Element by Marriott Calgary Downtown

Our stay at the Element Calgary Downtown was fantastic from start to finish. The hotel itself is stunning—modern, eco-friendly, and perfectly located. Our room felt more like a mini-apartment than a hotel room, complete with a full kitchenette and a very comfortable bed.
The absolute highlight, however, was the 12th-floor rooftop dining area. Starting the day with the Rise breakfast while looking out over the Bow River was incredible. The selection was fresh and high-quality, and the staff there were so warm and attentive, keeping everything spotless and well-stocked.
We also had dinner at the rooftop bar in the evening. The atmosphere is unbeatable, and the service was just as impressive as the morning crew—professional, friendly, and very welcoming. Every staff member we encountered, from the front desk to the dining team, truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Highly recommend this spot for anyone visiting Calgary!

This is a 5-star hotel for what you’re paying for. The team is unreal. I bumped into one of the employees Zara, who I met at another Calgary hotel about a year ago, and she remembered my name! She is an amazing human being and I am so grateful to be able to stay at a hotel that she’s at. It made my experience.
Each of the team members were trained very well, you could tell they actually cared about the guests, which is rare amongst hotels these days. I have a Titanium membership so I was upgraded. The room was nice, breakfast was great, gym was good. Honestly I can’t say I’d need anything more or different from the stay. I highly recommend this hotel if you’re in Calgary.

Great location. Easy parking on the street. Rooms are big with comfortable beds and very clean. Breakfast is on the 12th floor with a beautiful and relaxing view, good food and the buffet is neatly organized. The staff is very polite.

Great location, facing Bow River, 5-minute driving to downtown main buildings. (A public parkade nearby, quite convenient). Super clean rooms with kitchen appliance! The staff are kind and helpful. It feels like home especially for people staying for a long journey.
One thing to mention is breakfast. Beautiful view and healthy food, and staff with smile. It makes you a good start of the day. Highly recommend the Chef's Special, delicious!

Great size rooms, the breakfast buffet each morning was a nice addition, nothing crazy but enough of a selection to have variety and start the day.
When checking in we were told the rooms only get cleaned every second day, but ours wasn’t touched for the 4 nights we stayed which was a bit disappointing. Wouldn’t have minded so much if when booking the rooms they were advertised as no housekeeping.
Location was prefect for walking and exploring Calgary and accessing the tram, would definitely stay here again.
Would be nice if the rooftop bar and restaurant offered a happy hour, entice guests to have a drink on site after a long day exploring. Having said that we found plenty of fantastic alternatives all within walking distance.

Genuinely super unimpressed with this place… When we first checked in the staff were welcoming and kind and seemed to be going above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and happy… However upon a simple miscommunication regarding the length of our stay the facade fell to the wayside and we were treated as nuisances. The staff were aggressive and defensive and, due to their incompetence, they cost me my standing in a tournament that I was competing in. My partner had to scramble to gather our things and switch rooms even though I had asked that they simply keep us in the same room and charge the credit card that I had given them for my file. This was apparently too much for them to handle and I had to continually step away from my tournament to deal with their calls as they were unable to extend our stay by a night. I was told that they needed a booking number in order to extend our stay. So, upon googling them, I followed the only link that popped up with their information in order to book the room for another night. They then told my partner that we would have to switch rooms. I had to call them and, using the phonetic alphabet, I spelled out my partners name so that they could give him the key to the new room. When my partner went down to 'check in' and give the keys back and get new keys, the incompetent front desk person angrily said that I gave him a different name. This is false. Also, they had seen my partner with me in the many days before this occurrence.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Element Calgary Downtown hotel. Hotel is quite new and very clean, with good buffet breakfast included (eggs, chicken sausage, potato hash) although they were the same thing all 3 days we were there. Front desk and breakfast staff were all friendly and welcoming. Valet parking up front and he helped us with our luggage when we arrived. We saw they have bicycles in the lobby, so probably will be good to borrow one during the spring/summer warmer weather for a ride around the park.
This was our first time staying at an Element hotel and we love it. It feels modern, with walk-in shower, comfy bed, a kitchenette with basic kitchen utensils (forks/spoons/plates), kettle for hot water, and Nespresso machine with coffee pods, and an in-room safe. But the TV channels did not line up with the TV guide onscreen and the TV signals keep cutting in and out. Also, there is no luggage rack, so we had to put our bags on the table and on the floor.
Area felt safe, close to Eau Claire neighborhood on the west side of downtown, near Peace Bridge. Several restaurants in the nearby vicinity, including a small supermarket (Kay's) around the corner.
We took a Lyft/Uber from the airport in, but there is also a light rail station less than 10 minutes walk to/from the hotel.
We highly recommend Element Calgary Downtown hotel.

