Blitz Beach House is a bit of paradise on the Sunshine Coast! Paula and Marius were such wonderful and gracious hosts. They met us with a warm welcome along with their dog, Max and cat Ember. The cottage is custom built and cozy. It has everything you might need and more! Games to play, books to read; The kitchen was even stocked with spices and marinades, pastas, teas and coffee. The beach house sits right on the beach, afforded spectacular views of the Straits of Georgia. It was fun to do dishes while keeping a lookout for a transient orca or two. We spotted three orca during our stay. Paula provided us with local knowledge on trails and in the cottage there is a great binder full of useful information for touring. Marius is an accomplished sculptor as well as musician. We had the pleasure of listening to him play the guitar and sing at a local dining spot in Lund. They both made us feel so welcome and introduced us to some of their friends and neighbors. The five days we spent at the Blitz Beach House went by so fast. There are trails to hike; The Sunshine Coast Trail is one in particular. We also took a day yacht charter on Desolation Sound, recommended by Paula: Beyond the Road Charters. Captain Ted and First Mate Joanie provided us with a great cruise of Desolation Sound as well as a delicious lunch of fresh fish and fruits and greens from their garden. It was hard to leave this bit of paradise. We hope to return some day.
