I love the Granville Island Market. I'm from Calgary and so it is not common to see something like this. I love seeing everything out on display, in piles, the view of the water! I have no problem with what the market provides and sells, nor the prices, but one thing I DO have a problem with, and I would like for someone to contact me about — is the habit of some vendors taking your debit/credit card and tapping it on the payment terminal for you. I don't know about you, but in Calgary, you are not allowed to do that for a customer. In my most recent experience, my friends talked about buying fruit from a vendor, and they gruffly took their card and tapped it for them. When I was buying a pot pie at A La Mode, the vendor did not tell me how much I was paying — but she lifted the terminal, so I reached for it with my card in hand to insert and pay, but she retracted the terminal, took my card, and tapped for me. To me, this is what you call fraud. And if it's not fraud, it's still not right, and I'm not sure why this is allowed.

This is a very crowded place during weekends and then that a special events. By the time I visit the public market it is jam-packed we had to walk in a line because there are so many people in front of us as well as so many people following us. There is really no time to stop and shop because it's mostly chop chop chop. You always find many places to eat. That are some great articles as well as many different Outlets with flavors from all over the world. We particularly liked the soup and Stock Shop. They have a great soup made with salmon. And they have many Soups made with roasted bones as well. If you are looking to relax near the Waterfront well this is not the place, if you're trying to do some taste shopping or going for people watch then this is definitely the place to be.

Great place to go bite or shopping etc. There was nice music outside and warm malls to shopping. And I highly recommended to visit GO FISH, which sell fish and chips! I love this place. It has some festival on specific days! U can check online.

A high concentration of some of the finest foods in the city. If you know Chelsea Market in Mid Manhattan, then you'll regconize the Granville Market is like Chelsea split up into a collection of it's components, each pursuing the common purpose of serving and being the very best for it's customers. Most worthy of mention is the meat shop that sells the choicest of organic stakes at reasonable prices. It is my favorite meat shop, as Granville Island an Chelsea are both my favorite haunts.

While well known for its artists and craftsman options, this place is a summer's delight in the water play area. There is a place for younger kids and toddlers and a fun water slide and many water play activities like a tall water spout, hoses with small pipes to spray friends and many small water features where children have a blast splashing about and running around. The hardest part is getting the kids out of there! And this is free. This was a treat to remember as the last week of summer vacation. The public market offers farmers market style fresh food and hand made eats and crafts. There are tons of fresh made buns, chocolates, cheese and pastries and of course fruits and veggies. This week we also enjoyed the open air musicians and the street fair stalls with unique handmade gift items.

Something for everyone! Although the centrally located Granville Island is best known for its amazing Public Market, it is much more than that. Although its really a Peninsula (i. E. Attached to the nearby land), it also houses a "floating community" of homes, a huge Marina, many arts venues (including Vancouver's only professional improvisational theatre company) and art galleries. It also hosts several "performing festivals". The farmers' market has high quality, fresh produce and there are also many craft vendors… as well as many places to have a "Yummy" meal or snack. The whole island is also fun to explore. It is well worth a visit which will become part of one's fond memories! I hope that this Review has been helpful.

Go to the brewery (if you like beer), very tasty, different beers sell in shots. You can get there inexpensively river tram.

What a wonderful place, with old buildings transformed into spaces for craftsmen and so many interesting venues.
Of all the great places on this picturesque island which is so close to the centre of wonderful Vancouver, the market is the best! I have never seen more beautifully arranged food, patisserie and fresh fruit and vegetable stalls anywhere. It’s like walking through a work of art, and the makers market and eating areas are also superb.
If you’re lucky enough to visit Melbourne’s brother from another mother, make sure you hop on the little ferry and visit this fabulous place.

Great place to spend a day! Eat well, shop local and enjoy one of the most beautiful spots in the city.

This place used to be a factory area, and in order to improve the environment, the city of Vancouver created such a casual shopping space for local residents, with agricultural products, food, and many artists and entertainers camping here, selling ideas and crafts that are worth a visit, that is, things are not cheap. Parking is also charged, while going to the parking space is quite tight. There are many private yachts from here to go to the sea to play fishing crabs, usually moored here.

