Served it's purpose as a place to sleep. Room was clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was a little slim, but that might have been due to the high volume of people ahead of me. Overall, it serves it's purpose as a cheaper alternative to staying in Halifax.

Clean and comfortable room! Internet is very fast and the TV is large and the cable works well. The bed is very comfortable and the AC is quiet and works very well. The continental breakfast is decent. Pretty good value for the very affordable price.

We enjoyed our stay with our friends at the Inn again, as usual they were kind, friendly and very helpful. To stay there is always a pleasant experience, much the same as coming home. All the staff are so ready to answer our questions no matter if it is the manager or one of the maids, all are so polite and ready to help, my wife and I recommend this INN as we will return again next year!

Absolutely disgusting. We went to see our room and the smell was unbearable in the hallways. We walked right back out and cancelled our 2 night stay. We had booked through Expedia and they got us our money back. I am assuming they must have had some flooding or something and the clean up wasn't going well. They should have been warning people.

Would not recommend! The second floor looks like it has recently had a large flood. The whole floor reeked of mildew and marijuana. Everything in the room looks like it is original from the seventies including the work arm chairs, kitchenette and all the fixtures. For a bit more money you can stay at a much nicer hotel. We didn't end up staying.

The room was spacious but the breakfast was not that great.

There was a lot of confusion at the desk. The website said one thing the receptionist said another. She was also quite grouchy while we asked questions about the sign in.

This is my second time staying at The Coastal Inn and I love it. The rooms are nice and the staff are friendly and accommodating!

Beware — this is locataed in a sketchy area. Its so sketchy that the haveat least 3 patrol cars that I could see on the road at night. If you can bypass that then a pro is that youre pretty much close to everything. Beware — not wheelchair accesible. While they do have a ramp. You need to open the door yourself there is no auatomatic button to open the door. NOT ONLY THAT BUT they only have one disability spot which is very odd. The bathroom isnt big enough to fit your whelchair if youre using one. Pro is they do have a transfer chair as well as well as a bar to help you out of the shower. The toilet seat is higher for those he require that. stay away if you are allergic to dust. The Inn smells like an old bar mixed with deodorizers. I had to go outside a few because I couldn't breathe. You get used to it after awhile but it gets bad at night. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT NIGHT — the front desk lady is rude and not very helpful. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt but as I was there for 2 days her attitude never changed. EAT BREAKFAST AT YOUR OWN RISK — There is no hot breakfast you have a selection of bread, 3 types of cereal (raisin bran looks stale) poorly made muffins and canned fruits in a bowl. For drinks its the usual coffee, tea and juice. After eating it I felt sick and so did some other guess. The rooms are decent but the kitchenette is outdated and the fan for it doesn't work.

The room itself was pretty large, which I liked, and it had a bigger TV than more expensive places. Nothing to complain about really, it was just average over all. Nothing wrong with the place, just nothing special either.

This place is dated and reeks of mould and dirt. Had a room pre-arranged by another party. Stayed the night and ended up with a respiratory infection. Wouldn't advise anyone with a compromised immune system to stay here…

Staff seam nice but the rooms are small dated and smelly, the toilet leaks the water in the tap was brown for the first 30 seconds. The worse part was the smell. It was like an old bar that had been smoked in. Will not stay again. Good if you dont have alot of money.

This is not a fancy hotel but it is full of quality. Our room had a microwave, minifridge, stove and stovetop. I would highly suggest this hotel unless you are looking for a fancy hotel. Front desk staff was awesome.

Very nice place to stay. VERY clean staff are so nice and friendly and its not to far from downtown Halifax or shopping centres would definitely recommend staying here.

My room is roomy and has a kitchenette, so you can make whatever meals you need. Breakfast is continental — cereals, breads/bagels/English muffins, fruit salad, tea/coffee/juice. No protein though. There is a small gym but no pool.

Very good location. Big room. Beds are new amd comfy. We really enjoyed two night stay here.

Great overnight stay. Loved the kitchenette in the room. The kitchenette gave the room a home-like feeling. The staff were very helpful. I only have good things to say about our stay. Soft towels, nice shower, comfy bed. Would recommend for overnight guests.

Easy check in, room was spacious and had no smell of smoke. Comfy bed. Kitchenette was nice to have. AC was very effective. Location of the establishment pretty good. Lots of parking, nice staff, reasonable price. Breakfast was a slightly nicer than standard continental. Really can't complain — — overall great!

The Coastal Inn was a pleasant surprise. It is an older hotel that does feel a bit dated, but it is so well maintained that it just exudes rustic charm. It is the best bang for your buck when it comes to economy accommodations in the area if you are looking for something cheap and comfortable that isn't a "flea bag". The rooms are very clean and comfortable and mine had a little kitchenette which was nice to have! The staff were incredibly nice, professional, and accommodating. The location was surprisingly quiet in the evening. It's the perfect place to be if you're on business and just need to lay your head down for the night. It's my new go-to spot when I have to overnight in the city. It is a busy hotel due to it being good value for the money. The numerous positive reviews speak volumes.
