For sure, its the most beautiful place in Cambodia. I definitely recommend these friendly people. I stay in their place around 6 months. I see all the things with full details. Nothing will bother you. They will welcome you like a real family!

Fantastic! Great, friendly staff, extremely clean, great saltwater pool. I'd stay here everytime.

They handled my reservation well even if it was last-minute (I booked five hours before I checked in. ) Helped me extend my stay in my preferred room for two more nights. The room size is ample with air-conditioning, refrigerator, bedlamp, comfy bed and even comfier pillows. Hot shower could be warmer. They have a swimming pool with jacuzzi bubbles open till 11PM. Bar is open till 12 midnight. The staff also helped us to book last-minute bus to Ho Chi Minh (40 minutes before departure) and even called a tuk tuk to take us to the bus station. Many thanks to the friendly and helpful Base Villa team for making our last few days in Cambodia memorable.

The first bar/hotel I stayed in cambodia… 3 years ago… I still go back… its that good.

Solid hostel. Great, friendly staff. Pool seemed really well maintained and was a joy to swim in. The room was alright, not super well ventilated and extremely dark, even during the day. My only complaint would be the other tenants (snorers, people leaving in the dead of night).

I love Base Villa! I've returned here again after my travels in Vietnam and it is always my hostel of choice when in Phnom Penh.

Very affordable hostel. They provide you with a towel, a locker for your things if your sharing a dorm as well. The lounge and pool is pretty good, loads of space, you can also have breakfast/lunch/dinner. Very close to ATMs and supermarkets. They do have air conditioning but there are still flies in the room. There were no windows in the room either. It's just like one room with bathroom and toilet pretty much.

The restaurant is good, the atmosphere is good (young), pool, table football. Backpacker atmosphere. A little too many joint smokers in my opinion but hey they did me nothing wrong. Just that everywhere even at the pool it smokes grass. The dorm is clean and very large with two bathrooms for 10. Sufficient.

Nice hotel But be careful there are works right next door… so no fat mat ' possible!

The photos of the room I had booked were nothing like the room I actually got. Didn't have windows and the bathroom sink leaked whenever the tap was turned on. It did however have air conditioning and the food was decent.

Everything was sweet: the staff, facilities, food, cocktails and so much more. But unfortunately for me at the time I was in the building besides was in construction and so really noisy, I mean impossible to sleep confortably in the morning. Waking up early because of the loud machines next door. Deal killer.

One of the nicest hostels I’ve stayed at during my SE Asia travels so far! Friendly staff, good food, spacious rooms with storage lockers and great pool area to relax around.

In 3 months travelling s/e Asia. This is the best hostel I have stayed in. Dorm room was really clean and comfortable. Staff are all local and fantastic. Jonny and koshan in the bar are really helpful. The food is excellent and the pool area is a great place to chill with private booths. Highly recommend base villa.

Great hostel for backpackers. Outdoor pool, bar and great atmosphere.

Nice villa due to the pool area the rest is not amazing although thought practical (large lockers, Indiv light and Indiv socket). If I did not stay it is by the lack of natural light in the rooms (this is a classic a priori for this price) but especially since the staff did not know (or wanted) to advise me a place to rent a bike in town since none of their bike was available. I found no Pro at all…

Super nice staff, delicious food and beautiful communal areas.
Unfortunately, the entire hostel is currently undergoing renovation or expansion. This means that you live in a huge construction site where really noise is made all day with heavy equipment. Requiring the full room rate for that is quite brazen. Mold in the bath! A private room cost as much as the much better hotel we were in before.
In the evening, when the noise is gone, a super chilled hostel with a cool pool. Without a construction site and mold, we would come back!

Les points positifs : Bien situé. Une belle piscine, billard et babyfoot gratuit. Chambre plutot propre, pas d'insectes. Grands casiers dans lesquels on peut mettre un grand sac à dos, cadenas fourni. Clim dans la chambre. Douche chaude. Bière 0, 75$ de 5pm à 8pm. Nourriture très bonne. Les points négatifs : Beaucoup beaucoup de travaux dans le bâtiment voisin ET dans l'hotel, impossible de profiter de la piscine la journée. Et le matin les travaux commencent vers 7h, dimanche inclus. Chambre sans fenetre. Wifi bancal. Note pour le staff : si de nouvelles personnes arrivent la nuit, ne pas rentrer dans la chambre en allumant la lumière et en parlant à haute voix alors que les gens dorment déjà.

