Pool was packed with 50+ people. No distancing, no masks for the parents on deck watching their kids in their clothing. Packs of people on deck in their cloths drinking. Line halfway up the stairs with no distancing. Walking around the hotel hardly any guests wore their masks. We felt extremely unsafe and didn’t end up using the amenities. Nothing happening at this hotel adheres to COVID guildlines. Also, arrived for 4 pm check in and room wasn’t ready for over an hr.

My husband, 6 year old son and myself had a night away a few nights ago. We had the best time! We dont have a bad thing to say about our stay! The food was amazing, the pool was a blast! The room was amazing… The view out our window was stunning. We will definitely stay again! Highly recommended by us!

Dirty rooms!
We booked the Stanford in for the first time and we were extremely disappointed in the cleanliness of the rooms. The first room we were booked into had food on the floors and a dirty toilet. We called the front desk and they were very apologetic and moved us to another room, at this point we were questioning our choice in hotels. The second room we checked into had hair in and on the beds as well as dirty bedding… gross. We again called down and the front desk and they were apologetic, the plan at this point was they would clean our first room. When we moved back the food was gone but there was plenty of crumbs and such on the carpet, there was still food on the balcony as well as garbage in one of the shelves. At this point we decided to stay as it was late in the day. The front desk staff tried their best however the cleaning staff definitely needs an overhaul. I would not recommend this hotel period.

Great Stay, great staff, gluten free options at breakfast, loved the curry and honest staff. We forgot an iPad in the room and before we were home they called saying it was found. They graciously held for us till we could arrange for it to be picked up. Looking forward to coming back.

Good price and the view over the river was nice. Convenient location especially for my husband to access the mountain bike trails which were literally right across the road. Overall though the resort is all a bit dated. Our room was three beds, accommodating 6 people but was very crowded! Not really suitable for anything other than sleeping, there was nowhere for all of us to relax in the room besides the bed. A lot of the walls were damaged so looked a little run down. The continental breakfast was fine but a little underwhelming compared to most other I’ve experienced at similar resorts. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were all quite nice, the water slide was lots of fun. Overall I would probably stay here again when looking for a budget friendly room.

Great taste! But you need to hire more servers/waiters (our waiting time was 35-40min) and also teach them to be humble. I've been there twice with same experience.

Excellent resort to stay in budget. Old property but very well maintained. They have rooms with jacuzzi and balconies with good views. I would love to stay here again. Lots of activities to do around the area. Their indian restaurant with patio serves very authentic food.

We stayed here with our 4 kids and 2 pets. The room was standard, but clean and fit all of us comfortably in a loft style setting with 2 beds up and 1 bed down + bath. There is an indoor pool, water slide, outdoor whirlpool, serve yer-self breakfast with a pretty view of the river behind the hotel. There's not many places that can accommodate a family our size in 1 room comfortably, but this resort can & does, so we have come back to stay each year on our way to the U. S.

Just wanted to share my experience over the years with this wonderful resort. Lets look at the beautiful location right on the river and nestled in the mountains, fishing a few steps away. Hiking 10 feet from the door up to emerald Lake Lodge for lunch or dinner. Summer or winter it is the spot for you and your family enjoyment. In door pool and slide is a hit with the kids for sure. The management staff is wonderful and will make every minute enjoyable, be it helping at the resort or giving you advice on what to see and where to go. I was a with the Ski Patrol up there so I know what I am talking about. Thanks see you on our next adventure in July.

The place is nice. Great view. Rooms are nice. Price was very good. My only concern is I heard the train all night. Probably 6 trains throughout the night. All blowing the whistle. Not sure if I would go here again. I'd love it except for the train.

Clean rooms, great breakfast. Good location. Was quiet during the week when I stayed.

We stayed in a Jacuzzi king suite. The room was clean and comfortable. We ate breakfast both days there is enough of a variety for us. I broke my arm the first night and the front desk even gave us some trash liners so that I could shower. We didn't get to enjoy the pool or hot tub but enjoyed the beautiful view from our room.

Bed kind of sucked and the room could use some updates, but it was clean and a good location. The jacuzzi in the room was great. Plus we were allowed to check out a day early from pre-booked room without a penalty, which I thought was nice.

Great hotel! We stayed in a family suite for $180/night. The kids had their own double beds up stairs and a King downstairs. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and friendly staff. The water slide was fun but the pool was quite cold. The hot tub is small but the sauna is very nice to warm up in. The breakfast was okay for a continental breakfast; they had waffles, toast, melon, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs.

Love that it comes with breakfast. Has a nice pool, hot tub, and sauna too. Our room was clean and had enough room to accommodate all of us easily. Would come back again.

Fernie Stanford Resort is a cute hotel to stay in with an interesting Indian restaurant inside; rooms are alright, however beds are not queen, so hard to fit two people on, also breakfast is definitely not a prime of Stanford, it's alright, but definitely below average. Pool and hot tub are placed inconveniently, but are a lot of fun. Fernie Stanford Resort however is placed conveniently close to the hill, which is definitely helpful when coming back tired after skiing or snowboarding. Overall, Fernie Stanford Resort is a decent place to stay in if you are going to spend a lot of time at the hill, and just sleep and have breakfast at the hotel.

We're staying for a party; We asked for a change to our room, since we wanted to be able to see the river… they found a solution quickly. Very high quality service. My children into also much loves the pool with slip. We'd come back without hesitation.

Nicest hotel in Fernie. Water slides and pool are excellent. East Asian restaurant inside hotel is very good.

Rooms were pretty standard, bathrooms had good supplies. Loved the views and the vintage decor inside the hall! It has a nice Indian restaurant as well but too bad we couldn't get a chance to eat here because we were doing everything together as a team. We were there for a hockey tournament. Would love to go back and spend some more time there. Oh and the kids loved the pool and slide.