Good service and good food. Great views and ample seating. The water taxi was enjoyable. You can also rent kayaks and paddle bikes.

Wonderful place to go. I recommend to go by bus or public transportation on weekends, it is always crowed. And also, it is good to walk around first before having lunch, then you can decide where to eat, they have wide diversity for food. You will find a nice market with fruits and different meat, also bakery products.

I love to walk here from Broadway-city hall when I have nothing else to do on a Sunday morning. Great food court, fresh produce and a nice boardwalk to laze about or stroll around. Catch a water taxi straight into downtown for a couple of dollars and keep the day rolling. There is so much art and culture on Granville Island, five years later and I have yet to tire of the place.

Around a lot of literary small fresh shop, suitable for shopping photos, some small shops of handicrafts are very distinctive. But what's inside public is more expensive than anywhere else, and individuals don't recommend buying it here.

I really enjoyed my visit here. The whole island is pretty great. There is variety of selections to choose from at the market from fresh produce and dairy to candies and juices. They also sell other merchandise besides edibles like paintings and flowers. It a good place for a fun outing and families will enjoy it.

This place must been seen to be appreciated. A year round massive farmers market, artisan meats, pastas and desserts. You'll also find artist exhibits, crafts kiosks, fine dining and casual dining. Something for everyone can be found here. Plan to spend a few hours to a full day exploring the many shops and services to be found.

I love this place! So alive and fun. Lots of things to see, do and buy. I loved that they have areas where musicians are allowed to set up and perform to everyone at the park. It's really a nice market. To get there, you can drive if you're near the other side of the island, otherwise they have a ferry that takes you to the island. Super fun!

Was here for my last day in Vancouver. Wanted to eat somewhere local and had a few options before my evening flights. This place was beautiful. If you're from the states, its like a farmers market. Has one side where you can purchase groceries like fruits and dairy products, as well your pastries. While the other side has takeaway food options. As for options there are all sorts of cuisine offered. Stay away from the Chinese one, its like Panda express but less flavors. The Indian food there was amazing, filling, and affordable. There are a lot of healthy options out there too. Flowers are beautiful there and there is a coffee/tea shop that you must try, amazing masala tea. Lastly next to that shop is a pastries shop their desserts are amazing! Nice place to take the family and get a quick bite. Not crazy busy on a Monday but can't imagine what the weekends are like.

I'm from out of town and have been here a few times and it never disappoints. Trendy, organic, in a legendary location under the Granville bridge and on the water. The market is full of great local vendors and keeps on getting more polished. It certainly helps to have the brewery and theatre there too. A must see on your first trip to Vancouver or any trip thereafter.

I love Granville Island, so much to do here! I mostly come here to try out the many different restaurants here as they usually have the best seafood. Some of the Jazz festival concerts last summer were also held here. Parking is fairly easy to find and isn't too costly. This place has a great vibe!

My friend and I visited for the first time and it was enjoyable. The Public Market itself is much smaller than anticipated, but the fish, seafood, produce looked amazing. There are the most delicious looking bakery items and great restaurants within the market, as well as random independently owned shops lining the various streets. We ate at the little Mexican Restaurant within the market and were unimpressed. I ordered the taco salad without the shell, my friend ordered fajitas and they were the exact same thing. Very weird. Cool way to spend a Vancouver afternoon!

Place to go ready-to-eat, has two wings, the first is exclusive of food and the other is a market, without a doubt, a must-stop in Vancouver.

This is a very suitable place for slow swimming in the Vancouver area. There are food in different countries in the bazaar, the price is reasonable. Visitors can eat on the side of the square while appreciating the performances of artists and watching the activities and views of the stream. Remember to thank the performers for their appreciation. The square has a flock of gull birds. The island also has a variety of personal studios, Chen sales of various works of art. The large warehouse of ready-mixed cement field is also a kind of public art. Plus the surrounding beauty of the meandering trails along Fuk Creek, where you can enjoy half a day's leisure.

Kid. In. A. Candy. Shop. This was me in the public market. It's definitely my candy shop. I could spend HOURS there, and eat my body weight in food with ease. Just plan on spending an hour inside the market, exploring the vendors, sampling and purchasing some delicious items. I highly recommend this as a meal spot in Vancouver. Bonus — All the vendors were very friendly!

