Staff were friendly enough and the menu looked good, but I didn't stay. They were preparing for an event so staff were running all over the place, there was some construction being done on the outside, and no other customers. Too chaotic, not sure why they stayed open that night. The washrooms are clean though! The bar/restaurant is below street level and the facility does not appear to have an accessible access.

Nice and intimate restaurant with delicious food for a reasonable price. Loved the $10 meat and cheese board.

Went in for a few drinks with some coworkers and we order a few apps. We weren't happy with how small the tacos were and their presentation. Too expensive for what they're really worth. It started to rain shortly after and the rain kept coming in from their window. Flies everywhere too… Not sure I'd go back.

Went for summerlicious and thought all the courses were delicious. The atmosphere was nice and clean. Service was good.

We tried Summerlicious here and loved it! Food is good, portions is right, and we like quiet atmosphere. Service was attentive and we found it relaxing to dine here. Recommend and we will come back to try their lunch on their regular menu!

Stayed here for a wedding — the wedding ceremony and reception were lovely and the food was great. But the hotel rooms are basically garbage. The walls are paper thin. We could hear everything our neighbours were saying word for word. The carpets were full of crumbs and who knows what else — I actually cut my foot on a piece of glass that was imbedded in the carpet. So gross. Would never stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone.

I come here with friends to drink at the bar of this boutique hotel. The atmosphere is great. It's a quiet, cozy, comfortable place to drink and chat with friends.

Beautiful quaint hotel with a modern twist. Exquisite food, nicely stocked bar, comfortable beds and large (open concept) rooms with comfortable beds. Definitely recommend.

It's located on a main drag in Toronto. You're definately surrounded by the hustle and bustle but, the rooms are very quiet. They're located near food (especially because of being in Chinatown) entertainment, public transportation and a bike rental station. The staff was knowledgeable and pleasant The bathroom is amazing. The main rooms are simple in decor but, impressive. The bed was amazing. Big windows with lots of natural light.

Loud as f*** AC that starts itself when turned off (Service program?! ). The front door is locked at night and key didn't work on front door. We were informed on check-in that key would work. Found a side door that worked due to luck. Reception said 'ops' when we questioned the front door the next day. Throughout the night you heard constant flushing. Sound level is unacceptable. When I needed to leave in the morning the elevator did not work as it was locked by an employee… Breakfast is a bad bad excuse of a breakfast. Next time I am going back to their competitors on the other side of the steet!

A nice big space that can accommodate a large group easily. Well-located. There are options for all dietary restrictions. The food is fine but nothing to write home about.

Excellent dinner with a party of 12 this evening. The service was attentive, the food delicious and great ambiance.

Great location for China town and some great bars and restaurants. Nice to stay in a fun small hotel that has some life to it too. Great to get somewhere for a good price that is not like all generic hotels. Cool design, big industrial style windows. Great shower. Nice cafe bar over 2 levels. Enjoyed it very much.

Good location, nice, welcoming and smiling people, clean and slylish room and bathroom. The only little thing would be in the details (some scuffs, scratches etc in corners, carpet, walls) but this doesn't prevent from having a good rest after a long day visiting Toronto!

Awful place, not like a hotel but a homeless shelter. Never gonna choose here again. No laundry, no services, no support at all. Lots of noises from conditioner, the shower nozzle is broken. Sad business trip here.

Attended a cozy wedding here. The food was tasty and the steak was a good portion. The staff was very apologetic and tried to make it up to some of the mistakes made with food. The upstairs dining can accomodate a large party (10 — 12 tables with 6 people at a table) but the stair case cuts the room in half and so it's difficult to hear speaches or see the newly wed table if sitting on the other half. There is only one washroom on this floor. A few more washrooms on the lower floor.

Cool venue. Staff were great up until the end of the night. One of the bartenders were kind of rude over an order my coworker made. It was a busy night though so some frustration I guess was understandable.

