Review of Coast Kamloops Hotel & Conference Centre 3*

We went to the Coast Hotel for a Christmas party this past weekend. We were directed to a banquet room on the third floor which was very nice. It was set up nicely and the chandeliers were beautiful and had nice clean bathrooms. It was nice to have an outdoor balcony off of the room for anyone who smoked. However the food was HORRIBLE! We had the buffet. Which consisted of salads, roasted veg, rice, pasta, salmon, and a carving station of beef. The Caesar salad was limp and mushy. The dressing had no flavour, the pickled items where either hard (beets) or rubberie (the pickles where flimsy, and tasted horrible) and the pickled beans hadn’t had their stems taken off so they wher sharp. The ravioli was suppose to have butternut squash in it but there was nothing in the middles that resembled butternut squash. The mixed roasted veg were good as long as you didn’t eat the zucchini which was mushy. The roasted potatoes where mushy but had nice flavour. The roast and salmon where actually good. The desserts were just as bad. The lemon curd was really strong, most of the other desserts had parts that were good but as a total dessert where bad. The bartender was awesome. She was really nice. One of the servers (she had two buns on her head) was unpleasant. She gave one of our guests (who had a baby) the most peeved off look when the Mom asked if she could get a high chair that had the proper tray (she had originally brought her a high chair with a different brands tray which didn’t fit). The server was flat our irritated and then gave her the dirtiest look when she said thank you for bringing her the new high chair. Over all the space was nice. The hotel has a very neat center pool court area which was nice. But the food and some of the staff where not worth the money at all. I would never recommend this hotel for an event that requires eating the hotels food. But if a space is needed for just the space I would def recommend it.