Such a fun place to spend a day when you're in Vancouver! Get there early to have an easier time parking. We got there mid-day and still found a spot eventually. Loads of fun and artistic shops, restaurants and a huge indoor market that's part farmer's market and part food court. Take your food out the back and eat looking at the river. There's an adorable ferry that leaves from here too.

A perfect place to spend your free day or weekend, even if it rains we love to go and wander around their stalls and shops and take a clan showder warm!

Oh how I love this place! So much to see and discover! This was my first time here (I'm a tourist), so of course I loved it. But no really, not only that but the people are friendly and you learn so much from talking to the vendors. Everyone was really nice. Beware, the warm fuzzy feelings make you want to impulse buy. Thanks for the shelter and good company on that rainy day!

A covered market that offers multiple foodstuffs from different countries. You can also eat there very well even if the chairs are taken from Assau. Difficult to advise a stall rather than another so everything is appetizing! To see and taste especially.

Delicious but not cheap food. It was difficult to get a table there. The places were very coveted. The beer tasted and the selection on the menu card was good. The ambiance in the house was very peculiar (you must have seen it yourself) and the atmosphere in the outdoor area had the tendency rather to the chic-Mick, which was destroyed by volume of the surroundings extremely…

It is a nice place to meet and spend the afternoon visiting shops. There are all kinds of shops for every member of the family. In the food market, you can find the smoked salmon covered in Maple that is a traditional food of Canada, you can buy it by the 100 grams or more just to try it out. In addition there are many choices of pastry and coffee for a snack.

Located to the west of Vancouver, there are many tourists. The market has market dry and wet cargo areas, offering a variety of fruits, frozen meat, cheese and seafood, as well as clothing stores, stationery shops, cafes and toy shops, where you can sample Granville island and buy fresh oysters, green mouth and fine American beef and Abbott beef, which are great attractions.

The best place for ingredients! Especially good place, to buy raw materials the most recommended place! Not one of them! Fruit and vegetables are particularly fresh, bacon bacon is very good! Inside there is a butcher's shop, the meat has eaten his home can obviously feel and other completely different! Vancouver for the time being, I think his beef is the best, Kobe beef includes veal, high grade meat, their home can buy! If you are a fan of Western food ingredients, you must visit this place. The ingredients here allow you to create gourmet wonders at the most reasonable price, and there is not only a place for travelers to visit, and many locals come by car exclusively every week to buy ingredients. The simplest approach can also be to eat the qualitative difference. Spice shops can buy the vast majority of fresh or dried western spices, including fresh truffles, vanilla pods, thyme rosemary and so on. Oh, that's right! There are fish butcher's salmon small dried fish, spotted shrimp and caviar!

One of the most emblematic places for me in Vancouver certainly was Granville all the shops the brewery, the designer market but especially the food market. So many exotic things to try and so many interesting people. You want to try everything and talk to everyone. It's a wonderful place. Visit Granville Island or move to downtown from the ferry or bus. Just don't miss it. Don't forget to take your camera and take a lot of pictures.

Very nice market with great promenade, invites you to linger. You get a lot of specialties here. Even original German sausages:-)

The best food market I have ever visited. Everything looks of excellent quality and you find fruits and food for any taste and pocket.
I recommend that you go before lunch because there are many options and it will take time to decide.
They close at 6pm so they should take into account if they want to dine here, it is unlikely, they will have to go to one of the island's open restaurants.

Vancouver's top 3 must see for visitors. As a resident, I moved within walking distance and come regularly. Funky, artsy, crafty, local and fresh. Great place to grab some lunch, look at the scenery, watch some live performances, and feed some birds. See you around. Don't be shy to say hi!

One of Vancouver's highlights. There is nothing here that does not exist. Everything from small local shops. The city is careful not to settle any chains. Best connect with a free walking tour.

Excellent to get to know a little of all the local products. You have to go hungry and early because they close at 6pm and if you're late you don't get to visit it all. Good to go for breakfast.

