This place is an absolute dump! DO NOT BOOK HERE! You will seriously be disappointed! Tried to use the Hot Tub and apparently you are not allowed to use it as it is full of kids! The LifeGuards have no idea what the rules and regulations are! All I can say is that the place is a dump, do not stay here! Oh and if you want to have a drink in the lounge, you are bothering them!

It's a place to stay when you are on the road. Clean and friendly. Close to almost everything.

Over charged saying we didn’t pay when you pay every night you stayed there keep receipts plus rude front desk lady you talk back to the front desk lady she will kick you out just because you stand up for yourself and when the manager around they tend to be super nice.

I ordered the Wednesday special Steak & Shrimp! I highly recommend it so so awesome! 2 skewers of shrimp, steak perfectly done and sides with salad! I will be back!

The staff is very nice and friendly, room was clean and quiet, and the kids love the pools and water slide!

This hotel was VERY dirty, which is very disappointing, I was looking forward to bringing my little boy swimming, but once we checked into our hotel room, we noticed that it was like someone just straightened up the room instead of actually cleaned it, and that changed my mind and set my feel for the entire hotel as not sanitary what so ever!
The sheets on the beds were 100% used sheets, had long black hairs on every pillow case, all over both beds in between the sheets and all over the comforter. They also had stains, smears and dirt all over the comforters and sheets.
I called down to the desk and told them, they sent up fresh sheets only, no comforter, no pillow cases… I was really hoping for a new room that was actually clean, but that wasnt an option, so I had to change them myself, but what was under the dirty sheets seemed even more disgusting. I ended up putting the clean sheets over the dirty ones.
We told the front desk we would be checking out because of the room condition, and they ended up charging us for the night… full price.
Also, very noisy!

This is the worse hotel I’ve stayed at. Issues at check-in, and throughout the visit. Screen falling off the window, bathroom faucet that comes off in your hand. The hotel hires snow removal in the parking lot during the night and is unresponsive to requests for less noise. Lots of yelling in hallways. This hotel is not as advertised and I would never recommend staying here.

Having just attended a dinner for over 400 people, I cannot compliment the Vic Inn team enough for their outstanding service. Serving that many 5 course meals requires leadership and synchronicity, both of which were in full force. Add the fact that the chefs prepared the most lovely beef tenderloin imaginable, and you have a 5 star recommendation from me. Well done, Vic Inn team,,, kudos to you all!

The night manager kicked my minor daughter out on the streets when she had a panic attack, was staying there for that medical reason. I tried contacting the GM to get her belongings back with no response, (staff had “lost” them)
Will be making a complaint with their head office.

Staff are very nice and they make you feel like home if you need anything they try there best high five to the staff …
Plus if ur on medical they try let you stay long as the house keeping dont mind.

Rooms not what had been booked, got put in standard rooms and not poolside was there for birthday party with grandchildren. Was asking for table for poolside party then threatened by staff to charge us $200 more if any party stuff brought out. Room was not cleaned during the day never again from this Grandparent!

Reception on arrival was great. Checking in went smoothly & quick. I enjoy staying here. Restaurant service was just as great.

Check in was great the lady at the front desk was very helpful. The rooms where very clean and well done up. Bathroom was very clean and the shower had great pressure. Beds where super comfortable. Other quests where very nice and respectful to others in the hotel. House keeping where attentive. Breakfast was fantastic best Belgium waffles I've had, check out was fast easy. I really loved the service, the hotel clerk texted to see how things where and how my expectations where being met. I never used the pool but it looks fun and the kids seem to be having a lot of fun. I will for sure be staying again. Great service, I will also be telling friends and family who will be travelling to Thunder Bay to choose this hotel.

Absolutely great. Am travelling across Canada and the last 2 hotels (Comfort Inn) have been about a 1 star! Amazing friendly service, fun pool and great for my 16 month old, dog friendly, clean rooms, comfy bed, beautiful shower, not noisy… I am beyond pleased after having a couple of bad hotel experiences! I travel often and this hotel is definitely recommened:) Third time staying and will be back…

Overall, the visit was good. The beds were very comfortable, the food was great at the restaurant (and the service very friendly) and the room pretty clean. We were on the third floor and didn't realize that they were renovating the floors there. The flooring in the halls were all torn up. That wouldn't have been much of a problem but it may have effected the sound-proofing if the hotel… we could hear doors slamming down the hall a lot into the night. The only other issue was the shower. It was scalding hot when turned all the way on, and was difficult to get enough water pressure when at a comfortable temperature. However, neither of these issues wrecked the trip, and overall we enjoyed our stay.

