no parking no access for people with disabilities stairs everywhere
construction that wasn't mentioned
and yes I called thr hotel prior to my arrival and asked all questions
the noise is incredible herd of elephants above me
not a good stay at all.

Rooms were not clean properly because housekeeping staff are not trained how to do housekeeping, hair everywhere.

Staff were very friendly and efficient. Our room was very quiet and clean. It’s a nice little place. First a few suggestions the toilet in the bathroom could be higher it’s very low for a person with Arthritis issues to get on and off. Second is once you use the body wash in the shower it becomes very slippery could use some strips on bottom of shower to prevent someone from possibly falling. Next is the pillows are very cheap and not comfortable. We found the bed very uncomfortable and seemed quite small for a so called Queen. It didn’t seem like a standard hotel type bed but more for a private home. We may give it another try but not sure.

This historic hotel is absolutely beautiful. The lobby is breathtaking with its very modern style. Our room was quite tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were extremely knowledgeable about the history of the building and very helpful with any request we had. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Loved this place.

Awesome customer service, clean newly renovated, most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on in any hotel! The ladies who run the Inn are the best… we will definitely be back.

Very nice place to stay when in Orillia. The rooms are clean and modern. The included breakfast in the morning is very good compared to most hotels I have been too. Really close to the lake and downtown. Everything you need is within walking distance.

Hotel was good. Decent breakfast, comfortable beds and pillows, clean, only complaint, we were in lower room right under breakfast area and in early morn we could hear all the chairs moving around. Other than that met our needs.

This was a wonderful hotel we stayed at. Very clean with updated, modern rooms. The serve breakfast in the morning which was a bonus. Reasonable price for what is included. Definitely could be a repeat customer in the future.

I stayed for one night on July 17th for business and had an incredible amount of paperwork to work on. This hotel did not disappoint! My room was fantastic — great view (I almost went down to the waterfront but my work would have suffered… A LOT! ), incredibly clean and spacious. The bathroom was awesome with all the modern amenities. The staff were extremely pleasant and friendly also which was nice after such a long drive — a smile goes a long way. I definitely have to come back for a pleasure stay!

I really enjoyed my stay here, the staff are very friendly and the room was lovely. In the room you can find a sign that says how due to environmental reasons, towels will be washed every 3rd day — which is very reasonable! I am, however, a little bit disappointed about how environmentally unfriendly the breakfast was. Plastic plates, cups, bowls, and cutlery, as well as water and fruit juice in plastic bottles, which led to a huge waste after the meal. I understand you may need extra staff or facilities to clean up the dishes, but I think that would be worth it considering the environmental damage such unnecessary plastic has. Also it would be a lot nicer to eat and drink using actual plates etc. Thank you for the great stay and considering becoming more environmentally friendly, in addition to your towel cleaning policies.

Great hotel with very nice rooms and modern decor. Hotel is very clean with comfortable beds and a big screen tv. Room has fridge and coffee maker. Furniture is nice, washroom is also modern with new showers and fixtures the decor is very pleasing. There is a free complimentary breakfast with nice big selection of different food. People working here are very nice and helpful. Only downside is parking due to being shared with restaurants nearby.

It's a wonderful hotel in a prime location near the waterfront in Orillia. The room I had was a little small, but very clean and with very nice furniture. The staff were extremely pleasant and accommodating.

This place is AMAZING! I blocked off rooms for a Jack and Jill we were hosting this past weekend. They were EXTREMELY accommodating. Added last minute rooms no problem, extended everyones check out, provided ample parking, and an amazing complimentary breakfast.
The staff are great, super friendly and eager to help with anything.
The rooms are beauties! The king size bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Very modern and very clean.
The location is prime! Right at the waterf…ront and downtown.
I would 100% recommend staying here,
And will defiantly return. Everyone from the jack and Jill loved it!

What a great place! Came up for a training and was put up at this hotel by my employer. Needless to stay I had no idea what to expect… This place is a hidden gem! Right by the water, close to all the restaurants, shops and casino. The hotel is newly renovated with clean rooms and a very comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was a bonus! If I come back to this area I'll be staying here! Thank you for great stay :)

Recently remodeled, very nice interior. Sound insulation from outside is a bit lacking. Request an interior room if you're a light sleeper.

Great front staff. Love the shuttle to Rama. Very nicely renovated. Best option for an overnight visit.

Room was amazingly big for Queen room. Pillow top beds with duvet comforter. Staff were very friendly. Exceeded our expectations, and price was excellent! Highly recommend!