Really beautiful outer area with bar and clean pool. You might forget to stay in a big city like Phnom Penh. Restrooms are clean and better than majority budget accommodations in Cambodia. Private room is just worth the price you pay for it.

Awesome hostel, feels small and familiar despite the many dorms. The pool is great and the beers are $1, staff is sweet and you can rent bikes for $3 or motorbikes for $8

We had a double room in the base villa during our stay in Phnom Penh. The room was clean and big at a reasonable price. The pool was perfect to cool down after the city trip. The cocktails at the pool bar were delicious, especially the mojito.

Had a great time at Base Villa. I enjoyed the pool and people that work there. Rooms are great. The pool is awesome. I'd go again everytime.

First time to Cambodia and Base Villa was my first stop! From the moment you walk in you are truly looked after and welcomed. Have loved my stay here and will be coming back to stay again transiting through Phnom Penh. The food is amazing! The rooms (private rooms) are huge! Awesome Wi-Fi, aircon and they have a pool! Bar staff are so amazing and friendly. They have truly looked after me since I stepped into the place. They offer great day tours with their tuk tuk drivers also. Definitely stay here if you fly into Phnom Penhz… it's a little gem in this big city.

Base Villa is a great play to stay. Our room and bathroom were clean and simple, with TV, AC and fan. Stayed on a private room so can't tell you about the dorm rooms but everyone else staying here had nothing but good things to say. Awesome bar with great food and drinks. Their staff is very helpful whether is late or early and they will help you with everything you need, IE: transport, laundry, etc…

Okay atmosphere. Should have more relaxed areas not only tables. Big dorm with beds tightly arranged. The beds are only 1.90 with partly closer ends and sheets even shorter,   because you can't cover yourself your might freeze from aircon. Per 10 beds there is only one shower and one bath room, one water basin which is openly situated. Door is a large metal type and can be noisy of not cauthious. Most staff is very friendly and lockers are big though. However one staff member laughed at mr when I explained I woke up cold as ice because someone set aircon to 18 and I was not able to cover myself with the short sheet. Food is 4/5 but 50% more expensive when you would expect, same with drinks. Has many good reviews because you get a free beer if you post one and I don't anyone would show a bad one.

Base villa has such a nice chilled and friendly atmosphere! You can enjoy a dip in the pool, a drink at the bar and a delicious meal at the resturant. They have both Western and Cambodian dishes to choose from. The rooms are spacious and clean!
If you need a tuk-tuk they have them right outside the hostel. In need of information-ask the front desk, they are very helpful :)
All round it was a fantastic stay here.

Great and cheerful place with an amazing atmosphere. The staff is very kind and the bar is awesome. To top it all up it has an amazing pool where you can relax for the day.

This place is INCREDIBLE. An oasis in the heart of Cambodia's hustling capital, Base Villa is everything you need and want in an ideal hostel. Originally planning to stay just one night, we opted for two and found the best day of our trip to be the day when we did nothing but relax by the pool. The poolside restaurant and bar has some amazing food with exceptional service. The waitstaff is super friendly, always willing to help, and remembered all of our names instantly. The rooms are immaculately clean, air conditioned, and safe. Spacious lockers are included for additional security. The bathrooms are well-maintained and spotless. Base Villa earned my highest recommendation and I absolutely cannot wait to return.

Stayed here two days en route to the coast, didn't expect to add an extra night, but it was that good! Friendly staff, great bar and pool, air con, laundry, Wi-Fi, you name it. Rooms are clean, lockers very secure, food is great (try the Fish AMOK) and the backpackers are great company. Definitely coming back when we head north.

By far the best hostel that I have been. Everybody has been incredibly welcoming and they all learned our names quickly and made the stay amazing. The rooms are also very clean and the bar, swimming pool, and pool table made for some great nights.

I have gone to Base Villa two times now, and both times I have enjoyed it. The staff are friendly and the food is pretty good; I especially like their breakfast wrap. :) A shout out to Pisey as well for his kind service. :) The environment is relaxed and laid back. It is also very affordable and their showers have hot water! I've never swam in the pool yet, but it sure looks nice haha.