We hosted our wedding reception at Hotel Ocho. I'm so thrilled with how everything went: the service leading up to the wedding, during, and after. The food was amazing — our guests are still commenting on how delicious everything was. Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for an interesting location downtown. A+!

Love this place. I get a lot of my work and meetings done here, as its usually quiet from 1-3pm. Service has always been top notch. Thanks!

Went to OCHO for a wedding — excellent venue. Food was great. Cozy/intimate setting. Service was good. Easily accessible downtown. Only reason for 4/5 instead of 5/5 is not a lot of bathrooms on second floor, and servers making a little bit of noise in the back while people were giving speeches.

Great place. 2 levels. Beautiful layout. Easy to find. Underground parking is close by.

I have nothing but great things to say about the OCHO, from the perspective of their bar / lounge (I have not stayed at the hotel itself yet). There is a great, relaxed atmosphere that is paired with exceptional service. The food quality is fantastic and the drink selection is impressive. If you're there on a Wednesday, you can take advantage of the $5.75 2oz cocktails. It also makes a great place to go out with a date or with co-workers. I highly recommend it!

Great location, interesting cozy venue for a small to medium sized party or event. Food is excellent, especially dessert! Makes a great stop doing Spadina for drinks and a bite. Great for larger, talkative groups.

I enjoyed my stay at Ocho Hotel. PROS: I requested a more quiet room and was put at the back of the building away from the street. My standard queen room was pretty good. The bathroom was clean, the bed was comfortable enough, and the air conditioner worked well. I appreciated a free bottle of water as well. I needed ice, and the gentleman that checked me in got it for me and brought it to the room. I found everyone to be very friendly. CONS: I didn't bring shampoo or body wash with me because I was away for only one night. The only soap in the room was the little bar soap for the hand sink. I also found the blinds to let in too much light. Another curtain layer over the blinds would ensure a dark room to sleep in. I did enjoy my stay and will recommend this hotel to others!

Ocho is a great hotel. I was here for a wedding, which turned out to be one of the best I've ever been to, partly because of this great venue and staff. It's modern, city ambiance with wood and stone walls, huge windows and modern, sleek bathrooms. Everyone kept saying how delicious the food was! The rooms are also very nice — big bathtub, well-lit sink area, and a quirky bed placement in the very middle of the room. It's a very romantic venue!

I would not recommend this place to ANYONE. The gentleman at the desk was too interested in his phone conversation to check us in until we finally were about to walk away. There was a wedding taking place so we had to use the stairs and back entrance to get to and from our room, which was totally OK with us, BUT the stairs were so dirty and cluttered. You had to literally navigate around the clutter on each landing to go up the next flight. Also, the room had little to no lighting. I would not recommend this to hotel to anyone who plans on reading, writing, doing their make-up, or actually plan on matching their outfit for the day because you will not be able to see. The one tiny desktop lamp does not provide adequate lighting. Furthermore, when we went to go grab a drink at the hotel bar (not the night of the wedding) we were rudely told we could only have one. It was 11:26 on a weekend!

Cool bar on the ground floor. Lively bar scene with live DJ, but also lots of room to sit down and chat with friends without having to yell over the music. Will definitely checkout again.

Cozy and central. Happening restaurant on the ground level. Rooms vibe with industrial loft aesthetic featuring exposed hardwood beams. Bathroom with rainfall shower was fantastic. Big window and lots of light. Not new (carpet is thin and slightly worn) and travellers who can't lift their roller bags down 8 steps into the restaurant/lobby will need to ask for help. Will stay again. Four stars.

We got married at Ocho last August and have nothing but great things to say about Rish, Jamal and the entire team! They were great throughout the entire planning process, making sure to answer any questions we had and provide suggestions when we were unsure of how to deal with something. We found out the day before our wedding that our venue for the ceremony had been double-booked, and the Ocho staff immediately made sure that we were set to do the ceremony in the hotel, and it worked out great. Beyond that, rooms are nice and funky, food is great (both for our wedding and from the main dining room menu) and has a great vibe. Highly recommend this place for special events or just a place to hang out for dinner and drinks!