Seems like it was recently renovated, front desk staff are super friendly, shuttle service to the casino is available for less than $12 return (on weekends, I believe), rooms were small (what do you expect for an almost 100 year old hotel? ) but very nice, room darkening blinds were great, blocked out all sounds and light, bathroom is very nice as well, my room had no tub but a shower, which didn't bother me one bit, note — extra towels are under the bathroom sink! Bed was comfortable, my room also had a small mini fridge as well, and a large flat screen. Everything looks like it's marble, very nice, most importantly, extremely CLEAN, looks like a small boutique hotel.

We arrived at the hotel with another couple and they upgraded our rooms to the third floor and provided complimentary late checkout. The beds were comfortable and room more spacious than it shows in the pictures. The front and cleaning staff were excellent. The cleaning staff ensured we had clean towels each day of our stay; the front staff were extremely helpful and made us feel welcomed. Check-in and checkout were smooth. Most who were staying at the hotel were attend…ing concerts at Casino Rama and with that in mind, the hotel was very quiet. We spent our evenings at the local English Pubs. The front staff scheduled a shuttle to Casino Rama. Keep in mind the shuttle is a yellow school bus – but – it created a great memory for everyone. (you had to be there) The other couples who joined us in Orillia missed the experience! Pros:
Location is close to excellent English Pubs
Downtown Location – You can walk everyone — need I say more.
Smoke-free hotel.

I booked a room here for just one night, to stay after a concert at Casino Rama. Hadn't expected much, but was very pleasantly surprised. It's obviously recently renovated, and I'd say kudos to the interior designer: very nice room, with fancy and modern design, including the bathroom. The room is on a smaller side, but doesn't feel claustrophobic. Everything is in its place, very well thought through. The only complaint I've got is about the noise: you can hear people walking and​ talking in the hallway, the cars in the street, and the AC/heater unit is quite loud. But when I mentioned this during the checkout they took notice and gave me a discount, which was very nice of them. No complaints whatsoever about the reception staff.

The room was smaller than expected but the place was very quiet and clean! The staff were extremely friendly and the continental breakfast was great! The bed was sooooo comfy.

My husband Richard and I stayed at this hotel when our grandson was a patient at the local hospital. His 4 month old sister needed to be available for nursing with her mother and we were charged with the responsibility of caring for her. We are seniors and looking after an infant was not in our plans over the holidays. The hotel made our job so much easier than it could have been. The staff is without doubt the best I have ever encountered. They were at all times, ready and willing to help us in any way they could… from washing baby bottles to offering rides to the hospital on their personal time. The general manager is out front and visible as well as readily accessible when needed. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The building has been recently renovated and amenities are more than adequate. The breakfasts hit the spot rivalled only by home made cookies and coffee one afternoon. The lobby is open and friendly, a perfect place to read a magazine or newspaper in front of the fire. We would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again and recommend it to friends and family.

Service a great. Staff were super friendly. Location is central in Sarnia right next to a supermarket (Metro) and very close to a Shoppers Drug Mart. My only complaint is the size of the rooms. They are tiny… like NYC tiny… I heard the room with the fireplace is very nice…

This hotel is very comfortable and well maintained. It has a contemporary feel in a historic setting. The staff is super friendly and always willing to go that extra mile. Minutes away from historic downtown with very quaint shops and numerous restaurants. Only negative was limited parking. I highly recommend this place.

What a nice find! A boutique-y downtown hotel, steps. From the dock-walk of. The transient. Marina of Orillia, on Lake Couchiching. This. Is connected to the Choice chain, and just. Getting up to. Speed after a serious reno. The. Champlain Hotel, in the same spot figured widely in the stories of. Stephen Leacock, set in the town of Orillia. There has been a great effort to include this flavor in the reno, so look for the little mementos. Handicap accessible, lots of dining options just outside the door, the staff is friendly and helpful.

Excellent experience. Brand new renovated rooms with king sized beds. The girlfriend loved the bathroom lighting. Staff was very helpful and accomadating to our needs. Great stay right in the heart of Orillia. Lovly restuarant with beautiful patio. Overall great.

A unique boutique hotel. Recently remodeled and looking quite sharp. The check-in was quick and the staff was very friendly.

We were booked at the Best Western Mariposa and upon arrival we were told that we had been moved to a different hotel — Champlain Waterfront. No one advised us about this change. Best Western front desk blamed Expedia for not letting us know about the change. When checking in to Champlain Waterfront we were advised we would have the "same" type of room as what we had booked at the Best Western, which was a king bed with fireplace Not the case. Front desk staff at Champlain assured us the room was a king bed with a fireplace. Champlain Waterfront gave us a room so small with a double bed, no bathtub, and a small window looking at an air conditioner unit and roof top under construction. No elevator in this place. We were charged the same rate as Best Western … this hotel is no more than a one star and we will not be returning. After calls with Expedia … they confirmed it was the Best Western who changed our hotel … so they were not honest with me. $256 for a room the size of a cereal box was brutal.

