Hotel Drukchen

Scenic and peaceful location, delicious food from their restaurant and friendly staff. You get a nice view of the Paro Rinpung Dzong from their dining area. They have a 24x7 reception where you can get help anytime you need which was really convenient!

It was an old hotel and the rooms were situated very far because it was chalet type. The beds were big and has a heated blanket which was very nice since it was cold at night time. There was also a big balcony outside.
The bidet in the bathroom was leaking unfortunately and there was a smell of old wood in the room. The food choices were very few but there was pork in dinner time.
However, the staffs were very helpful and friendly.

Compared to our stay at Thimphu, this hotel was good. The rooms look a little old but its clean and manageable as the whole day goes in travelling and you are at the hotel only for bedtime. The food was very good (recommended for indian travellers) as they do serve good dal chawal roti sabzi. Breakfast was good as well hot aloo parathas, masala omlette, fruits, cornflakes and all. Room had heaters as well as heating bed so was comfortable. Definitely will recommend.

This hotel was pretty good. The rooms were comfortable and spacious, with pretty good views of the valley (mine had a nice view of the airport). The restaurant also had great views and was quite large. The food was pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but it got the job done.
The Wi-Fi in this hotel wasn't great, especially in the room. My room was on the third floor and the Wi-Fi signal wasn't strong enough to provide reliable access. It kept cutting in and out. The bathroom was also pretty basic and not exactly a comfortable place to take a shower. The location provided nice views, but it wasn't particularly close to the downtown area.
All in all it was pretty good hotel. Chances are you probably have a guide and booked through a company, so it's not like you'll have much choice on where you're staying anyways. But this place is good enough to have a relatively comfortable stay.

Terrible stay. The room is old, there's no curtain in the shower and there was no hot water. Laundry was expensive for what it is as it came out not ironed. Breakfast is poor. I would not recommend.

Thomas Cook my tour organisation has selection of excellent hotels in phuntsholing. Thimpu. Punakha… closing the holiday they did oblige the next day.
Karma 1 was so kind to welcome us with a lovely lemon drink. Gratitude for the same.
Looking forward to dinner which was amazing.

As we have a great day with tigers nest trekking this morning.
Most important down side of this scenic property is loud sound exchange through the rooms… be it individual talking or TV. Its porous. Very disturbing.
Dinner was nice… the mutter paneer was outstanding. Dal. Papad. Curds. Pickle. Okhra. Roti rice.
This morning breakfast was cornflakes. Toast. Aloo parathas. Apple juice.
I forgot my empty bottle. As always karma 1 is kind to find an empty bottle and fill it with water. Gratitude.
The views are amazing.

This is a very beautiful hotel in paro. Looking very authentic and traditional. Rooms are very spacious. View from the restaurant is really beautiful and we can see the flight take off and landing on the world's toughest airports that's paro international airport. Food is awesome and staff are very courteous and friendly. Room service is very quick and prompt. Beautiful hotel where we can stay with family and enjoy the beauty of nature of Bhutan.

Staff is good. Rooms are nice. Hospitality and ambience too are good. Vegetarian food is not good. Even otherwise there are very limited options and that too not up to mark. They need to have better cooks.

We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff was very helpful, the food served was good. The room we stayed in seemed a bit old, but the hotel makes up for this by ensuring hygiene and a comfortable stay. The view from the rooms are great. We could see snow capped mountains on one side and the Paro airport on the other.

Rooms were adequate although we had trouble using the key to room 302 EVERY FRICKIN’ DAY. Sometimes it wouldn't lock, sometimes it wouldn’t unlock, and sometimes we couldn’t extract our key. Food was mediocre at best and usually was not ready when the restaurant started serving, even if we informed the staff in advance of our expected gustatory arrival. No menu choices. Every meal focused on Indian food, which is fine unless you’ve spent a month in India (as we did) and you’re absolutely sick of Indian cuisine. Traditional foods of Bhutan are the best! Restaurant service here was chaotic. ; e. G. Was offered dessert while still eating salad. BTY, turn down the desserts…

Recently we have visited Bhutan and in Paro, and we stayed in Drukchen Resort in Paro. We were happy with the overall arrangements. The rooms are big with all the modern amenities with bathtub also in the washroom. The view from the rooms are also overlooking the Paro Valley, Airport and Paro Dzong. We enjoyed the food here in breakfast and dinner. The breakfast menu was comprised of Indian and continental, while in Dinner they served mainly Indian along with 2 Bhutanese dishes. The dinner we really enjoyed. The owner Karfen madam really very helpful and looked after us very well. Overall a very much satisfied experience and recommend others to stay here.
