get away and found this spot. Wow did we luck out! The service, food and resort were AMAZING! A special thanks to Charles who is a definite asset to this establishment. From front staff to cleaning staff to waitresses and bartenders, everyone was amazing. We even ended up staying another night, we loved it so much! Even the beds, bedding and pillows were top notch! I am a travel agent and would highly recommend this to clients who are traveling to that area or passing through!

Nice view of the river but very poorly insulated. You can hear everything. Not the best place to sleep. For the restaurant, my tuna plate looked like a slice of boiled bacon and it tasted nothing for 44.00. I was eating a burger after and it was better. Disappointment.

Very good brunch! I loved the salmon and the gravlax of smoked salmon as well as the unemployed pudding!

The Mirador is the perfect place to go for a drink with friends with a view of the river. Beautiful.

If you like the comfort that gives the impression of being in an old country house, you are in the right place. The room we had gave had a warm ambience but an extraordinary view.

My favorite hostel in Rivière-du-Loup, we go every year, very attentive staff, smiling, the rooms are clean, we take the Cape Pavilion, which offers a view of the river (and the superb sunsets) and we are never Disappointed. The pool is beautiful, clean and the water at the ideal temperature. I would recommend the hostel without any fear. :)

Going to the Auberge de la Pointe is an experience to live. I recommend sea side for more pleasures. The food is excellent. You have everything to satisfy yourself. I recommend them.

I participated in a symposium that was held at the Inn at the end of September, I was impressed by the reception of the staff, the cleanliness of the premises, the delicacy and the efficiency of the staff. It's amazing how they can make us feel so good when they have more than 120 people to look after at the same time. Excellent cuisine… menu suitable for vegetarians, gluten-free and so on. In addition, the beauty of the place is unparalleled, the edge of the great St. Lawrence River and the beautiful, magical and unique sunsets! Five stars without hesitation!

Fantastic time. All of the staff where amazing. Great food and service. Superb accomodations. Fun, romantic… scenic. Whatever you are looking for, you will be sure to find it here. Samual is the most helpful, genuine, professional person you could hope to find anywhere. Hats off to Vicky in the restaurant also.

The rooms are not air conditioned. When I raised this concern the owner attempted to convince me I should overlook this as the room had a good view of the river, which it did, and that it was a four star hotel. It is debatable as to this being a four star. What isn't debatable is attempting to convince a customer to overlook their comfort at a four star hotel and that I was free to leave as the room would rent right away. (The owners words paraphrased) Arrogance is not a hallmark of a four star inn. The owner did find us a nice room at another hotel after a prolonged conversation and did refund our charges. Had he simply done this from the start and acknowledged that his customers needs/wants come first it would be easier to see this as a four star.

Surprisingly nice. Recently updated. Beds were comfy. Slept amazing. Room faced ocean and our room had a Juliet balcony. Al kinds of lounging options including hammocks, lounge furniture and fireplaces. Pool is as good as photos show. Restaurant is too price. $60 for Table D'hôte for a multi-course seafood meal and breakfast. We ate elsewhere. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is great. You will have access to the river and a large terrace. The rooms are clean and the taste of the day. The swimming pool and the Spa will please the big and the young.

Renovated rooms are nice, but very small. The bathroom configuration is extremely small. No A/C which caught us by surprise, although the hotel did provide a fan, which helped. Grounds are very nice, bar area has a nice vibe as does that sitting area. Beautiful views of the Saint Lawrence.

Amazing views of the St. Lawrence. Situated on a broad part of the river so it is difficult to see the whales and porpoises in the bay. But what a fabulous view it is!

The rooms could be upgraded (bathroom, frige, etc. And they should change the painting on the walls. Its looks ugly.

Our third time here. Now it's even better. They added an inside pool and hot tub. A large terasse with a view. The sunset is beautiful if you choose a room with a river view. Room 251 on the third floor was good. And I had 2 queen beds. Friendly staff. Clean and renovated. No elevators. No A/C. Free parking. Fast Wi-Fi.

All I cancsay is wow 5 star place. The rooms were immaculate and has a great veiw and good price. The town its in has everything you could possibly need on a trip as well and its the most beutiful I have seen down this east. The staf speak fluent english and french and me being primarly english helped greatly.

A wonderful setting associated with a table perfect. A small staff. Everything to delight the mind and body. I highly recommend! Me that coming from France had the chance to taste at the table, the pool and the House.

They allowed Dogs :) Had a wonderful visit with my dog, beautiful view from the room and nice walking trail near the hotel. Can't wait to go back.

This is a great place to stay and had undergone several upgrades every year. I have read several comments in the reviews here and I am quite chocked. This is a family hotel that is not on the stock exchange, therefore limited financial resources for a 6-month a year operated hotel. However, over $200 K is spent every year to upgrade the rooms and add functionalities to the hotel such as a lounge and a reception meeting room facing the river that were added in 2007. This is family/friendly hotel where most commodoties of a big hotel has to offer. It's great location is what makes it a wonderful place to stay. Customer service is great and rooms are comfortable and clean. Be aware that some may have had a not so good experience and that some are very critical too and do not know anything about what hospitality is, especially in a small town. I highly recommend this place that has been operating since 1957 and now operated by third generation in Cote's family.