This is a scenic, but packed tourist stop. It's a must-do, but keep in mind what that means: everyone that comes to Vancouver stops here. So, yeah, it's packed with tourists with basic tourist needs: beer, fried food, and knickknacks. That said, it's a super nice location with great views of the city and good boat access (don't drive here). Some of the food stands are nice, and it's a good place to sit outside and have a beer, but I'd eat elsewhere.

A delight! I love a good market, and this one was amazing. So much variety and so much of it fresh. I was in heaven. The atmosphere was buzzing too, which is always nice. When in Vancouver… do yourself a favour!

Many years ago I came here for the first time, although they have changed some things, the truth is that it remains an excellent place to spend a good time strolling around and tasting the delights on offer. Preferable to arrive by acuataxi. There is not much parking.

Nice place to walk in the warm day take some pictures to see some sights. The kind of place that you would want to spend the day because there is some Nick knack Kitty things to Granville Island. I like it because I can walk see the water, the fish and chips to go is awesome. Fresh seafood, vegetables, the market is pretty good the vegetables hit-and-miss depending on the farmer Seafood is a must good.

Must visit location for any food lover in Vancouver. There are other activities available, but the main attraction is the food; hot, cold, prepared, raw, vegetarian, carnivore, everything. Sake, beer, wine, gin, vodka, juices, yea, coffee, drinks of all kinds. Desserts galore and other tasty treats. There are plenty of places to sit and eat food you purchased in the market, as well as the restaurants/cafes. There's, also, a park (David Lam) a $3 water taxi ride away if you wish to take your treasures and enjoy them in a picnic setting.

My family was wanting to go here but didn't have directions. Luckily we happened to turn down the right road and as we pulled in you could tell it was a cool place. The water park/slide was so much fun for my daughter. The stores and market were amazing. This is a great location for people of all ages.

There is a huge huge huge selection of fresh seafood, meats, and produce. There are also a ton of specialty shops for spices, pastas, desserts, breads, etc. It is definitely worth checking out. The only downfall is that it is very busy so it's hard to relax and browse the great selections! I feel pressured to make a quick decision and go because so many others are waiting! If you do head there… I am a huge fan of maison cote spices… I think they are only there on the weekend. But search them out! The spice blends are amazing!

Market very full with a great variety of stalls and shops. Seafood, meats, desserts… similar to the San Miguel Market of Madrid here you have the possibility to buy take-out or consume. Prices similar to those of the city.

Excellent place to go to eat as a family. Good view. You can buy fruits, vegetables, and various fresh things. The excellent ice-cream.

Really fun place to hang out with friends and family. Lots of different places to get premium groceries and they have a really nice food court. If you come here take a look at Dragonspace, it's a little eccentric shop with fantasy paraphernalia galore and lots of interesting jewellery. Also features lots of Celtic product as well. Is definitely a must see if you like that sort of thing.

Granville Island is a very funky area of Vancouver which has eateries, shops, entertainment, and a stunning view of the water. It is crowded and better for the visitor to access the area by cab. Parking is mostly non-existent. Better if they did not allow cars. Great place to people watch, soak in the Vitamin D and enjoy the stunning views of the city. Some of the shops are unique with artistry items like silk weave, homemade chocolates, homemade donuts and handmade soaps. Many of the shops are T-shirt shops and the usual touristy junk. Granville Island is best viewed on a crisp cool day without precipitation. We spent several hours there and I think that was enough as there are so many other things to do and see in Vancouver.

This wonderful market is reminiscent of Europe. Fresh, innovative foods, from sweet to savory and everything in the middle. My children were as sated as my husband and I were, each of us with something unique. Granville Island is a don't-miss spot if you're visiting the Vancouver area. Getting there is half the fun — we walked across the bridges, and it made for lovely vistas of the sea and sky.

Despite it's odd road layout the market is a fantastic place to spend the day, a few hours or burn through 20 minutes. The views from the market and sitting outside/patio restaurants is a must if you have the time and the money to spare. The market is also a great place to find "vintage veggies" and fruits (sometimes meat too! ) ; amazing way to save a few dollars. The local FRESH fruit and veggie markets tend to keep dollar bags of nearly bad produce below the register; this is great of you have plans to use it the same day or freeze it!

