Dewachen Resort

Our overall experience with this hotel was not good. The positives were the view from our room and the bed and bedding. However our shower didn’t work, the Wi-Fi was very spotty at best and the buffet dinner was terrible. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel!

Visited in 2018 and it was lovely. Room was great, foods were delicious and staffs are very friendly.
Breakfast view was also breathtaking.

Very impressive exterior and nice settings, but the hotel shows a lot of signs of wear and tear. They have a bunch of Traveler's Choice stickers but the latest one was dated 2014 I think. It's time to renovate it. The room was spacious and clean. Good bathroom. Wi-fi was sporadic in the room but pretty strong in the reception area and in the restaurant. They provide a buffet dinner, the food was a notch better than standard Bhutanese fare. Deep tissue massage was pretty good.

We loved the location, quietly situated on a hill top overlooking the floating clouds and the valley.

Hotel with a good view. It is located on top of a hill which provides a great view of the mountains. You might not necessarily have a good view from your room. You will have to come outside for it. The rooms are a bit old, but clean. Not a very fancy place, but it is not bad.

I visited this place in August 2018. It is a nice, cozy place. Nice wooden interiors of the room. Every room has a balcony with great view. Very calm. In the morning at 4am we could only hear the sound of a flowing river nearby. It was heavenly.
This place has a lovely garden. Peach trees, Apple trees, we could pluck the fruits directly from the trees.
Food was good.
If at all I want to put critical points:
1. Rooms don't have a bright light if you want to read. Only the deem yellow lights.
2. No market place around, it is quite isolated. But then that can be looked at as a plus too.

It was a great stay at Dewachen Resort & Spa. The room allotted had a great view of the Paro valley and the fields. All the rooms were surrounded with apple trees and the rose bushes make the setting very pleasant.

When you enter the room you will be mesmerized! The view is just stunning. Yes, the bathroom is max 3 stars (our shower started to flood after few minutes) and the breakfast is boring. Dinners were not bad. But that view is unbeatable!

Stayed in March 2019. Really nice hotel run by friendly people. Nice room with wooden floor, traditional ambiance, good beds, modern bathroom. There's also a powerful electric heater in the room. And as a bonus, a small balcony with the best view over the valley, also lying in your bed you can overlook the valley. Really quiet stay, about 5 minutes drive from the Paro center (taxi is cheap), no dogs barking at night nearby (as you have downtown). And a great restaurant, with also the same view, wood burning stove, and good food. Recommended!

The Dewachen Resort has incredible views of the Paro valley and it’s a great place to watch the gorgeous sunrises from. The place is currently undergoing an extensive renovation so will be even more comfortable in the future. The rooms arr spacious with comfortable beds but the renovation will certainly benefit the bathrooms. The restaurant also has great views and they can make a really decent spread of Bhutanese dinner. It’s quite a walk from the center of Paro though so unless you really like to walk, you will be depending on transportation.
