The hotel was clean and comfortable. The manager at the hotel was outstanding. Upon check in we had a few minor issues which were resolved immediately. The location offers a continental breakfast which we unfortunately did not experience. Pool was warm and clean perfect for kids as it isn’t too deep. Very close to all amenities. Picked up take out and it was still hot when we got back to the room.

Clean and spacious room. It had everything we needed. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice indoor pool and an outside patio. I didn't like the breakfast hot food too much — eggs were rubbery and no bacon. I did like the waffles. Wait staff was friendly.

We loved our stay. Service was amazing and even though the hotel was fully booked, it was quite quiet during our stay. The best part, for me, about this hotel was that they had gluten-free items for breakfast. You have to ask for the cereal, but I must say, not many hotels have paid close attention to these little details. Thanks for taking care of us! We will be back.

Had fun! Price was super super good! Staff was very friendly, super nice. Pool was clean and well maintained. Rooms were clean and had everything to accommodate you. Breakfast buffet wasn't that amazing, I've seen better buffets but it was free so no complaints and you could rent movies for free from the hotel. Also pet friendly! Close to a few restaurants fast foods and stores! Definitely will return! :)

The people at the desk are very nice and friendly. The room was clean and the frig, microwave, sink and coffee maker was great to have in your room.

Room was well equipped. Beds were very comfy. And the hotel is right nextdoor to a tims/wendys.

Room was ok. Shower was terrible, the water hardly even trickled out. Breakfast was terrible with no selection for anyone who likes to eat healthy or even real food. I couldn’t even find milk and since I am not 5 years old a breakfast of sugary muffins and sugary cereal doesn’t appeal to me. The breakfast room was very small with limited seating. The exercise room was a joke. Only 3 pieces of equipment and 2 of them didn’t even work. They had a weight bench, but no weights and no fans in the room so it felt like a sauna. Was overpriced for that they offer.

Amazing service. Was nice and quiet, pool area was verry clean and fun. Room was clean. We will definitely be back.

Hotel is certainly not high end but the conference room was perfect for what we needed it for.

The parking is excellent the rooms are spacious clean and tidy. The location is ok if you have a car. The breakfast is ok if somewhat basic. I would definitely stay again.

I love this hotel I stay there every month, staff is so friendly I will never stay in another in another hotel in Halifax again they go above and beyond for thier costumers.

Clean room, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was okay-cereal, waffles, toast, eggs, susage, 2 options for fruit juice, tea or coffee. No fruits though. Friendly staff. Close to shopping and food areas. Didn't explore the pool, but heard persons having fun! Very quiet.

The room was immaculate. So much space and comfort. Only disappointment was there was no bathrobe to lounge in.

Room was clean and quiet, pricing was good for out of season. The staff was helpful and friendly, I missed the breakfast so I can't really speak to that. The location is close to amenities and a short drive to the city. I would recommend for travelers passing through and looking for a decently priced comfortable place to spend the night.

We stayed here this weekend… Worst trip to Halifax ever! Arrived at the Coastal Inn — Bayers Lake, and our room wasn't clean. The bed was dirty — Crusty oil on the covers. Hair in the bed. Hair all over the tub and toilet. The microwave and fridge was dirty. Thats fine. The gentlemen at the front desk was apologetic, friendly, and very accommodating. We got another room. Got up Sunday morning, talked about how impressed we were with the location and accessibility. Went shopping. Came back to find my MEDICATION has been STOLEN out of my bag in our room. The bag was still there. My medication was not! The manager was extremely unhelpful. It was 10pm when we got back to the room and got a hold of the manager. She said she didn't know who cleaned or was in the room and was going back to bed… I haven't heard from anyone since! I'm disabled, it's almost Christmas. I was supposed to do my shopping after my doctors appointment yesterday… I live in a small town almost 3 hours away. So this was my time to do it. But I couldn't… because without my medication my body will not co-operate… Now… the pain is unbearable. I can't lay all the way down let alone sleep. And I can't just go get more medication. It doesn't work that way! So I'm out almost $300 for the room,, I didn't finish my shopping, I'm without $600 (or a month) worth of MEDICINE that I actually need.

