We always visit this pub when we come to Ypres, but this visit has been the best. Wonderful friendly atmosphere and the landlady/owner is so friendly and welcoming. She does a brilliant pint of Guinness too! Highly recommended if you ever visit Ypres and it's not far from the Menin Gate. Don't miss it!

The Old Bill is a must for any visit to Ypres. It has something for everyone, from a great atmosphere, friendly & hospitable staff, live sports, games room with pool, darts, pinball etc and also lots of places to sit and chat. It’s just one of those places that gives you that feel good factor, where everyone talks to each other. Highly recommend & only about a 200 metres from the Menin gate.

Located literally just off the main square in Ypres. This is a perfect location for exploring. It's only a 5 minutes walk to the Menin gate also. Parking is no problem with plenty of space available nearby. It is pay and display but between 18:00 and 09:00 it is free. The rooms are large and the beds comfy. The bathroom is nice too. Breakfast is fantastic, full continental style with so much choice. I will be staying here again, no problem.

No washingplace as promised as facility, sunday breakfast at 8.30 no fresh bred or eggs. But the owners are very kind and helpfull — and to the price so near center it must be okay. But we think 2 stars are fair for hotel O.

Super helpful staff, good english. Got us a room with a better Wi-Fi signal when heard we were going to use it. Clean room with an capsule coffee maker. Big beds. Good breakfast. Right next to the Flanders museum and the best burger place on belgium (by their own eatimate). Really happy with the place.

Visited in February for a couple of nights. Great location and brilliant staff. Will definitely return.

Very quite nice and clean we had a wonderful view across the square the beds were good and reception staff were welcoming on arrival View from our room.

What a fabulous night we had in the Bill — a whole crowd of us overtook the place and we had a ball. Great service, great beer and friendly staff — so hard working.
Memorable night enjoyed by all with AFB charity 100 km walkers… they had a thirst on mind ;)

I was in Ypres for 4 nights and managed to visit the Old Bill on 3 of those (the evening I didn't was the one day a week the pub is closed). The staff are very friendly and the Belgian beers are well worth a try. Great place to have a beer or two!

What a fantastic time really friendly staff. We had 3 good night's in here just over from our hotel. It's a good place to relax with a pint.

I was very pleased with the friendliness and service at the hotel. Very clean and local to most of the tourists to visit. I would recommend this hotel to any of my friends and family.

The new owner is lovely but sadly, despite her concerted efforts, there is a problem with bedbugs from the previous owners that has not yet been remedied. Until this has been done thoroughly, it is NOT viable.

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Cheap and cheerful but lively and clean and right in the centre on Ypres.

Nice, clean hotel with all the essential facilities. Efficient, friendly and welcoming staff. Accommodation is spartan but functional and comfortable. Reasonable price especially for a central location.

Toilet didnt work properly and the toilet and washroom was separate… Which was weird.

Stayed here with a school group of 30 students. They were incredibly organized and accommodating for a large group, and when we walked in they were ready for us and it took less than 5 minutes to check the whole group in. The rooms we were in were huge (especially considering what we saw on the rest of our European trips) and the breakfast was excellent — so many choices and a huge breakfast room. The best part of the hotel was it's great location. Less than 3 minutes to the town square and restaurants, and less than 5 to Menin Gate. Would definitly recommend and will stay here again when I return.