We are loving our stay! A well appointed experience. This hotel location is also great to walk about downtown. The valet is easy and efficient, we are visiting people here so it is great to have such friendly valet with in and out privileges as we are coming and going more here than our typical hotel stay. The cost per day is fair and the staff is quick and friendly. $35 per weekend day $40 per week day. Plus we of course leave a tip each time w come and go. You can scan to tip on your valet slip which is nice.
Speaking of the staff, the team here is great. We feel very welcome and cared for. They have friendly faces and great communication.
I have the Marriott app that has been great to reach out with an impromptu a housekeeping need, and it did arrive quickly to our room.
The hotel decor is gorgeous and inviting with many artistic touches done right.
The rooms here are great. Absolutely everything we need is here. Our booking is for a king 1 bedroom suite. Super comfy and spacious;makes me feel like I’m in a perfect downtown apartment.
There is a hydration station near the elevator on each floor for crushed ice to take back to your room.
Arriving in November we know the weather can change quickly, they even have an umbrella here for us 😌
There is space to hang coats, put away winter clothes and unpack and hang our luggage. Excellent coffee is provided in our suite with all the basic equipment for cooking and reheating food is provided.

I recently stayed at the Element Hotel Calgary Downtown and had an exceptional experience. I booked a room to offer my clients a comfortable space for massage sessions, and everyone commented on how beautiful, spacious, clean, and relaxing the room and hotel were.
As a Bonvoy member, I truly appreciated being upgraded to a lovely suite room — a thoughtful touch that made the stay even better. My room view was spectacular. The front desk staff were warm, friendly, and very hospitable throughout my visit. Breakfast was delicious, with a great variety, and the server Sara were attentive kind and accommodating.
I also enjoyed dinner at Bow & Bend, the hotel’s restaurant — the food was excellent, and it was so convenient not having to leave the hotel to find a good meal.
There is a small convenience store and liquor store just beside the hotel for basic needs. Parking not so good but lucky enough to find a spot on the street.
Overall, this property exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend Element Calgary Downtown (and be a Bonvoy Member) for both leisure and business stays — you’ll feel well taken care of from start to finish!

We visited Element Hotel in downtown Calgary to book a room for a few days, and from the moment we walked in, the experience was wonderful. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They even showed us the rooms before booking — and I was honestly amazed! The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and have a fully equipped kitchen that’s perfect for longer stays. Everything looked brand new.
The entire hotel gives off such a calm, aesthetic, and super clean vibe — it’s spotless everywhere! Breakfast was included, and it was delicious — from the fresh food and soups to the espresso and coffee, everything was perfect.
A huge thank-you to Emian, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. He helped us from check-in until the day we left and even took the time to show us the best local places to visit on our first night. I honestly felt like I made a new friend in Calgary.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, clean, and welcoming place to stay downtown, I 100% recommend Element Hotel — it truly exceeded all my expectations!