Mum and I stayed at the Coastal Inn, Halifax, while in the city for a family reunion. The staff were friendly, the room was comfortable and clean, the breakfast nook was nice BUT the non-smoking policy is not adhered to. I saw one sign by the front desk declaring the Inn as non-smoking. The morning of the reunion, mum and I step onto the elevator and we are suddenly engulfed in cigarette smoke that was left behind on an empty elevator. To prevent an asthma attack, I quickly reach for something to prevent more smoke going into my lungs but it was too late. By the time we reached our room I needed my puffer. Running out of time, we went to the drug store. I had to get an emergency puffer costing us $42.00. By the time I got the medication I had no voice because I couldn't get enough air into my lungs. All this for what? For someone to have a cigarette in a hotel with a non-smoking policy. We informed the woman at the front desk what happened but all I heard were excuses, there was no apology. I suggest posting more signs around the hotel reminding guests of the non-smoking policy. This suggestion would be better than another guest or staff member experiencing what I had to go through.

Affordable rates and nice rooms, the pillows on the bed could use an updating in my opinion. Overall I had a good evening and experience there. I really appreciated the ground floor room access, that was highly appreciated coming back to my room late and to be able to have our vehicle right there for easy pack up.

Room was neat and clean but not impressed otherwise. Breakfast was a big disappointment. Poor selection and no hot food either morning we were there. At least there was a Tim Hortons a short walk away.

Very clean, super friendly staff, little to no noise/ air pollution. Having a later cleckout time is nice too. My only slight critisism is the fitness area was a little sparse.

Room was spacious and pool was clean, breakfast was not good at all and very little selection. Shower was horrible and did not drain very well. Complained about the shower when we checked out and the lady at three front desk was very rude. Wouldn't stay here again just for the way I was treated.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay. The room was very spacious (seriously, the bathroom itself was larger than some suites I've stayed at in London, England). It featured a lot of amenities, including use of a Keureg machine, microwave, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, as well as a large, flat screen TV and a work desk and chair. The front desk staff was great, the room was quiet, and the bed was both spacious and comfortable. The only things that keep me from giving this location 5 stats are an issue with a bedside plug that turned off when the main light was switched, making it useless for anything you would plug in at the bedside (like charging one's phone), and, the second night of our stay, the bathroom stank like it had been cleaned with stale mo p water, leading to a mildew like smell that was very off putting.

Rooms were great and spacious. Has an indoor swimming pool and a fitness center. TV is large and modern. You could rent movies from the reception and play it in your room. Location is remote. I didn't find many things around the area. There was only a Tim Horton and Wendy's. The morning breakfast was free but the dining area is quite small.

We stayed at the Coastal Inn Halifax for a weekend family getaway. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The family rooms are perfect when traveling with kids because there's a pull out sofa that provides lots of space to play when closed as well as a large bathroom, microwave, fridge, Keurig coffee maker (coffee provided) and a small kitchen sink. It has a separate room with a king sized bed with a sliding glass door and curtains for privacy. Both the main room and bedroom have flat screen TVs with DVD players which is a wonderful feature. The pool is great, never too busy, just the right temperature and very clean and the pool towels were always well-stocked. The breakfast on weekends is only a continental breakfast as advertised which was fine but it would be great if hot breakfast items were offered all week instead of only on weekdays. Lots of free parking on site is always great and being close to shopping in Bayer's Lake is convenient. Overall, it's a great place to stay and what a great value for the price! This is a hotel that really goes above and beyond to create a great customer experience.

Located on the edge of Bayers Lake shopping district. Close to highway to go into downtown Halifax or to make your way to the Airport or to hop on the highway to Yarmouth to take the ferry to Portland. Free continental breakfast and DVD movies. Business center with high speed Internet. Very clean, unheated swimming pool.

The garbages were not emptued (outside) there were many kids running around all hours of the night. The pool floor was slippery. The service was good. They were all nice.

Front desk staff was great! We like staying at the Coastal Inn and will do so again.

Clean, no non-sense, well kept facility. A bit far from downtown.