We chose OCHO hotel for our wedding party in August 2015 because we had our first date over there 2 years ago. The location was perfect and the price was very reasonable for such an excellent facility. The hotel has very chic rustic decoration, very fit to our party style. Most important, the staff and event manager were very helpful. They did everything they could to make our party perfect and unforgettable, all my guest told me they had very good time and really enjoy the party and food. We offered our honeymoon suite to our out of town guest and they really enjoyed their stay as well.

We had our wedding at Ocho on Dec 31, 2016. It was a beautiful and intimate experience. Rish and the team at Ocho made everything easy and stress-free. They handled all the details, leaving us to sit back and enjoy our wedding day. The food was great and enjoyed by all our guests, who raved to us about the night. The hotel rooms (in particular our suite) were modern and gorgeous. We highly recommend Ocho to anyone looking for an affordable and fun downtown Toronto wedding!

Paritosh and I hosted our civil ceremony and reception at Hotel Ocho in April 2015 and it was truly a memorable experience! The space has an urban look coupled with a historic vibe, very 'Toronto' feel to it and lots of natural light. I was in India when some of the planning was taking place and spoke to Rish, the coordinator, on skype few times — she was great! She would always offer practical solutions to any problems or concerns that Paritosh and I had. For example, on the day of the civil we forgot the name placement cards for the tables – Rish provided us with a quick solution and took care of all the stress! Our civil ceremony was casual but with some Indian elements such as a mini-barat, coupled with the vows, walking down the aisle, and speeches, so bit of Indian-Western mix. Rish and Jamal at Hotel Ocho were extremely helpful, professional and accommodating to all our requests — which we sincerely appreciate! A three course vegetarian meal was served — the guests really liked the food! In addition, 1-2 Indian dishes were served separately keeping in tone with the part-Indian theme of the day. The staff were friendly and generally quite helpful! Also, since we did not have a DJ, they even helped out with coordinating the music and sound system! Hotel Ocho is THE venue for those looking to have an affordable, hassle-free and memorable event! This place will always be a very special to us!

Getting married in downtown Toronto can be a stressful and expensive thing, but not if your getting married at Hotel Ocho! With Rish and Jamal (the dream team) planning and executing our wedding, our vision came to life. It was a very casual, easy going affair from start to finish. The team was always available to answer any of my (million) emails and questions. The venue was very accommodating and super helpful and most of all made the day of very seamless and FUN for us and our guests. The venue has great food, great portion size and the staff was very helpful! The space itself is very beautiful, exposed brick wall, floor to upper level windows with lots of light it didn't require a lot of additional décor. The couches and lounge chairs were great for extra seating around the dance floor/ceremony space area for our guests.

Terrible dining experience. We had a table booked for Winterlicious and were quite excited about attending the Ocho Hotel for dining. Wed had a dinner reservation for two. Upon being seated, we were not given a wine list. Our order was taken and upon delivery of our appetizers, still no wine list. I finally asked after a table seated next to us (well after us) was given a wine list and ordered a glass of wine. The appetizers. I had the chicken terrine, it was okay — a bit over powered by the apricot jam they paired it with my. My friend ordered the risotto — it was under cooked (crunchy) and served in a small bowl on a paper doily. Our entrees arrived and sat in front of us while I awaited new cutlery. This took several minutes. The filet mignon was over cooked and looked liked a child butchered it. All accompaniments on my plate were either luke warm or cold. Everything was under seasoned. My wine finally arrived half way through eating our entrees. My friend ordered the fish dish, which was just as terrible with cold sides and a very small piece of fish. Our desserts for this meal were the highlights. I had the rhubarb creme brulee and my friend had the apple walnut pudding. The meal was terrible. What made it even worse was that every plate brought to us was slammed down on the table by the server. This was additionally the only time that we saw the server. I would have ideally sent our food back and left, but as mentioned, we couldn't get her attention.