We are taking our time traveling from Vancouver to Banff for our honeymoon.
From start to finish our stay was perfect. We had a room overlooking the water which was so lovely! On our arrival we were greeted by a warm and welcoming receptionist who could not do enough to help. My husband has mobility issues so she was very helpful with everything he needed.
The restaurant staff were all fantastic. Server was very attentive. Food was wonderful and the view while eating was 11/10!
Breakfast was lovely. Filled us for the day ahead for exploring the town and our journey to Banff.
The rooms were unfaultable. Beds were lovely and comfortable. Bathroom was really clean.
When we come back to Canada from the UK this will be on our lists of places to stay. Only next time we will stay longer than 1 night!

Amazing service, beautiful location and very friendly, it's the home away from home everybody wants. Spectacular water slide for the young and young at heart, great continental breakfast in the morning. We really wanted to stay longer, the staff here are top notch. We were greeted at the front desk by Dakota who checked us in and was our favorite experience with a front desk anywhere we have ever stayed and we travel frequently. W can not say enough good things about our stay at Stanford, Fernie.

Booked through Expedia for only $76 but was worth so much more! Staff was friendly and helpful. The pool, water slide and hot tub was perfect after a long drive and the view was amazing! Worth walking down to the river behind the hotel so beautiful! Comes with a awesome free continental breakfast with a make your own waffle bar my kids loved!

Dakota at the front desk is amazing! Food at the restaurant was good, but the service is very slow. The rooms are really dated and I agree, ditch the old bedspreads! Bigger TV's in the rooms would be nice for $180/night. The pool and water slide is the thing that brings you here when you've got kids.

Such a beautiful place. Right next to the river and a 5 minute drive from the town. The rooms have everything you could ask for and the staff have been nothing but amazing towards us. Definitely a great spot to experience Fernie and the gems around this cozy town.

Great jacuzzi room, but my only complaint would be the "hot breakfast" they didn't have anything cooked. It was a ''make yourself your own waffle and shut up'' type meal. They had a bowl of boiled eggs and they were overlooked. Such a disappointment. There was one bowl of fruit and a tray of yogurt, three kinds of cereal and instant oatmeal to make yourself. For such a top rated hotel they could really step it up. They were great at the front desk don't get me wrong but give your guests some breakfast they pay for. You have a restaurant attached, make a pan of eggs and bacon next time or some sausage or something half decent.

The kids loved the pool and slide and we loved that both were accessible from our room (ask for this location, if you would too). The location is great for access to the ski hill and the hotel backs onto the river as well. There is a pretty solid Indian restaurant attached to the hotel for those nights you choose to dine nearby.

Although the staff were friendly and accommodating, the hotel itself had lots of little issues. The elevator was noisy, the room had some shelves that looked like they would fall off the wall pretty easily. The air conditioning unit was very noisy and woke us up through the night. The pool and slide was pretty awesome, our kids loved it. Probably won't come back though.

Very nice staff and descent continental breakfast. Stayed in a pet friendly room which is on the bottom floor so pretty basic but great location along the river.

Great place to stay. Restaurant is Indian cuisine. It is fantastic and very reasonably priced for what you get. Wi-Fi was an issue but staff are great at helping with any difficulties.

Beautiful location, Amazing fòod and courteous staff! This place is perfect. Special Thanks to Corein (manager) for taking special care of us and Keshav (the chef) for delicious food. I would definitely recommend this place.

Very nice hotel. The room we had was clean with a nice view of the river. Great place to take the family as there is a large pool with a waterslide to keep the kids amused for hours. The restaurant was nice as well, a little expensive but the food was really good. The only thing that keeps it from a 5 star was the breakfast. Very disappointed in the continental breakfast. There was barely enough food to feed the few people that were there. One waffle Iron and some toast and cereal is not a breakfast. Maybe it was the time of year but definitely disappointing.

Front desk staff were great, room was clean and the beds were comfortable. My room was facing the highway — but was still quite. Our view of the mountains was spectacular.

My wife and I had a lovely time at Fernie Stanford Resort. The pool and sauna were tons of fun, and the whirlpool in the room was excellent. The only downside was that the restaurant is closed on Monday's, so we had to go into town for dinner and drinks.

The staff is sooo friendly and welcoming. The location and the view from the balcony is spectacular. You will love staying in this hotel. I will need to spend at least three days in this hotel next time!

The greatest staff. Made us feel like royalty. Most comfortable hotel beds ever and surprised how quiet room was facing hi way. And the water slide rocks according to my kids and husband. Thank you for all you did.

A couple of years ago when we stayed with a family of 8, it was one of the best. Unfortunately after my stay there this week, I have completely changed my mind about it and will not be coming back. The entire hotel was empty when we stayed yet the rooms we got had a strange odd smell in them that has now traveled with us in our clothes. One of the washrooms had no shower curtain, one washroom had shower drainage issue and the third room had heating unit issue. Breakfast was continental and bagels/ breads not fresh. The views are great the outdoor hot tub was good as well. If you are willing to stay here, ask for the river side rooms as they will be much quieter compared to the highway side which can get very noisy especially around 4:30am.

Best hotel I have been to in a very long time. We arrived to find out that they had upgraded us to a larger room. The beds were comfortable and the pillows too! The on site restaurant is great if you love East Indian Food…they also have a small Western selection. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic before heading out skiing. I would come back here again over any other place I have stayed in Fernie. The hot tub and pool were also great.

Best place to stay anywhere! Simpy put its a awsome and worth every penny. I stay In hotels a lot and this is by far the best value for anyone who wants to stay in luxury.
