I've been to a few great places in Belize, but this is by far my favorite. I was in awe with the landscaping and natural jungle feel. The food was great and customer service A1. Pool is amazing, rooms are cozy and romantic. It's like everything there is perfectly made and welll thought-out. Highly recommended.

LOVED our trip here a couple years ago. The entire family agrees… we WILL be back someday! From a family who tries not to vacation in the same place twice, Sleeping Giant will be the exception.

Stayed at Sleeping Giant for 6 days and 5 nights studying abroad with a large group. The staff was beyond accommodating and some of the best people I’ve ever met. Doris, Finn, Axel, George, and Joshua made the experience even better. Great food and the rooms are gorgeous! Paradise doesn’t seem like a strong enough word for SG. I’ll definitely be back with my family!

The staff is absolutely amazing! Doris, Fin, Whan, Richard, Axel, Jarrison, and all other staff, I'm sorry I don't remember your names directly. You truly bring out the best of this place. The grounds and rooms are the nicest I've personally been in before. You can sit almost anywhere in the property and the pure symphony of the jungle sounds will always be turned on HIGH! It's amazing. Breathtaking beauty 360° ALL THE TIME!

From arrival to departure everyone we met was helpful and friendly! Upon arrival we were greeted by Doris who is a delight and she toured us around the resort to our room at the River house. This room was magnificent from the comfy beds to the beautiful views. At this resort you get the beauty of the jungle with exquisite foliage and the mountains. You can enjoy these views from your private patio and hammock! Everyone greeted us by name each time they saw us and went above and beyond to be sure our stay was amazing. Acxel helped us to decide on our tour and each step of our vacation he went out of his way to be sure we were well taken care of for example he made us dinner setup for us to celebrate my daughters birthday, he checked on us frequently and proceeded us with tips to insure we made the most of our visit. A trip to the scenic lookout is a must! Last but not least. Amir at the pool bar made sure our relaxing pool day was exactly what we had envisioned! For our tour we went cave tubing with Marvin and it was an unforgettable experience.

The trails and nature scenes are breath taking. The cocktails and infused water were refreshing & delicious; I enjoyed the jungle fever. Most of all, the staff were friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the experience very much.

This place is wonderful for anyone who wants to indulge in nature. Its sorrounded by flowers and trees, compounded by natural springs that run across the entire area. Its so quiet that you can just close your eyes and listen to the birds chirping or the water flowing. Its ammenities include kayaking at a clean river and swimming in a pool. The restaurant is the best part. The chef is really welcoming and his food is scrumptious. You can taste every herb and spice in it. I totally recommend to visit this place, even if its just to go for lunch!

Wonderful experience. Absolutely beautiful place, wonderful staff and great food at the restaurant. The lodge is in the secluded rainforest. I suggest stopping at the store and buying some drinks and snacks for the room before you arrive.

A hidden paradise in the valley. Was able to stay here via Wild Belize Adventures & Tours and it was an amazing experience. This is place is the epitome of luxury and relaxation.

Booked the Sleeping Giant Lodge last weekend with visiting family! We booked the River View house two bedrooms and easy access to pool, common areas and restaurant! Excellent staff, gorgeous grounds, exotic flowers, river just a few steps away. Absolutely recommend!

A good base to explore the area which includes Blue Hole NP and Five Blues Lake NP. The hotel is located smack in the middle of Belize. Between Belize City, Placencia and San Ignacio. The hotel also have a nice (and steep) trail to a gazebo which offers nice views. We stayed here for 4 nights and had a nice time. Our cabin was excellent and maids do a very good job of cleaning all the bugs every day. Outdoor tub and open bathroom was a nice feature. The pool is nice but most chose to do excursions so it’s empty most of the time, which we didn’t mind. The only negative is the hotel is not close to any towns outside therefore your only choice for food is the one hotel restaurant. We didn’t mind but it was rather expensive for Belize. The food was good however and we tried different items every night and all were fine. They do have different daily specials so you won’t be bored. There are free bicycles but the trail is hot with little shade. We didn’t use the paddle board nor swim in the river because the water isn’t clear and no one used it. Overall it is a nice secluded place to stay if you like being in touch with nature or passing through the area.

Wonderful hotel with beautiful grounds. Very Secluded location near Blue Hole National Park (Inland Blue Hole that is). If you like to be in touch with nature this hotel is great for that. The hotel is not close to any nice restaurants (even if you have a car) so meals are limited to the one hotel restaurant, but they do serve a variety of food and stay open late. The bar is staffed by Juan who is very friendly as are all of the workers here. Our room was excellent. We had a creek side cottage near the pool and it’s a nice location. Not sure what it’s like to stay on top of the hill but the creek rooms are close to everything. The hotel has a nice hiking trail to their gazebo where you can have paranormic view of the entire area.

Couldn't say enough positive things about our stay at Sleeping Giant. Our mountain view suite was stunning, service was impeccable, the grounds beautiful, and the food at the restaurant was solid. We would absolutely go back and highly recommend to anyone considering. We've traveled extensively and this has been our favorite place we've ever stayed.

I can only speak for the restaurant, as I have not stayed at this beautiful place as yet. Ate here twice in the last 3 weeks, and will be back shortly again! EXCELLENT service, GREAT food.

The staff were amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed my time here. We road the bikes through the orchard, we hiked to the gazebo at the top of the mountain and enjoyed 5 star breakfast, lunch and dinner (and that is coming from a chef myself). I am looking forward to coming back again. I was a little disappointed that there was no Wi-Fi in the room. However, I quickly got over it with all thw activities they had available through the front desk. The rooms are pretty good, they don't do the grounds any justice though. We stayed in the river guide room. This is a must go to place. Even if you just drop in for a bite to eat. You will love it!