Element Calgary Downtown a Marriott Hotel.
Simply put, this is a boutique, chic hotel tucked just west of downtown on Fourth Avenue. The fixtures and design elements are high-end and thoughtfully executed throughout. Service at the front desk was excellent, and valet parking is available. There’s a comfortable lounge area across from the elevator bay, a coffee shop, and even bikes available for loan—not rent—in the lobby. An absolute treat and still feels brand new.
The room was massive—I’m fairly sure I was upgraded. It featured a full kitchenette with a built in two burner hot plate, pots, dishes, and a decent-sized fridge and dishwasher. Nespresso machine, YES! A small family could easily live here. The living room area and couch were spacious, and there were two massive TVs—one in the bedroom and one in the living area. I could go on and on.
I’ll definitely be returning to this spot.

I recently stayed at Hotel Element in Calgary with my mom for two nights, and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The valet parking service was spot-on — I never had to wait for my car, and the team was always quick, polite, and professional.
The morning buffet was surprisingly good — fresh food, decent variety, and the dining area was clean and well-kept. The rooms were modern and comfortable, and the beds were so cozy that I had some of the best sleep I’ve had in a long time!
The front desk staff were consistently friendly and helpful, always greeting us with smiles and making sure everything was perfect during our stay. My mom and I genuinely enjoyed every moment here.
If you’re ever visiting Calgary, I’d highly recommend staying at Hotel Element. It’s clean, comfortable, and run by people who truly care about their guests. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🏨✨

My stay at Element Calgary was excellent overall. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and well maintained. A special mention to Flor, from housekeeping — she is incredibly kind and attentive, always ensuring everything is spotless and welcoming.
The breakfast deserves a special highlight — probably the best I’ve ever had at a hotel in Canada, where breakfasts are usually quite limited. The variety, quality, and freshness really make a difference and set this hotel apart.
Unfortunately, my interaction with Amanda (or Mandy) at the front desk wasn’t great. She mentioned she was doing me a “favor” by giving me a room upgrade, which is actually one of my Marriott Bonvoy benefits. When I tried to explain that, she kept interrupting me, saying she already knew my benefits because she could “see them on the screen. ” Definitely not the best customer service approach.
On the other hand, Tryphine Sondo at the front desk truly stood out. She has some of the best customer service skills I’ve ever experienced in the industry — calm, professional, and genuinely helpful. She goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued and supported.
Overall, it was a great stay, thanks to the team members who truly care about guests and make the difference.

I don’t have enough words to describe the extent of the positive experience I had at this Marriott.
Every single person I interacted with at this hotel — front desk, staff, cooks — was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating. This was my first time visiting the city and I must have called at least five times ahead of the trip to ask about the reservations, about getting around, and about general logistics. Every conversation ended with my travel anxiety assuaged. The staff at Bow and Bend were attentive about anything we might have needed (it was a buffet serve-yourself style of breakfast, which just demonstrated how they went above and beyond what they needed to do).
The location. I will be raving to my friends about what a perfect location this hotel is. The Peace Park was a few minutes north and it was one of the most beautiful parks we’ve ever been to. The downtown area with more shops and restaurants was also maybe 15 minutes walking and the bus stop for the shuttle that goes to Banff was just a few blocks away. This is a larger testament to the city planning of Calgary but everything felt accessible and safe, even for someone like me who does not live in a walkable city and isn’t accustomed to getting around primarily by foot.
It goes without saying that the room was also magnificent. So comfortable, very sizeable fridge and kitchenette area.

We had a nice, clean, big room. It was quiet. Shower water pressure was meh but everything else was perfect. Check in/out was easy. Beds were super comfy.
The only concern I had before arriving was parking but there's a large, surface lot run by the City kitty-corner to the hotel and it's cheap to park there on evenings and weekends, so I think parking cost under $10 for the two nights I stayed.
So much amazing, reasonably priced food nearby. Go to the Mexican restaurant next door. It's called Spicy Amigos and it is WONDERFUL. There is also a nearby Japanese BBQ place that is fantastic, too.

I had such a great stay last time that I came back today. I stay at about 35-40 different hotels every year and this is quickly becoming one of my favourites. The rooms are modern and stylish with tons of space. The amenities are fantastic and the staff are world class. Big props to Iliya who helped me at the front desk today. I felt like I was a regular customer at the four seasons. Great job you guys keep it up!