While we why we staying at the Victoria Inn Hotel for the purpose of the pool and water slide and were completely satisfied with the conditions of both, we were surprised to find that we were not warned that there were renovations taking place on the 3rd floor where our room was located. The carpeting had been removed in all hallways and flooring under it had been ripped up to reveal an uneven surface which only really became an inconvenience while trying to carry luggage in and out. Luckily there were two sinks in the bathroom because one was clogged before we arrived and although we decided not to alert staff of such an insignificant matter we became slightly sorry that we did not the next morning as we attempted to use the toilet and shower but both were caked in thick black hair from a patron before having shaved in the shower and trying to dispose of it in the toilet. The other patrons on the floor we were staying on were rowdy and loud in the halls as well as slamming doors quite excessively for a short time as we tried to fall asleep. The sound echoed much more as the flooring had been torn up. Considering all this it still wasn't a terrible stay due to the staff at the front desk being both polite and efficient at their job. The restaurant within the hotel having great staff and excellent food also helped redeem the experience. As mentioned the pool and water slide were just as safe and fun as expected.

Great place to bring the family! Clean rooms, nice hotel, great pool facility. I appreciate that it is pet friendly and the staff were very knowledgeable about the area. My only recommendation would be to have warmer water in the toddler wading pool as my little one wouldn't get in because it was too cold. The regular pool was much warmer.

I had a horrible stay in this hotel on July 19 of this year and I'm still battling with the hotel and have actually started a lawsuit process… My son went down the water slide and apparently it had a piece of broken plexi glass at the top, which staff was aware of and so was the evening mgr Andre yet they still allowed the children to use it and unfortunately my child suffered a 6.5 inch gash on the top of his scalp that went right through to the skull bone and required an ambulance ride and 7 stitches and the hotel still had the audacity to make us pay for our room So now not only did I have to experience this crap BUT I had to pay for my room AND an ambulance bill. My 1 kudos moment does go out to the amazing young lifeguards that were on duty that evening. They were both so attentive to my boy and managed to keep us both as calm as possible till the ambulance ride, which is way more then I can say for the lousy mgmt on that evening who stood there with his arms crossed the whole time and tried to place all blame on my 10 year old son.

We had a poolside room and I was slightly worried about the noise, though they closed it down on time and the lights were dimmed prior to us going to sleep. Yes, no sound coming in the venting either. Beds were comfy. Clean rooms, no odors. With the exception of the exterior signage, all looked to be well maintained. The food at Chicago Joe's was delicious, though the morning wait staff seemed less rushed than the evening. We were able to enjoy the free breakfast since we booked through their website. It was delish! Remember to tip, even if it is free breakfast! Internet was a bit too slow for our liking. We will stay again though given opportunity. (We read all the not so favorable review prior to staying, so wanted to enlighten those who may be hesitant :) )

Well… room smelled kind of iffy, found some long black hairs in the beds. Pool was super fun, kids loved it (the baby/toddler pool could have used a cleaning) We had wings and nachos at the restaurant. Nachos were gross but the wings were actually so so good! Some random person kept walking by our room trying to open the door without even trying a key so that was super creepy End story is … room could have been way cleaner, the outside could really use an update. We almost didn’t stay because of how sketchy the place looked. Could use better security! Random creeps just wondering around the halls… didn’t feel safe at all…

Hello, my family and I just stayed at the Victoria Inn Thunderbay on the 24th July 2018, where my child had found a hypodermic needle. When I brought this to the staffs attention, they had called the house keeping manager immediately. When she eventually showed, she had asked me where I found it multiple times and then proceeded to coordinate with the front desk. Once she was done she looked at me with disbelief and walked away; not showing any concern nor stating any form of an apology. The front desk said sorry for the matter and Compt. My room. The night prior I had brought to their attention that their rooms were not clean, as I found half drunk beer cans in the fridge. This was not as much of a concern. However looking back, I should have queried on what else could be in these rooms. Today my frustration lies with not only glaring safety concerns in my room, but also the staffs disregard for the health and welfare of their guests.