This place is truly a mecca and we all know it! The finest, freshest meats, cheeses, pastas, salads, fruit and veggies all under one roof. Oyama's meats is truly the best in the city and the staff at Benton's cheeses are great, it's great to be able to taste what kind of cheese before you buy it, especially if you want to be a little bit more adventurous. Grab some of these fine treats and you've got yourself a beautiful spread for a picnic on a nice sunny day. My biggest gripes: the lack of quality food and variety in the food court. When it's busy, it's truly a nightmare to navigate.

We were there attending a wedding at the Dockside restaurant inside the Granville Island Hotel. The staff from the hotel and restaurant were all amazing. Right from upon arrival with the friendly valet service to leaving the front door. Will definitely return again for another visit.

A bit worn around the edges, does not reflect the price. Missing a physical center and nothing inspirational in its essence. Easy to get lost wandering the narrow corridors and confusing stairs.

Great location. Did not stay at hotel but Dockside restaurant has great location and always has room for my Dragonboat team on busy weekends. We sat on the patio and had a nice lunch. Very good service. Value is so so but comparable to all restaurants on Granville Island. Food quality is good.

The shower was really cool but at the end of the day it's just a hotel room. Bed was big and comfy :) Location was ideal, lots to do in the area.

Granville Island Market has a great atmosphere and offers some interesting food choices. However, some caveats… the food court area on the market's west side mostly offers the same warmed-over fast food found at any mall. Instead check out the Stock Market at the eastern side of the market for homemade soups that change daily. Next to it is L' Epicerie, which offers a delicious variety of fresh hot and cold items. Other highlights are Longliner Seafoods for terrific fresh and smoked fish, Terra Breads, and JJ Bean coffee. Note that produce prices are high — check out produce markets on West Broadway (west of Macdonald) and on Commercial Drive for excellent fruit and vegetables at more reasonable prices.

This place is awesome! Love the vibe, the products, the artistry, the uniqueness of it all. Wish we'd more than an hour here. Next time we will make this our first stop rather than the last stop, and coincide it with a meal.

Great place for local produce and artisan foodstuffs. Parking at Granville Island is free in many areas, but fills up fast on fair weather days. Watch out for parking signs as time restrictions vary throughout. If using paid parking, note there is an option to pay $14 for 4 hours instead of $15 for a full day.

I've been here at lot and I never get sick of it. The unique vendors, huge selection and vibrant atmosphere make it worth it to come, even if you're a local or a tourist. Spend some time here and soak it up.

A must do for any tourist or local resident. Filled with organic, local products from produce, carvings, photography and soap! Has a really good food court with local restaurants and a great spot outside to watch the boats pass by listen to buskers. Beware of the pigeons!

Granville Island Public Market is a must go location for anyone visiting the city of Vancouver. Located right below the famous Granville bridge, Granville island is home to artists, merchants, entertainers and craftsmen alike. In the market you will find various food vendors and market stalls selling anything from seafood to handmade chocolate. The market place is a gathering for people of all ages for a good day of shopping, entertainment and good food. On Saturdays and Sundays (when the weather is good), the island is packed with both visitors looking for authentic western market scene and locals doing their weekly grocery shopping. Once you've checked all the things you need to do on your checklist. Either sit down for a coffee in front of a great view overlooking Vancouver Downtown, step outside and be entertained by street performers or feed the pigeons/seagulls your left over croissant while kids run about trying to catch a bird. For a most artistic experience, Granville island is also home to Emily Carr College and the Vancouver Theater Sports Club. Visitors can wonder the streets visiting the various unique and innovative stores of the island or sit down to a great improvised show by the Vancouver Theater Sports Club. After all that, you can sit down for a nice cold beer at the Granville island brewery right next door. Granville island is one stop you will NOT want to miss.