The bar service, enivronment, and secice were excellent. Prices for drinks were reasonable. Would recommend check it out.

Restaurant: This was my first Winterlicious event and my friends and I were not very impressed. The atmosphere was nice, but the food portions were SO tiny, we almost considered getting more food after. Butternut squash risotto was good, but my eggplant parm was small and there was more salad on the side than actual eggplant. My friends got the Halibut which was tasty but tasted like it was cooked at home with a couple unseasoned dry potatoes. Drinks were average. Staff was nice.

Went here for 2 weddings on back to back weekends one with full dinner and one with cocktails and they were both amazing. Such a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was good and not the traditional wedding from a banquet hall.

This is a little gem. We didn't stay there, just went for lunch. As with boutique hotels, service was very personal and great. Food was excellent. A week later we were there for a wedding. Atmosphere was simply excellent. The kind that only a small cozy place can create. Will definitely go back for dinner. This changed my mind about small hotels. May be I'll start looking for small hotels when I travel from now on.

For the price, you can't beet this place for cool luxury in a historic setting in Toronto's garment district. Staff is helpful, but relaxed. Great rooms! (No coffeemaker, so ask about that is you care).

We stayed here for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a small 8 room hotel with a bar and restaurant on the bottom floor. Even when the bar was packed at night we couldn't hear it at all on the third floor. The room and the restaurant had lots of exposed wood and the bed was very comfortable. However, the shower did have a weird smell in the morning and you could hear other couples through the vent in the bathroom. The location is perfect with about a 10 minute walk to center city. Would book again.

The room was very clean and cosy, it's extremely well situated in the city and the staff was very amicable and helpful! Great stay, I will keep this place in mind for my next visits to Toronto!

My wedding reception was held at Hotel Ocho last weekend. Booking the space and planning the event couldn’t have been easier. Rish, the Event Manager at Ocho, is absolutely amazing. She made the entire planning process a dream. The space looked phenomenal the night of the event. Hotel staff was incredibly professional. Leading up to the event I was a little concerned about the food. Ocho, however, was really flexible and let us play around with the menu and in the end the food was great. I received compliments all evening about the venue and my guests partied late into the night. I could not have imagined a more perfect evening. Thank you Rish! Thank you Ocho.

The environment was pretty slick, and the location was great. The concierge had great recommendations for dinner. And the room price was fair. One thing that bothered me was the lighting. The corridors and the washrooms were poorly lit.

Location, location, location… you can hardly beat staying at Queen and Spadina. This is a small boutique hotel, with few rooms, and don’t let appearances fool you: walk into the restaurant, and check-in at the tiny desk hiding in the corner by the elevator… there is a hotel in here somewhere. The rooms here are unique: I’ve never seen an arrangement where the bed is placed in the middle of the room. It works well enough, although the desk area was a bit cramped. Exposed brick walls and wood-board ceiling, with a beautiful bathroom with glass accents make this a worthy T. O. Destination. Parking is next door, and is limited. I was advised to park as close to the front of the lot as possible, as break-ins do occur. There is also limited parking right in front of the hotel, which is more secure. Anyways, this place will be on my Toronto short-list for good places to stay. 9/10.

Love this hotel. It's unique and charming. Location is perfect. The staff is very friendly. Rooms are clean and the standard is high.

I have been there a few times for coffee. I love the space and the coffee is great. We went for brunch on the weekend and were disappointed. It was overpriced (all the items were $15.95) and both the veggie fritters and the mushroom/ricotta crepe left something to be desired. The crepe was tiny and had two slices of mushroom in it. The fritters were more like veggie tempura all stuck together in a Thousand Island like sauce. I will go back for coffee or drinks but not for a meal.