Rented a room for my sons birthday! Was greeted with a huge smile at check in. Got a follow up text checking on us and how the room was. Room was very clean and large. To top off this stay we had the most top notch service from a very fine young gentleman named David. This young man never stopped once I noticed because he was going above and beyond to look after each and every guests needs. Thanks for making our night!

The seminar was in their largest conference room and it didn't get stuffy nor hot, even though it was packed. I'm sure the event organizers worked with the hotel to flow the registration process to be as fluid as possible, and it was quick and painless.

Pros: The front desk staff were friendly and fixed a booking issue for me pretty quickly. The rooms and meeting rooms are clean and any service staff I met was very friendly. There's a grocery store right next door if you need anything and there's multiple restaurants within walking distance. Cons: The hallways are dark and there's always cots and room service plates sitting outside rooms.

The room looked great! They must have recently renovated it! Neighbour was a little noisy but that's what you deal with on a long weekend, and not the hotel's fault.

I loved it a lot but you can not learn the boscares at the pool…

It was nice, the place has a waterslide and a big pool and hot tub. Rooms are amazing because they keep it clean, TV and more. Service is also great. One bad thing though Me and my family saw a mice in room 317 we were in and I can't possibly know if there are more around the hotel or if there are holes somewhere but so far it was the one room. We also got another room free I'm glad and I hope you can get rid of the mice as soon as possible. But ignoring the fact this happend it is a great place to stay (in my opinion)

Went to Chicago Joe's for our Anniversary dinner tonight. The service was fine. The food left something to be desired. I ordered the most expensive dish, the rib eye steak. It was horrible. Grissle more than meat and I fought with it the whole time. Not offered a discount or dessert. The baked potato was cold too. Don't get steak there.

There for a pool party, the pool was murky and my daughter said her eyes hurt from swimming in it. Yes, I realize it's chlorinated to keep it clean, but it might have been a bit heavily chlorinated as she's never complained about this before. Other than that the kids had a great time and the staff were friendly.

Will not stay again: Our room was not vacuumed, shower was dirty, we could see the light from the room next door between the wall and the ceiling and could hear everything (EVERYTHING) that was going on next door, and in the hallway. The pool was GROSS, cloudy, the pool deck was gritty and not well cleaned. We asked to speak to the manager multiple times and was told he was out driving the airport shuttle (each time we asked). I was also told they only have one cleaner for the "evening", which starts at 3:00pm. The "cleaner" is responsible for cleaning the pool area, the hallways, the elevators AND driving the shuttle. This place is a lateral move from the Landmark (don't stay there either) I should note we were upgraded to a suite after complaining, but that still didn't really make up for our concerns, and we could still easily hear the goings on in the hallway and next door.

This could be the best hotel but needs better cable package. No reason for such crummy tv. Everything else great.

Went there to swim with the kids and unfortunately they had to close the pool. Room 110 had no LAN cable to hook up our playstation. Lota of unsupervised kids running around breaking and stealing from the claw game machine yet we felt we had to be ushered back into our room at 11pm when we were quietly sitting and chatting with our neighbors. On the poolside rooms the little patio area should be considered part of your room and as long as your quiet you should be able to use it.

My husband and I stayed here after a big cross province move, the night before we had access to our new apartment. We stayed in a business room with a King bed. The hotel was very pet friendly with fantastic service. The room was gorgeous and very clean. The 4 star review is solely due to the room service quality. Some of the food was alright but other dishes were subpar. The pan "fried" perogis, for example, were sitting in a gross amount of oil (olive oil perhaps) and were very soft, oily and not obviously fried in any way. Other than that, we had a great stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Room was great, comfy beds. Pillows are quite stiff. Information was layed out on a desk in a binder, which gave out local food service areas. Room service, as in order from restaurant on floor level, got pricier as the day went on. Televisions still ran on basic cable, like all hotels do with only 30 channels. Best to bring something where you can stream Netflix, Internet is very good for streaming.

We had our Christmas party in the Kensington room, we had approximately 60 people attend, there was more than enough space for everybody plus the bar and the buffet. The service was fantastic and the food was terrific as well. There were absolutely no complaints.

Enjoyed my stay! can't complain, nice bed, nice food! love the platter especially in the mornings at CJ's. Wish I stayed on the non-pool side thou, I really didnt like the noise from the pool. Next time, I will not forget to mention to reservation I want a non-pool side whenever I make reservations in the future. Overall, great stay!