We were skeptical about staying in the same resort again because we had a fantastic time in the first time and we didn't want to spoil the memory but this is such a great place why risk it by going somewhere else. We had a mountain suite and the view and the room was unbelievable. The stuff is very friendly and there were many updates in the resort since our last time. There is a lot of activities in the area and they have a bus picking you up and dropping you off from the activities. Great restaurant, pool and grounds. We will definitely return.

Amazing experience, from checking in to check out. The staff really did their best to help with anything you could want or need. The drivers and tour guides were all amazing too. The room was so clean, and private. There is no Wi-Fi or TVs In the room so it’s very intimate. You can hear the monkeys and see so many birds right from your room. The food is outstanding, farm to table and everything is local. I would 1000000% come back and recommend this resort to everyone.

The grounds are beautiful, and the room is spacious and clean, there are alot of stairs to get to the rooms and to the dinning area.

Absolutely beautiful & people are so friendly! We went as a group but it's really destined for couples in my opinion. It is a very romantic atmosphere… many activities… we rode bikes, different educational hikes through the jungle… there's a river to swim, kayak, or paddle board… no Wi-Fi in the rooms (only front desk) unless you get the Garden view rooms. Those are below the restaurant area. The staff is so friendly. There is also laundry service there… I also noticed the pool towels smelled so clean & fresh! There is a lot to do… horse back adventures, bird watch, cave tubing… There alcohol consist of rum or tequila… sorry, no Jack Daniels lol… and Belikin beer … I definitely would recommend as a romantic get away or if you like a different refreshing atmosphere! It's Gorgeous❤

This resort is absolutely beautiful! The staff is incredibly welcoming and helpful. I lost my underwater camera while paddle boarding on the river, when I told them what it looked liked in case anyone happened to find it and turn it in, they immediately sent a crew down to the river to search for it! They also provide a private dining experience with flowers everywhere and wonderful service for no additional cost.

Breathtaking jungle get away location. Spectacular view of the Maya mountain and river. Clean elegant rooms, and professional friendly staff… awsome spa service… unique and pristine river and jungle trails. One of a kind location.

Had an incredible stay here! Great rooms, great service, great food! The hiking trails around the lodge are awesome! Very thick Jungle! The daily adventures are also unforgettable!

The staff here was so lovely. Everyone got to know us. The grounds are beautiful, and our room at the top of the mountain was breathtaking. I totally recommend staying here.

I was told about this place from a friend so we only stayed 2 nights. It is amazing. So quiet and everyone is so nice and friendly. The first night we stayed in one of two rooms under the dining area and the next morning I was up at 5:45am since the kitchen was getting things ready for breakfast, I went and talked to the front desk and although they were full, they had a cancellation and put us in another room. They were so nice and aplogitic about the situation and even gave us a credit when we checked out (something they didn't have to do) I fell in love with the people and it felt like they actually cared about my family and me, greeting us by name each time we came to eat or in passing. I hope it never gets over crowded. We loved it there and hope to be back.

We had a great time here, and would recommend it to anybody. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Views of the jungle are amazing and you feel submersed into the environment. Hike up to the gazebo to really understand the beauty, but be prepared for a rigorous hike. If you are renting a car to get there, make sure it is a rugged 4WD because the driveway is tricky. My only complaint would be the cost of food at the restaurant. The prices are high, though the food is all good, if a little bland. This would not be an issue if you go all-inclusive.

We enjoyed our stay thoroughly — we almost were hesitant to rate it because we don't want it to become packed and/or expensive! You quickly get to know everyone at by name and feel like you are right at home — it's a step above great service — it's personalized great service! The rooms, especially Mountain View where we stayed, are exquisite! Like over the top beautiful, literally over the top, as it looks over the rain forest. Loved it! Also, the food was amaizing!

The casitas are amazing! The entire place is absolutely beautiful. Definitely the place to go for a relaxing vacation. Would be better if you rented a vehicle so that you can travel on your own. Also the pillows are very thick and hurt my neck.

Spent a week here last Sep. And loved every minute of it. Beautiful setting. Spacious comfortable casitas next to a nice stream, great A/C, really large bathroom and shower, wonderful covered lanai with table and chairs and hammock. Great restaurant as well, with some really excellent dishes.

They won't allow a long enough review to describe how amazing this place is. First you are struck by the beauty of the surroundings, but that truly comes second to the amazing staff. We were greeted with a big smile by Eugene after a long day of travel and he showed us all around the property and took us to our private casita. Words cannot express… This is So Much more than we imagined. The casita was stunning with every last need thought of for you, the food was quite literally amazing at every meal (I gained 8 pounds), the views are straight out of a Outdoor magazine, the free activities were perfect to fill in the days that we didn't want to leave the lodge. After 8 nights we left feeling totally renewed and we are already planning our next trip in November. Thank you to all of the amazing staff for making this the best vacation we've ever had!

Fantastic experience all around. Beautiful luxuriously landscaped grounds, comfortable and clean spacious casitas, fabulous staff in both their friendliness and service, great location with wonderful day trips and tours. All in all, I highly recommend this resort. Only negative was Wi-Fi that didn't quite work in rooms. They said they are going to work on it during September 2014 when the resort is closed.

A sweet escape into a mini paradise. The view is breath taking, and the food is amazing. I truly enjoyed nature at its best staying there. I can't wait to go there again!

Almost everything about our stay at the sleeping giant was magical, from the amazing spanish casita, the incredible views, to the extremely attentive and friendly staff. I would've given it 5 stars if it weren't for the consistently poor food (breakfast and dinner).
