Absolute charmer! A delicious piece of Yarmouth with all the flavour of home and away. My husband and I felt very much cared for in the comfortable surroundings. We enjoyed a breakfast fit for a king. And his queen! We left with one thought and that was that we wished we had another night in Yarmouth to enjoy the delights of this treasure!

Fantastic place to stay! If you're working on the road, or looking for a nice, quiet getaway this is the place. It has a cozy feel to it and you're treated like family. There is no air conditioning but the breeze off the ocean and the fans in the room definitely make up for it. Matt, the owner is exceptional and is always accommodating to everyone. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. They have a quiet time after 10pm and I've never had an issue here. I'd recommend this place to anyone for their vacation. Give it a try and I promise you'll want to return. I've stayed here numerous time and will continue to do so.

We stayed here two weeks ago on our overnight trip around from the south shore through to the valley. Matthew, the owner/manager was very friendly. We stayed in one of the motel rooms that was two adjoined rooms, room 24, and it was super clean, very roomy, with everything you'd need. There was a mini fridge and microwave, and though there may not be air conditioning (we didn't need it, but some seem to prefer it) there were ceiling fans and box fans in both rooms, not to mention so many windows in both rooms to be able to open for lots of fresh air. We would stay there again!

Owner/manager is an amazing man who is not only friendly, lovely, and generally helpful but is also incredibly resourceful. He was able to find a cab for us when we were stranded on our bikes and made sure we had a great room and food at the end of our long day. This place is the perfect pre or post ferry stop as well, very close.

Very clean and comfortable. No Air Conditioning. The proprietor is very friendly. Continental breakfast included. They prefer you call to make reservations and offer discounts and/or better rooms if you do so.

Beautiful property, close to town. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity to return to Nova Scotia. One of the best hotels I have ever used.

I am very happy I was directed to this motel. It is very welcoming and cozy. The owner was very helpful and caring. The room was very nice and had more character than a hotel room. They offer a Continental breakfast and there are some great seating options. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We have stayed here many times over the last few years and can't recommend it enough! The charming and quirky rooms are spotlessly clean. The sit down breakfast is yummy and satisfying and the alternate continental breakfast is light and refreshing. Beautiful people running a wonderful establishment! We first started coming here when my elderly father took ill and Mathew was the soul of compassion and understanding. You could not ask for a better host!

We made a quick getaway trip to Yarmouth and decided to try Lakelawn based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. This place more than met expectations. We stayed in one of the motel units. Matthew on the front desk was very friendly and helpful and helped with dinner recommendations. The room was spotless and charming. Bed was very comfortable. We opted for the hot breakfast for an additional $10 per person. Not only was it a great value, but it was generous and delicious. This is also a bed and breakfast, so they do not offer a menu for breakfast. Overall a wonderful experience. We will be back.

Owner/manager was friendly and provided good service. The room and bed were comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was lower than I prefer, but everything else was great.

We stay at the Lakelawn often for business. They are accommodating, the place is clean and the breakfast is superb. Oh yes, the rates are very reasonable too. There is no reason to look elsewhere.

1 nights stay. 3 of us. We were all very pleased. Beds comfy. Room large. Fridge. Microwave. Small table which we ate our take out lunch at. Clean.

Internet connection you should try and stay close to the main building to get a better speed. That is my only complaint. This is a nice place to stay that is pet friendly. The bed and breakfast is in the main building which is a nice fresh personal breakfast. Home made jam. Nice place that you will enjoy.

Due to Hurricane Jose and the cancellation of the ferry we extended our stay to 3 nights. Matthew went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are clean and spacious. Lovely breakfast with amazing fruit platter. Definitely recommend this gem.

We enjoyed the place so much we will be back again during our return trip to catch "The Cat" ferry.

My wife and I arrived in Yarmouth from Portland, Maine on the ferry at 8pm and really needed to get settled after seven hours of choppy seas. The receptionist had a couple of more customers to check-in, but he made the waiting helpful with some advice on dining and directions. He was really cheerful and welcoming. The rooms are basic, but clean, comfy, and more than adequate. The breakfast meal was delicious and the receptionist insisted we take more for the road. The Lakelawn turned out to be a terrific way to start the vacation and I would highly recommend it for both the comfort and helpful staff.

Absolutely beautiful! One of the best motels I've stayed at! The owner is so friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable. We slept through the continental breakfast but when we went to check out they had kept everything out so we could grab some breakfast on the go! Would stay here over and over again!

Matthew was a great host. The units are very clean, parking is easy and the grounds are well kept with nice gardens. The dining area is eclectic and cozy. Our family would stay again.

Beautiful place. We stayed on a frenchys run and loved it. The rooms were great and set up very well. The owner was very sweet and set up the rooms so we could have everyone together beside each other. The main office house is stunning definitely worth taking a walk through. I will definitely stay again!

I stayed here when on an overnight Frenchy's trip with my Mom and sisters. It was lovely. Clean and comfortable, a goic breakfast included and gracious hosts.

The place is beautiful and original, the owner is very welcoming, it is a quiet place close to all amenities and tourist site. I loved my stay.

Everything is great besides the internet I don't know if he just has the most basic package but the owner said he had 4 different internet connections all of them however, seem to move at a snail's pace I value my time and that time should not be spent waiting for a regular page to load, watching Netflix takes forever as it took 5 minutes to load 30 seconds of videos, the beds are nice and the place itself isn't bad but if you're advertising free Wi-Fi don't let the Wi-Fi be 20 times slower than my data.

We stayed in the motel portion of the property, and it was absolutely perfect. The cheerful red motel room doors were clearly freshly painted and looked adorable against the white building. Our room was spotlessly clean and well-maintained, with plenty of seating, a desk, and a closet/dressing/sink/vanity area that's separated from the main room by a partial lattice wall, giving a little extra privacy. Toilet/shower in the bathroom have a closing door that give total privacy. Hot water every time from the shower/tap with zero problems, and windows throughout the room/bathroom that open and close easily at your discretion. Assigned parking by numbered spots that correspond with your room number, so no question of pulling your car right to your door for ease of baggage handling. Free & reliable Wi-Fi saved me from a ton of international data charges on my mobile phone. Even had a mini-fridge and a microwave for groceries, drinks and reheating restaurant leftovers. The motel's central location where the main road into downtown Yarmouth and the road into Overton/Cape Forchu meet made it easy to remember how to get "home" every day after touring around. I got an amazing price because I booked early (about 5 weeks in advance), and it's a good thing I did because there was no vacancy left by the time we arrived for our reserved stay in mid-October.

Went here on the last night of our honeymoon because of Lakelawn's proximity to the ferry, and we were very happy with it. From the outside it looks like a motel, but it has much more of a B&B feel thanks to the friendliness and enthusiasm of it's owner. He went out of his way to ensure that we enjoyed our stay, and the rate was very reasonable. We didn't get breakfast, but the dining area was charmingly decorated and smelled delicious. Will be sure to stay there again if we're in Yarmouth.
