Review of Kalofer Hotel 3*

Great hotel for young people. About 10 minute walk to flower street (the main strip) down one well lit main road which has a police station half way down. The road has no strip clubs or anything on until you reach flower street, so no dodgy looking people standing around. A small supermarket next door. A English restraunt (I think the bloke who owns it is English aswell) about 200 metres down the road which serves a proper full English for 10.50 lev (about £5). Perfect for when hungover. Got an easy to access safe deposit box at reception for your money and passport etc. Which only costs 5 lev a day. The cleaners leave you alone to suffer your hangover in peace, but they do come round atleast once daily so make sure to leave a note outside the door if you don't want to be disturbed. The hotel is very clean. All the staff are friendly. The night staff speak limited English, but this has never been a problem. They know enough to hold a basic conversation. The pool is a little dirty, which is about the only bad thing. If you are just looking for a relaxing holiday, the hotel is far enough away from the strip so you can't hear any music and no night life noise. It's about 15/20 minute walk from the beech if you go via the strip. But if you want to walk around the backstreets (which I have done plenty of times drunk at 4 in the morning and never had any trouvle) you can probably get there in 5/10 minutes. Plenty of places to eat in the area, the ones I've been in are cheaper than on the strip. There only seems to be a few young people at the hotel (of which I am one) so you won't be disturbed at all hours of the morning. The hotel is happy to arrange transport for you, which will be cheaper than getting a taxi off the street. Overall it's a great hotel, which I would recommend and will be staying at again.
