When we heard about Yarkay, we were not too sure because we were not familiar with the name. Later, when we came to know that it is run by IHC, the company which runs Taj group of hotels, we were a little more comfortable. The hotel is absolutely perfect. Hospitality gets 11 on 10 marks. The chef Pankaj used to come every day at every meal to ask about the food and changes we required as per requirements. At the desk, Buddha and Karma were also exceptionally helpful. Since the hotel has recently been upgraded, Everything in the room was also excellent. On the last day when we were leaving, we also had a small farewell ceremony! All in all, an absolute wonderful experience. Thank you and keep up the good work. God bless you all.

Recently, my in-laws stayed at this hotel and they had a very pleasant experience. The staff was extremely polite, welcoming, and always ready to help. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained.
They especially appreciated the warm hospitality and smooth service throughout their stay. Everything was well organized, making their visit relaxed and enjoyable.

Room is cozy, everything is clean, staffs are helpful too and they speak english very well. Good service from the premise.
Strategic location with ample of convenience stored and shop lots to look at by walking distance.
Breakfast is simple yet mouth watering and fulfill your stomach, succulent lunch served too!

No words can describe the invaluable experience we had at Yarkay. The attention to detail to make the customers delighted will just blow away your mind. They made us dress in the traditional Bhutanese attire, served an elaborate Veg Bhutanese cuisine, a relaxing foot spa after a long tiring day and the list goes on. Special thanks to Mr. Mani for making our stay memorable. The Bhutanese cuisine the served was one of the best food experiences we ever had.

Yesterday, Geeta and I visited Taj, ThimYarkay, Thimphu, for dinner, and once again Taj proved why it holds such a special place in our hearts. From the moment we walked in, we felt the warmth, elegance, and genuine care that only Taj can offer.
We had the privilege of meeting Chef Pankaj, the Head of Culinary. Even though he was deeply involved in his internal work, he still made time to sit with us personally. The way he spoke with us, checked on us, and ensured every detail of our meal was perfect truly touched our hearts. His presence itself made the evening feel special—like a family member making sure you are taken care of. Such humility and passion are rare, and we felt truly grateful.
A heartfelt appreciation to the young lady (Santu) who served our table, along with the intern supporting her. Their grace, attentiveness, and beautiful hospitality made us feel so valued. They didn’t just serve food, they served warmth, respect, and genuine love for their work. Watching their confidence and the way they carried themselves, we could clearly see the spark of future leadership. She has that magic in her.
Taj (IHCL) once again reminded us that great hospitality is not just about service—it is about heart, emotion, and human connection. Our evening was made memorable because of the love and dedication shown by the entire team.

Our stay at Yarkay Thimphu was delightful. The hotel offers a perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and modern amenities right in the heart of the city. From the moment we checked in, the staff greeted us with genuine kindness and ensured we felt well taken care of throughout our stay.
Our upgraded room was cozy, spotless, and beautifully maintained, providing a peaceful space to unwind after exploring Thimphu. We especially appreciated the little touches—prompt room service, attentive housekeeping, and helpful recommendations for nearby attractions and restaurants.
The hotel’s location is ideal for couples who want to explore the city together; everything is within easy reach. After days filled with sightseeing, coming back to Yarkay felt like returning home. Breakfast was delicious with a nice variety, and the staff always made sure we had everything we needed.
Overall, Yarkay made our trip truly comfortable and memorable. We highly recommend it to any couple visiting the capital who wants great service, convenience, and a warm, welcoming environment.

Surprisingly great place run by Taj India group. Central location, short walk to everything and really wonderful service. I was here for 3 nights and felt well looked after. Lobby Manager Mr. Mani was extremely hospitable. Great experience overall. Will return to stay here if I were to go back for work.

I don't even know where to begin with this, but I have to share the experience my husband and I had at Yarkay. We were so excited to check out their Thai food festival, and we arrived to find we were the first guests. They told us their preparations hadn't even started yet, but we said that was fine. Little did we know what was coming.
Our first dish was a raw papaya salad, presented in a fancy martini glass. It looked beautiful, but that beautiful presentation hid a full-sized Thai green chili that had been cut up and disguised to look exactly like a piece of French bean. My husband, who has a high tolerance for spice, took a bite, thinking it was just a bean, and he chewed on the chili. The scoville wrath hit him full force. It was terrifying to watch him writhing in pain, his lips swelling up. I was honestly looking for signs of anaphylactic shock. We were both in severe distress.
And the staff? You'd think people in hospitality industry would be prepared for emergencies, right? Or have basic empath? I've taught this to hotel management students in my class. But no one came to help us. The server asked how he was, and when I replied that he wasn't doing well, she just smiled at me. We had to desperately ask for water, and then I remembered dairy can help, so we asked for lassi. It was a tiny, overpriced portion, but it finally helped him start to feel better.
Then our main course arrived, some noodles and chicken satay.

Would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Hotel Manager and the entire team for their exceptional service and support during our official workshop. The staff were cooperative, helpful, and quick to respond to any requests, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout our stay.
All the staff were active, professional, and kind, making our experience truly pleasant. I would especially like to mention Ms. Karma Euden, who was the main point of contact and handled everything efficiently and graciously, and Mr. Pema, the Head of Dining, for his excellent coordination and warm hospitality.

Its one of the most standard hotel I have ever seen in Bhutan. And besides beautiful, handsome and clean staff, their kindness does everything thing. I am awe struck by them. And the foods are so good.

Exceptional service. Especially enjoyed the restaurant Zakhang. The executive chef Mr. Pankaj Kumar and his team including Mr. Rohit pampered us with mouth watering delicacies. The restaurant manager Mr. Pema and his team members Keazang and Passang went all out to make every moment memorable.
Congratulations to the general manager Mr. Vikram Patil for running Taj Yarkay with such excellence.

My wife, daughter and my brother in law stayed in Yarkay, Thimpu from Sep19-21. The overall experience was positive, with the highlight being good service and friendly staff.
The staff promptly responded to our calls of boiling the milk for our child early mornings and evenings.
The location of the property is perfect, it’s in the heart of Thimpu. All the popular cafés like mountain cafe, clock tower are a stones throw away.
The main course in the multi cuisine restaurant was good, we ordered Mutton Biryani and Burger.
Two sour points I would say was the Tiramisu ordered, it was stale frozen and could not be cut.
The pancake in the breakfast platter was very hard and stale, again could not be cut.
Overall a big positive.

Great hotel in the middle of it all with an exceptional bar.
Beautiful property in the middle of the city — where all the action is. Please ensure you make it up the bar, which is an extra special spot where you can have outstanding views of the city below.
Passang is a brilliant bartender who will be the most wonderful host during your stay — here cocktails are exceptional.

Staff was the star of the show here. Amazing experience and great attention to detail. All members of the staff were lovely and incredibly accommodating! We even returned days later to have dinner in the restaurant once again and were greeted with friendly faces and asked about how the rest of our trip was going. Location is also great! Very highly recommend this hotel!

Zakhaang is truly the best restaurant in Thimphu, located in Yarkay IHCL. We had an amazing experience during the authentic Thai food promotion. The live Som Tam was extraordinary! Yarkay Hotel truly stands out, not just for its top-notch food but also for its warm and friendly staff who gave us great food and drink recommendations.
Chef Pankaj and his team, including Rabten and Chef Rohit, were so welcoming and interacted wonderfully with guests. Sange and Amita provided excellent service, making delicious drinks and suggesting the best wines. My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
This is undoubtedly the best hotel in Bhutan—an experience like no other!