This is just a wonderful place to spend a few hours — even an entire day. The market is Vancouver's permanent 7 days a week "farmer's" market. It closes for Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Except that for 4, 11, 18, & 26 January 2016 for maintenance. The market is the main attraction. You will end up buying stuff here — so bring your shopping bag. If you are an artist you will already be familiar with Opus but even if art is not your thing this well stocked artists' supply is always worth a visit. If you come with kids you have to head to the Kids Market. This is basically alarmed indoors kids' play ground. Adults can browse in the many interesting shops. If you are hungry, there are lots of options, from casual to sit down meals. There is a long list of eateries here. If you don't feel like walking after that lunch, hang around and enjoy the buskers and street performers. They are always entertaining. If boating is your thing, the Maritime Market is well stocked with boating supplies, weather gear, and and fishing gears. If you drive, plan your visit early to make it easy on yourself with the chore of parking. If you are coming across False Creek from Downtown, get a different perspective by hopping on one of the Aquabuses.

This is a cool place to visit and spend a nice afternoon. It has many unique shops that sells crafts and arts. Come hungry because it has chain restaurants, local restaurants and also a food market, you'll sure find something you like. There's free parking around the entire island, but it is really busy on the weekends. When we don't want to crawl the streets to try to find a parking spot, we'll park along the side streets up the hill and walk down.

I asked them if they had a vacant room available, and they didn't. So I sat in their lobby and immediately called a taxi and another hotel while staying inside from the cold. The muslim guy starts yelling at me because "I can't stay there". He should have clearly known I wasn't loitering. I was looking for an alternate solution and the taxi was even on their way. Beyond rude. Needless to say, I stood my ground and stayed inside until the taxi showed up. I didn't let him push me around, and his threat to call the police didn't bother me, because I knew I was doing nothing wrong.

Beautiful place to get lost at for a day. Plenty of things to look at and things to do.

Love walking around here and just popping into the shops. Some really good food and shows here also. The Public Market is also really great and has awesome selection. I highly recommend here to locals and tourists alike.

The market here is great! A really fun thing to do in Vancouver for the day! Many of the shops are covered, so it could be enjoyed on a rainy day — though its even better in the sun!

What is not love here? Such a lovely place!

We enjoyed walking over the bridge to Granville Island, enjoying the Public Market, shops, walking trails, wild blackberries, park, etc. So lovely! (It's also where Greenpeace first set sail, which I discovered by reading a plaque there. )

What a cool little place for tourists. If you know about the island's history then you'll get a lot more out of the visit. Loved the farmers market and all the shops. It's difficult to get in to and out of so unless you're a local, take a cab or get there REALLY early otherwise you simply won't find parking. It fills up fast and when we left it took 35 min just to get through the traffic to leave. The buskers are a lot of fun to watch so make sure you have time to catch them and of course try lots of food from the vendors there. We will be back if we're in the area again!

Shops, market, food, boats, and a great atmosphere. Really fun. Take a day and walk around the shops. So much artistic talent around.

A must-visit destination for tourists. The island is a great place to browse around. Beautiful market with incredible products. Good places to eat as well. The little ferry boat ride is kinda cool, too.

Love it made up of old industrial building the island has many unique shops, restaurants and parks with great fresh food as well in the market and around the "island" no longer a island sadly.

A very touristy place with a strange fake feeling about it, but come anyway for the lovely market and catch a comedy show while on the "island". And that's probably it. It's a shame it's so tedious to access after 9pm from downtown, and the shops close and the public transport ends far too early to combine shopping with dinner and some improv. I suppose that's ok because the shops are pretty pricey anyway.

Liars. Called and asked if they had two beds for me and a friend and pet friendly to include my service dog. Yes they told us. We were exhausted trying to find the place. Finally after searching for 45 minutes we arrived. As we were registering the desk clerks argued. First telling me they had a room, and then, no, only one room available for the dog, and just one bed. Clearly they had the room available we reserved but it was "against policy for the dog to be in the room". Turns out the rooms floors are all ice cold tile. Why in the world would you be afraid of having a dog in there? So we had to rent two rooms as I had driven past my energy threshold and had to rest. Do not go to this place with its tiny rooms, and lying, arguing staff.

Oh my god. It was so beautiful! My hubby and I got married at the Granville Island Brewery and got a room here. I requested a scenic room and we got just that, a beautiful view of the water through a huge wall made of windows. We woke up the next morning with the sunrise and birds, then headed to the market to walk around. The staff and service was absolutely wonderful, one of the nicest hotels I have personally stayed at. Overall great price for the stay and experience.

