I went there already twice and I think I never had a better trip. It's like a big family. Party every night outside at the beautiful Patio. Everyone is welcome, no judgment. If you want it quiet just go inside to chill. They have all kinds of bored games, Wii, playstation whatever. Guitars are there to borrow. Fairy lights everywhere! It's a special vibe there. I loved it and I definitely wanna go again. But remember it's a Hostel not a luxury Hotel.

This place is amazing. By far theBest hostel in Kelowna and surrounding areas. The friendly staff made me feel welcom and created a super fun atmosphere for all guests. It’s clean, tidy organised common areas, kitchen and rooms made it easy to cook and clean and meet other backpackers. It had a variety of free daily activity’s within the hostel and was also very helpful for other tours and activities around the area. I made many friends at this hostel and would recommend it to anyone who is travelling BC and around the Okanagan area.

I loved it so much. I will definitely be back. Rooms are nice. Common areas are nice. Everyone was so cool and friendly. Fun daily events happen.

This is a big house that has been transformed into a hostel. It has a cool vibe & decorations, but many of the people also live & work there, which creates a close-knit group of people that is tough to crack when you are just staying for a few nights. We ended up meeting a few people, but they were also just there for a short period of time. We booked 2 beds in a 4 bed dorm. Got there to find 2 girls sharing a double bed, and their belongings taking up the entire room (shelves, hooks, storage, etc. ). Wish that there would have been more room for our belongings & to move around in the room in general because of this. Lockers right in the room which is nice, and they are a good size (bring your own lock! ). The bunk beds are a little wiggley when you move around. Towels are provided and the hostel overall is very clean. 3% surcharge if you pay card — so bring cash if you want to avoid that. Overall a good experience for young travellers — a very rambunctious crowd at times — parties on the weekend going late! If we were to return to Kelowna, we would likely get a private room as I enjoyed the hostel environment but when others are staying for long periods of time, they get comfortable (and spread out) in the dorm rooms!

Book elsewhere. Anywhere. Will not return. We booked a four bed dorm and arrived to a couple sharing the room. No refunds the second they have your money. Give your business to anyone else in the country for a better experience.

If your traveling from outside Canada you must stay here it's super cheap everyone is super friendly.

Super awesome stay, met some nice people from all over the world! Great ambiance with a welcoming atmosphere! Audrey took the time to help us with anything we needed and took the time to educate us about fun places around the city.

Great friendly staff! Free greyhound pick-up and free towels and bedding! Did I also mention the free pancakes?!

My favourite backpacker hostel on this planet!

Best Hostel in Canada and maybe in the wold. The balcony is made to communicate. You might be alone in your travels but you will always find family or good friends there.

Way cheaper than a hotel and alot more character. Very friendly staff.

Relaxed atmosphere. Weekend was a little loud until just past 12am, which wasn’t convenient because I needed to wake up early and was already overtired. But people like to have a little fun, especially on the weekends, so it’s understandable… Really good atmosphere and has been more quiet during the week.

Just spend one night there but everything was great. Friendly staff. Amazing decorations. Clean bathrooms. Big and well furnished kitchen. Nice beds. Two patios to enjoy the summer. I recommend this place!

This place will change your life! I have made so many good friends here! Made so many life long memories! So grateful to have had KIH in my life! Go there! You will have the time of your life!

That place actually change my life. I came there for 2 mouth, only the time to learn my english. But I had stay for way more longuer. I'd cry a couple of time because the vibe there is like a traveler family and it hurt when someone leaving. You will find brother and sister around the World and that place will make you traveling agaain and again. You should try!

I didn't stay long, but my time there was long enough for me to appreciate how cool the staff is with us! Being there felt like having a big big family and the hostel itself is really cute. You won't regret going there :)

Fantastic. If my family treated me this well I never would have run away from home. All kidding aside… this place is a fun place to spend a few nights. Alslo very clean. The young people who run it are absolutely friendly and competent. It's small but for its size quite remarkable. Totally relaxed. Six out of five. Ah heck make it seven!

