Potentially a brilliant hotel but in need of better housekeeping and staff training/ management. Service was either exceptional or abysmal depending on who was on shift. Reception staff were consistently good.

Average. The bar and restaurant only open after 1700 despite the room leaflets saying it's open from 0630. Probably due to understaffing. Room itself was serviceable, if not amazing.

Comfortable rooms. Ideal location close to main square. Plentiful breakfast. Friendly efficient staff.

Location is good, room was okay and staff are friendly/ efficient. I wish hotels would state in their pricing if it is inclusive of parking. Checking in to find it is 15€ per night extra makes it an expensive stay for a mediocre hotel, we would have chosen elsewhere.

Very clean, good food at breakfast and dinner. Rooms were tidy and spotless. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Good double bed but the twin option bed is not up to standards by any means. Hotel is nice enough though and in a good spot.

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour group. Staff very helpful and friendly. Breakfasts in the morning were fantastic.

I brought a group of 32. My room was great, but some of my students stayed in a room that was too hot and they couldn't adjust the great. It was also hard for most of us to figure out how to turn the shower on. On the other hand, everything was clean and the breakfasts were excellent. Most important to me was that it is quite close to the city center and near the Menin Gate.

Lovely clean hotel with friendly staff, convenient parking, and right in the centre of town. One-way glass doors to the shower were an odd choice of decor, but aside from that the room design was modern and inspiring.

Living like a home. Its a very good hotel and staff communication and co operation is very good. I recommand this hotel to my friend also. Breakfast is also good.

PERFECT Base to see Meniin Gate (which is only a few hundred meters away) and WW1 battlefields clean rooms friendly staff and lovely breakfasts.

It was quite apparent that you currently operate with minimum staffing levels. From the single person on check in dealing with a long telephone enquiry while we waited, the constant hunt to find someone to serve behind the bar and the breakfast staff member trying to usher us out of the room prior to your stated finish time so she could remove the food and presumably move onto other duties. It would also have been pleasant to have meaning eye contact and a thank you for our custom from the receptionist on departure.

I have stayed many times at this hotel over the last few years, and from the beginning something didn't seem right. Check in was unusually confused. The young lady on reception had only been on the job for a few days (not her fault) but there was no one to help her in the beginning. Up to the rooms, all seemed normal. Down to the bar, could only see one member of staff doing pretty much everything, serving a party in the restaurant, clearing up and serving at the bar. We were then told of the changes. Hotel sold, General Manager gone, restaurant manager gone, lots of kitchen staff gone, waiting staff gone, no more lunches unless already confirmed, no evening meals. Talk about shock. And now the hotel is some sort of timeshare affair. Yes the rooms need updating, but this was a busy hotel with a great atmosphere and great staff. It now feels as though the heart has been ripped out! We are seriously questioning returning to the hotel in future.

Overall a pleasant experience. The room was nothing special, but comfortable with the usual facilities. The light switch in the bathroom was dangerously loose on the wall. The bed was comfortable, though the option of a soft pillow would have been welcome. Breakfast was comprehensive with a decent selection, though I felt it should have been included in the room rate. Staff polite and helpful. Late checkout on a Sunday is a good facility.

We love this hotel and we had a lovely if very emotional visit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had visited with a tour 3 years ago and decided we would definitely book again when we returned. We were extremely glad we did. We were not disappointed in any way.

We have been returning to the Novotel in Ieper for the last 10 years and had no hesitation in re-booking again this year. This time, however, has been a little disappointing. I know how popular the town is with visitors attending the many World War 1 commemorations but the Novotel is now quite expensive for a 3 star graded hotel and at the same time we found the service has deteriorated. The staff are as friendly and helpful as ever, however, I understand that a new senior management team has recently made some changes which has resulted in a poorer experience for guests. For example, in the evening the meals available are sporadic with snacks only available some nights and other evenings only a full menu being offered. There seems to be fewer staff on duty too, particularly in the evenings. I had to wait for over 10 minutes to order a drink simply because the waitress was rushed off her feet doing other tasks elsewhere. The hot food on offer at breakfast is also not as comprehensive as before and the quality not as good. With a choice of just 4 items, the bacon was fatty and the small sausages quite tasteless and barely cooked, leaving some scrambled eggs and baked beans! We will probably come back but come on Novotel Ieper, please return to the standards you achieved previously — we all know that budgets are tight but your customers deserve better!

Good hotel. Rooms seem very well insulated from noise. The buffet breakfast is amazing. Location is perfect. Just off the main square but far enough away that you don't hear the night life.

The room was plenty large enough and comfortable. Unfortunately the bed was only inches from the wall on one side so getting out of bed in the night was very difficult without waking my wife. The bath towels were grey and did not have that freshly laundered appearance. The breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice. On our last visit the hotel had a car park but the hotel management seem to have had a falling out with the owner so now only payable on street parking is available.

I have stayed at this hotel over many years since 2004 and always found it very friendly and welcoming. However this time I noticed that the breakfast selection on the hot buffet had been reduced which was disappointing. In the bedroom we used to be provided with glass drinking glasses and mineral water. This has been reduced to paper cups and no mineral water, again disappointing in a hotel of this stature and rate. Otherwise the experience was very good as usual.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was very comfortable, even with 4 (2 adults and 2 children) of us on a double room! The staff were superb and gave excellent guidance on parking etc. They also provided extra bedding when requested. The breakfast was great, particularly enjoyed the waffle machine. A really enjoyable stay.

Right in the center of the city, very good breakfast and very good welcome to the animals of Compagnnie.

Comfortable, clean, large restaurant with bar, friendly and knowledgeable reception, clean rooms, spacious, clean and ample bathroom. Only one towel for shower, hair and hand is little. No parking (I asked to park a bike and they replied to… Turn around)

Wonderful breakfast, attentive and friendly service, well appointed rooms, very convenient placement.

Comfy beds, free Wi-Fi and wide selection of breakfast. It's also just around the corner from the Menin Gate and a wide variety of restaurants.

Novotel class experience, the same everywhere in Europe. I really appreciate at the breakfast the self made orange juice. This was a real plus for me.

During 4 Night Stay I had to Check out 3 times because I need to change into another Hotel. An this was in the middle of my stay. After this night I should come back. Biggest thing was, I didnt now something about. Durring my absence they pack all my things and I was throuwn out so unfriendly. I Never had such a bad stay in a Hotel before.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, beer is on the deer side but very nice. Will stay again.

Friendly. Helpful staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. One niggle though-I would have liked a china cup/mug in my room.

Always a complete pleasure to stay at this hotel.