Definitely worth the afternoon to appreciate the fresh food, the small theatres, the beer brewery and cute shops. The island is right under the bridge, which gives it a really cozy feel. Tbh, everything felt cozy here. We grabbed a coffee and sat by the water, walked through the massive food court for like two hours and had a beer at a small pub. Really loved it. Can't think of any negatives, probably cause they're hidden under the charm this place gives off.

I wasn't a guess here. I actually work on the island. Near by my keys were locked in my vehicle an unfortunate accident from my dog hitting the button in excitement. I was waiting for help and it was taking awhile. I'm already a homeless veteran working for low wages on the island. It was OK with the prior staff for me to wait. They saw and listen to my struggle. While waiting for a tow truck the front desk clerk informed me they have to lock the doors. I tried to explain but he wouldn't listen. I'm out on the streets at 01:36 am while it is pouring rain. It's cold and I am shivering in minutes. I don't care what they charge some common decency could go a long way.

We make the usual trek out from Langley and here are the usual places to hit up — Siegel's Bagels — Granville Island Brewing — Terra Breads — Stuarts Bakery — Dragonspace If you don't mind a short walk along false creek park at the Impark lot just off of Lameys Mill Road it'll save you a headache on the island on a busy weekend and parking here is a cheap $1 per hour.

Big market in Vancouver, there are to discover here new. Many National and international products.

In any case, a water taxi! Google has guided us with Bus 010 and you have to run a long piece, and missed the beautiful views of the water.

Went there for my company's x-mas meeting. Food was decent for a party entrees. Servers were really friendly to I've of my colleague's wife.

My husband and I run our own Very busy business, so vacationing is few and far between, but what we do like is to escape locally on a weekend here and there. Granville Island Hotel has, over the last couple of years, become our favorite location to do this. We recently stayed in 1 of the 2 Penthouse Suites the Granville Island Hotel has to offer, and we both agree this is the most incredible room we have stayed in, in the downtown area. With sky high ceilings, gorgeous cabinetry in the large full service stainless appliances/kitchen, grand Gas Fireplace, floor to ceiling windows over the water, plush royalty style curtains, massive wrap around deck. And don't even get me started on the monsterous jet tub planted romantically in the masterbedroom! Amazing! Truly a luxurious treat! All of the staff are impeccable, welcoming and extremely helpful. Room service breakfast is a must, gorgeous presentation, large servings and FAST! This suite is an excellent choice for Anniversary, honeymoon, elaborate gift giving or any event in your life you want to make a memorable stay. We are often out and about when we take our weekends away, but here, we barely left the room! Because of the fireplace, this is a magnificent winter getaway as well. Love This place.

For me, the hotel location is compelling. I enjoy being a bit away from the City Center limelight. Not only lower cost, but being near the Granville Island Public Market and amenities is a draw for me. I first stayed here in the 1980's and it is getting a bit long in the tooth, but is well managed, though the rooms are smaller than many would prefer and the views are limited. The restaurant still maintains high standards in cusine and service. A bit of a run in with the front office accountant, convinced me that she needed better training in "front desk manner, " but on balance the hotel is still my little secret.

Beautiful market, especially if you are from Europe and quality food, fruits and vegetables, etc want to buy.

Overall I think the Granville Island provides decent value for your dollar. Room: Reasonably nice, somewhat dated decor. Clean. Bed was very comfortable, linens were soft. Slept well. Windows are single paned, so if you face the street you will definitely hear everything. Highlight was the toiletries offered in the bathroom — — Bath and Bodyworks. Staff: Overall friendly and helpful. We stayed over New Year's Eve, but the staff couldn't tell us what the four course dinner would be. A poorly announced closure of the hotel's restaurant and lounge were dealt with reasonably well, however the note that was left in the room the day before did not indicate that room service would also be unavailable. Room service: Breakfast order service is available in addition to normal room service. We left our order on our door handle as indicated, along with a time checked. We had to call the following morning after breakfast was over 45 minutes late — — we eventually received our excellent breakfast about an hour and 15 minutes after we had requested it. Lounge: Great service, very good food. Microbrewery in house had 8 beers to choose from. Great view of the water. Wireless internet is free throughout the hotel.