This hotel is our usual go-to. We had one issue with our last stay, the hot water stopped working temporarily (boiler issues), but it was fixed quickly. The front desk also made sure we got our same room when we had to extend our stay by a night, even though the hotel was booked full. All in all a good stay.

The rooms were clean. The food at the meeting was also quite good, though the eggs were a little plastic-y. The service was great, people were very polite. The pool was less noisy than I remember but you can always ask for an outside facing room. Heat was fast and effective in the room when it was turned up. The parking lot was pretty icy and could have used salt. There was a room mix up that was dealt with very quickly.

Didn't arrive until late in the evening, Paige had just started her front desk shift and was full of energy. She gave us a great rate and a beautiful room. The stay was short but it sure was excellent.

When we first checked in the manager seemed personally offended I didn't want to use my cell phone instead of a room key and was really weird about it. The room was fine and was actually the best part. The bed was decently comfortable but the air conditioning was horribly annoying. There is a small fridge but no microwave. The pool was pretty much useless because it was constantly filled with screaming children. As was the hot tub. It would be nice if they at least let the last hour or two of pool hours be adults only so we could relax or exercise in the chlorinated pee water without all the noise.

I recently attended the 25th Luncheon of Hope at the Victoria Inn. It was a lovely event. The staff were efficient and friendly. It was very well run by both the volunteers and the staff.

Very nice banquet room. It was remodeled recently and looked great. The food and service was excellent.

Went for supper at Chicago Joes and everything we ordered was bland. The chicken was like a rubber patty, the soup was flavored water. Shame since it use to be one of our favorite places to go.

Accommodating friendly staff and clean rooms. I enjoyed the fact that they had an airport shuttle as well. This is a great place to bring kids if they enjoy swimming. There's a nice pool here.

Many of the rooms face out onto the pool courtyard in this hotel. Unfortunately, there is no sound dampening between the pool and the rooms. You might as well be sitting out on the deck instead of in your room. Additionally, the hours of the waterslide (the point of booking this place) are weird — it doesn't open until late morning, but stays open until 11 at night. Not great for young kids. In the end, I would definitely recommend against this hotel for a conference or for a family stay. But the locals sure loved the pool as a nice hangout… maybe just don't rent a room and pay to use the pool?

My recent visit to Victoria Inn was good. The only concern I had was the level of noise caused by the neighbours in the next room. Other than the noise factor, I would definitely stay there again. The room was clean. Housekeeping was excellent. Meals were great. Everything was to our liking except the noise. Thank you for a wonderful weekend experience.

I had a room on the second floor overlooking the pool. Why is there a vent hole in the wall out to the pool? I had to get up at 4 to catch a plane and the noise from the pool coming into my room made it impossible to sleep. Called the desk and moved to a room on the outer side of the hotel. Don't understand why that vent hole has to be there. Sometimes it is quite noisy in the halls with intoxicated people wandering around. Rooms are nice and staff are friendly. Especially the shuttle drivers.

Decently clean rooms, renovations look nice, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. The internet is beyond slow (wired or wireless) and made it basically impossible to get any work done on it.

Very busy place, didn't feal lie we had the personal experience that we felt with other hotels. Also the fire alarm in the room beside us was beeping every 2 minuts.

Service is usually really great at the restaurant, however this last visit was strange. We couldn't tell if it was the manager or the waiter that was serving us and would often arrive one after the other asking the same questions.

Convenient, rooms clean and like poolside room. Service in restaurant was horrible some of the worst.

This is all in my opinion based on multiple stays. Location is great with a waterslide. Decent restaurant. Service is very good from front desk and resteraunt. Before you go it is a power house drinking establishment with drunkards people in the halls at all hours. Again from my experience.

It was fine. Big room, good food and good service, no interruptions. Not much else to say.

Very clean. Good food at Chicago joes but the old dude with the glasses that spends all his time straightening out chairs needs to chill. We were in the pool area 5 min after it closed and were standing up to leave when he yelled at us that the pool is closed. Yup dude we know we're no where near the pool and we are on our way out. Long and the short is I would give a 4 star review but grey hair glasses guy cocked over our stay. Will not be back.

Nice hotel — pool area is fantastic and seems to be a hit with families. Stayed here while looking for a new home and found the staff and amenities very nice. Restaurant was good value.