I booked a King bed suite room online that said it had a whirlpool tub a week in advance. I had spoke to the front desk and was told they could not match the online price. When we arrived we were told that indeed they had a king size room for us, No whirlpool tub and had we been warned about our room being next to the nightclub that started up at 10 and went to 2am and it would be very loud. We were then offered a room with one double bed at the same price. Doesn't seem right to downgrade rooms at the same rate. The front desk clerk had an attitude and offered to call around to find us other accomodations. She started at the highest priced hotels but did finally find one room at a lower priced hotel that offered us two double beds. I would go to the Knights Inn again anytime I am in the area. Staff was pleasant, hotel was very clean and you got what you were told. I would never consider booking another room at the Rodeway Inn again.

It's a typical rural road side motel pretending to be a quality hotel. The musky smell wasn't masked very well by the vinegar cleaning solution. The front desk clerk was a senior citizen, friendly and chatty his name was Don. He was as nice as you'd expect a persons of his age as a desk clerk. I didn't think he had any strength in him to lug my cases up to the third floor so I did it myself. The room was clean and the sheets were either starch pressed flat sheets, or they were so low a thread count they felt like burlap but crisp. Wi-Fi is a bit spotty in some locations of the room but it was usable. On check-out there was a girl with attitude. She was glaring at anyone and everyone. And she seemed more attentive to Twitter than guests waiting for service. Is this Jen? She looked like she was going to pick a fight with anyone daring to bother her. I know we can't hire someone based on looks but come on who are you trying to attract, the wild funky bunch? Thank-you Don for the pleasant and professional service. NO thanks to the rude Twitter girl. I may come back but only if Don services me…

Where does one begin. Huge mistake. We won't be staying at any Quality Inn Hotels after this experience. The room was very small, the shower had hair in it, the carpet was filthy, but at least the bedding was clean. The staff was very polite but really young. Obviously school kids on summer jobs. The breakfast, oh yes what breakfast. The picture on their website is NOT what is actually there. Instead you get store bought cookies and eggo waffle and coffee with grounds floating in it. First night ok, second night (Friday) music from the club attached woke us up a 1 am with base music so loud it vibrated the floors and coins on the table. This went on until after 2:30am. We bought ear plugs for the Saturday night which was still loud but not as bad. We were told this goes on every Friday and Saturday. Sunday night drunks were hanging out in the hallway waking us up at 3am. Don't know if they were guests or not. The night staff was just a young man (maybe 20 yrs, if that) so he would not be seen as authority and they continued to party in front of our door. I had to call him twice to do something or he would be needing to call police. At the same time the a/c went down and the room air became thick and dank. All I can say is we will NEVER stay here again.

If Jen is working the front desk run fast she is possibly the rudest front desk clerk I have ever had the misfortune to run across. Booked room through Expedia was told by Jen that reservation would not be honoured should have booked through them and we were not her problem. She then very rudly told me I should go elsewhere as she was busy. They gave me a room with single bed and told me to come back at 3 had booked a room with 2 doubles months in advance and paid for in advance. Raj a hotel employee found us a room in the dungeon/ice box of a basement. No cold water in the sink taps mother in law nearly melted her false teeth trying to brush them. No elevator 74 yr old mother in law nearly passed out hiking the stairs. Brutal place to stay. Only. 5 above sleeping in the car! If it wasn't for Raj would have slept in the car. 0 parking available.

Smallest hotel room I’ve ever seen, lousy breakfast, shoddy internet – 3/10.

I made the mistake of booking this hotel for a business trip in June 2011. The location would be great if you were going to lake, but it's surroundings are filthy. Its connected to a Sushi resturant so the smell if terrible and its in the same lot as a small complex of stores including a hock shop, so there is a steady stream of top notch people in the area ;). The rooms are quite small and reak of curry, fish and sweat, does not help that they turn the A/C off when there is no one in the room. I would advise to turn the A/C on full and leave for an hour to get some of the stench out. The room was dirty and the bed sheets were stained, but atleast the shower had hot water. The employees were polite, well atleast I think they were, they didnt speak very good english. The buffet breakfast was a joke, I went there at 8 am and there was not even coffee brewed?, and the only food they had was fly covered bread and stale cereal. Overall I could not wait to leave, but it was my own fault for getting a hotel that close to lake in the summer. It would be alright if you go and spend as little time as possible in the room and come back to the room drunk and pass out and forget about were you are; fortantly there is a liquour store across the road to help you with that.
