This hostel is extremely overpriced and the owners seem to be simply taking advantage of the fact that they own the only hostel in Fernie. I would recommend staying somewhere else especially for the season because it is definitely not worth it to waste money in this establishment.

6/5 I performed here in the Summer of 2016 with my band called Babeours to some travelling guests. We we're well recieved and the hotel staff took care of us! The rooms were clean and tidy when we got in and the hostel managers we're really very accomodating. The prices are very very reasonable! If you're travelling the area, and would like to save a few $$$ in the process, this is your place. They have showers on site as well! Nicework Raging elk! -mackenzie.

The private rooms are not worth $100 a night. No AC, no towels, matress sucks. You are better off staying at a motel. Otherwise staff was nice and the bar downstairs is a good place to hang out. The kitchen and was also a nice addition, but we didn't have a reason to use it. Hostel is in a good location, ten minute walk from downtown area. Save on foods is right down the street.

Nice place with friendly staff. The kitchen is awesome and so is the rec options. It's pretty central for townies. Private rooms were great not sure about dorms.

I truly enjoyed mi staying there. Nice place, sweet attention and delicious pancakes!

Great spot, full bar, large kitchen and live music. Rooms are a bit small and a bit more cleaning needed but otherwise good value.

If in Fernie you definitely need to check this place out and I personally wouldn't stay anywhere else!
Amazing mountain, such awesome staff and the coolest vibe and bar in Fernie.

Overall it wasn't a bad stay but the heater in the room didn't work and one of the beds was broken.

Great location. Walking distance to everything downtown. A little loud at night but no other complaints.

Average hostel, though I did enjoy the individual shower rooms and separate wash basin rooms, so that more people can be getting ready at once. Wish it had bed lamps and/or fans. There was a free 'cook your own' pancake breakfast, but the kitchen was chaos in the morning so it was a little overwhelming to figure out what was going on.

This place has plenty of rooms and a great attached bar. The room setup was good with items lockable below the bed. The kitchen was pretty big but it gets crowded fast. Things they need to improve are little lights and plugs at the bed itself. If you don't have a bottom bunk, you will not be able to charge your phone in bed. The other thing I that this place has many sinks but few bathrooms. In the morning when 30 people are getting ready for the day to hit the mountain or whatever, you will have to wait a long time to get into the washroom. This place is priced well enough which is probably why it is so busy.

Right in Fernie. Clean rooms, sauna, showers, free pancakes, full kitchen. Attached to a bar, and with a big common area. Overall pleasant stay for an affordable hostel price.

Stayed here on a shoestring budget. Staff is not just friendly… more genuinely good people. From check in to check out they had smiles on ready to help. By a string of luck I landed on Monday Jam Night. Now if you are a social person, DO IT. Locals of Fernie are wicked people, spark up a convo you'll see what I mean.

We arrived so late at night our room was still available. We slept good feel like home facility was so convenient to use like my own kitchen.

We stayed with a group of 8 friends, cooked dinner, played some foosball, played table tennis and had a great fun time at Fernie. The raging elk really provides a lot of options to spend with friends. They have a TV room with a good collections of movies.

This is a Hostle so the rooms were basic but it was clean and inexpensive. The lounge is great with fine inexpensive microbrewery beers on tap in cozy surroundings. The staff were very friendly.

Great little place, price was good for the bed, aweome if your travelling on a budget. They also have a lounge so if you hit Thirsty Thursday's you can enjoy a 4$ pint from Nelson Brewing Company beer…!

Pretty cool hostel that I would stay again again if ever down Fernie way. Descent sized rooms with comfy beds that are sturdy timber framed that don't move or squeak. Has a Sauna which is a nice novelty. The bar has great atmosphere and cheapest Pints in town that are brewed locally. Common/kitchen area downstairs is big so plenty of room to chill. Downside is there is only 4 small stove tops to use and only 2.5 were working which is annoying. Us backpackers like to cook own food to save $$$

Definitely the best hostel I've stayed in. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the beds are comfortable and clean, and the kitchen is huge and well equipped. The bar is lively and inexpensive, and the common area is huge and has lots of games and things like ping pong and pool. Only problem I ran into was getting in and out of the top bunk, simply because the ladder was built a bit funny. Otherwise it was a great inexpensive stay at a great hostel.

Nice hostel! Great if you're traveling as a small group (2-3 people) : we had our own room with a private bathroom for $79 with taxes. Full kitchen, check out the lounge and couches downstairs. Free parking and bike friendly. It's an 8 min walk to downtown. The only problem is on a hot summer day, the rooms heat up. We had to have our windows and door open till nearly midnight (even then it was warm, but passable), but because we were talking some rude guy opened his door and got angry at us. There was also a loud backyard party just outside, but it was Canada Day!

Awesome little gem out there! I will stay again. Great little pub! Couldn't tell the staff from the patrons half of the time everyone was so friendly and helpful!

I had stayed here three times in the past traveling through Fernie, and enjoyed the atmosphere and slightly-lower-than-a-motel price tag. So the last time we travelled through, I reccomended to my partner we stay here. We got in late (2a. M. Ish) and the man who greated us at the front desk was clearly *extremely drunk. We had no issue with this at the time (it was after regular hours, he was still nice, and we thought it was kinda funny). What wasn't funny was that we paid the extra for a private room, then were woken up by obnoxiously loud construction at 8a. M. Going on in the room directly next to us. Clearly he forgot to warn us about this or that it would be happening at all. (If he had we would have found somewhere else to stay). We talked to the guy at the front desk that morning, who was sympathetic but said there was nothing he could do personally, and he would have the owner contact us. Then had to drive back to Saskatchewan on less than 5 hours sleep. Never did recieve any sort of follow up… Definitely didn't reccomend the Elk and pay what we did to get woken up by construction at 8a. M. ) : kinda careless.

Room was clean but fairly hot being South facing and not outside window access. Rooms seemed to be fairly sound proff. Barley heard the train or other guest's. Kitchen are is large and accessible, very friendly staff who offered any advice when asked.

Private two bed room was nice, fridge and TV made the stay nicer. Staff friendly and helpful.

Good location and cheap. Private room on our first stay was great, comfy bed and good bathroom with strong shower pressure. Second stay was uncomfortable bed and shower was very weak and took about 3mins for hot water to come through. The free breakfast was just pancakes and coffee. Would stay again.

Great place for a beer, meet friends and see some live music.

Bicycle friendly Accommodation! from owner ". We have a secure bike storage lock up room situated at the entrance of our building. Our registration area is very accessible for cyclists, usually they will leave their bike at the entrance while they register. We have security cameras pointing at the bike storage facilities and front entrance areas. Unfortunately we dont have bike tools but we do have a bike wash down area and we are a five minute walk to bike shops. ".

Casual but very personal hostel. Nice staff and interesting guests. Breakfast pancakes are good, atleast awhile. No real complains.