I made a mistake and checked into the wrong hostel on the May long weekend. As soon as I realized my error. I checked out. I was in formed that it should be no problem as I did not even spend one nor did I reserve a room. I went back to the place the next day only yo be told the manager was not around and the staff could get a hold of her. I called later the same day and my was asked for and I was told someone would contact me. Nobody has made any effort to refund my money. I am now dealing with this through my credit card resolution group. Very disappointed in the service and response to an issue that SHOULD have been taken care of that same evening.

Travelled thru Kelowna during the summer months back in 2013, staying at this cool looking hostel. Met some really nice people, carried on but came back again towards the end of summer as just loved the vibes amongst the social environment, the art work throughout, people going out of there way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable, location, Kelowna the heart of the Okanagan. There is plenty to do. Really safe hostel. Have had some the best times of my life living and working at this hostel! So many friends with so many stories!

It was a nice surprise for a hostel, friendly staff, decent living quarters, nice clean bathroom and rooms. I have lived in a fair share of hostels and would have zero problem staying here again. I do would recommend it.

It was lovely they took care of us nice clean beds couldn't be more happy with it.

The hostel is vibrant and colourful, our roommates were wonderful, and the staff was nice however the cleanliness was definitely lacking. The bathtub was slimy : (that's just not safe for anyone. There are better and cleaner options. Of all the hostels I stayed in on this trip, I was only disappointed with this one.

Lost my reservation and were completely booked. I've been here before and the staff are nice, laid back, and very friendly/helpful. Younger stays-up-all-night crowd, so if you're not into that, keep looking.

Great hostel with friendly staff and other travelers. It's a long walk (2km, 25 minutes) up to downtown but there is also an area of stores and restaurants just 1km south. Some of the hostel guests seem to have been staying there for weeks but were still very open to outsiders.

Hostel wasn't that clean. There was hair everywhere in the bathrooms and cobwebs on the walls. The facilities were alright but they have cheap squeaky bunks. The staff were nice and helpful but had made their own clique within the hostel. The free pasta and Tuesdays and pancakes for breakfast were a welcome bonus.

This is a good hostel, clean, well organised, relaxed with good vibes. The staff are good to and I just enjoyed the fact that this place doesn't get run like a business trying to grab your cash like other hostels. Only suggestion I have is that you guys use better blankets as I was pretty chilly on the first night.

First of all, Drew is an idiot. Most hostels don't allow locals to stay. The building is old but very well maintained and cleaned (bigger hostels should take note). Cool staff, good location and there's always something on. The common areas are cool, ranging from hammocks to a TV full of guitars and the deck illuminated with a colorful array of fairy lights. Stay for 7 days and get a nice discount — not that it's expensive to start with.

I tried to book a one-night stay. They said there were two beds available, but then they asked where I was from. When I said Penticton, they refused to let me stay there saying they were a hostel only for "international travelers". Kind of a bigoted way to operate a hostel. What kind of business refuses service to people based on their residency?

The KIH is a really nice place to stay in and around Kelowna! The hostel is clean, everyday the staff clean the floor. The people here are really kind. Everyday is a activity and you can ask for sport gadgets. Often the hole hostel goes to the beach and do like a little beach party. It is like a big family. I love this place!

If you wanna meet people and have a great time, then this is the hostel for you. Some people would call it small, but the cozy atmosphere helps bring everyone together. Was only looking to stay one night, and continue on our road trip, but within the hour, we had met a really cool group of people who wanted us to eat with them, and we stayed another night. Only reason we left was because we had places to be. The hospitality of both residents and staff were enough to make me stay there when I go back (which will be specifically to stay there again)

If you are under 30 and looking to have a good time and meet some awesome people, the Kelowna International Hostel is the place to stay! There were travelers from all around the world staying with us and everyone was super friendly! The current staff are awesome, and even willing to chill with us (while off-duty of course) and have a good laugh! It is a bit of a walk to the grocery store as well as the main beach/downtown core, but if you're traveling you shouldn't be afraid to do a little walking! I would definitely stay here again when I return to Kelowna.
