Angkor Thum is a historical city located in the Siem Reap Province of Cambodia. It is part of the larger Angkor Archaeological Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. The city of Angkor Thum was the last capital of the Khmer Empire and was established in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII. It is known for its impressive architecture, including the famous Bayon Temple, which is adorned with giant stone faces, and the Terrace of the Elephants, which features intricate carvings of elephants and other mythical creatures.
